The problem is FHL bills itself as "A", but SPHL teams would absolutely destroy the FHL teams if they played head to head. SPHL teams move guys up to the ECHL and beyond -- Scott Darling tended goal for 2 season in the SPHL and the league has improved since then. I am doubtful about any kind of pro team at McMorran now in Port Huron. The support isn't there like there used to be. I also see no future for the OHL team moving from Plymouth to Flint. Flint is a terrible market right now.

Someone does need to find a level that can support Dayton, Flint, Port Huron, Johnstown, etc. I don't know what that level is anymore though. It does make EHM in North America seem... lacking, considering it's now missing the UHL/IHL and CHL in the lower levels. It could soon be Elmira, Wheeling, and Kalamazoo joining them.

This is one of the big reasons I want to be able to create leagues, even in just a pre-game editor.

Honestly I don't know much about the FHL. I just like to watch semi-pro hockey because these guys sure as hell aren't doing it for the money. I was hoping to catch a Cornwall RiverKings game (LNAH) before leaving Ottawa for good a couple of years ago, but just never got around to it. I was hoping to take in a Petrolia Squires game (WOAA Senior AA) last season, but again, never had the time. Hopefully I'll have time next season. I did see a few Sarnia Sting games, but never seemed to make it out to see any Legionnaires games...too bad, because they had a pretty good team this year. They should have a pretty good team next year if their mini-camp last weekend is any indication.

This may be a silly idea but it would be super cool if you could have the option to move the team in game. Let's say you take over a terrible team or a small market team isn't doing well. It would be really need if you could someone move to the team to a different or better market either at the end of the season or for a big team in a two or three season time frame.

Imagine taking over the Oilers and being able to move them to Seattle or Las Vegas. I don't think this would be a difficult function to add as there's already so many cities in the database.

Also it would be cool if you could change affiliates or buy/sell farm teams.

Not sure if this has been mentioned.....but it would be wonderful if there was a way to click an entire page of players and add them to the shortlist....its tedious to have to add/remove one player at a time....the 07 game did not have it either....one of the older versions did I think. Just check the box and all the players are selected and add/remove all at once......perhaps its a me issue but I like to scout the entire drafts lightly first, 2200 players one at a time is a problem

* - Put all scouting data on one screen (a la EHM 2005). Pain in the ass to have to flip through 3 separate screens to see what could easily fit one a single, scroll-enabled screen.

A main menu button. If I want to go to a different game file, I have to exit the game and re-open it. Seems pretty simple to do.

When searching free agents in the offseason, the stats seem to reset to zero making it hard to filter out players by prior year stats. Maybe hold off on resetting the stats until preseason begins?

On the standings page there is too much wasted space. I would like to see all those stats pushed closer to the team names and win/loss streaks and record in last 10 games added in on the league standings page. It's better to have those stats on the main page then to have to go into the team stats to look them up.

I belong to a league that is still using Eastside Hockey Manager 1.18 (pre EHM 2007). Yes, we're primitives. Is there any way to take our roster file from that product and move it into Early Access ? We're serious about changing over to Early Access and something like that would save us a rubbish-load of time.

Why does a goon's personal tactics reset if they've been suspended? It's really annoying to have to go through and constantly reset my fighters' personal tactics when they fight or get suspended. I like to carry a couple of goons and allow all my strong players to fight. Every time there's a dust up, the game resets my players being allowed or encouraged to fight. It's stupid.

Also why can't I move the game around my desktop when its windowed?

Goon question on tactic reset--Yeah that happens no matter who misses games. Sit them out and have to reset personal tactics. It is a great request and should go on SI site for retention of personal tactics once set.

1, Make European UFA´s more realistic (=weaker). It is so easy to sign pretty good players from Europe and trade them for nice draft picks (or use them as a key players)
2, The AI of waiver draft should be improved drastically as well

These two should be the most inportant things to do, they both make game too easy.

You have to fix so I can scout my teams player by one click and don't need to click on every player and scout it alone.

I think it would be great if we had player photos that were action shots. This may be something that an individual can mod and upload for us all, I'm not sure, but it would be great. Some of these profile photos are tragic

Freeware EHM is written in VisualBasic and is a completely different database system. The players are stored in a single text file, with a hard limit of 3500 players. Riz has stated in the past, I believe, that VB simply could not handle anything above 3500, and he'd run up against other limits of programming in VB or else the freeware could have gotten bigger (more leagues, more players, etc). Riz was ultimately trying to create something like Championship Manager for hockey in VB. We're spoiled now with the SI series and line, and I know many here have never played the freeware, but the original freeware was remarkable and still actually holds up very well, given that it was first released in what, 2001? You can toss freeware EHM on an old machine and very much get sucked in. I still keep it on an old laptop so in a pinch I can get my fix.

FE, 2005, 2007, and EA are all a completely different series/product line with much larger databases, the freeware uses a completely different set of Attributes for players and Staff, not to mention there are completely different league structures and such.

The Freeware version is still extremely popular for online leagues because it's free, and after over a decade people have refined how to make online leagues work best with it. It's also "quick and dirty" so you can put as much or as little time into it as you want (I used to spend so many hours scouting freeware EHM league drafts it was ridiculous). That said, the freeware is a pain for online leagues in many ways (I helped sim for a couple leagues back in the day, so I know the pains of being commissioner of one). Freeware was never meant for online league play though, nor did Riz exactly forsee where things would go with EHM:FE and then on...

There won't be a good way to change over on 2007 or Early Access. You'd have to restart a new league from scratch basically. I have never done a 2005, 2007, or EA game online so I can't comment on how those work.

You can assign a scout to scout your team. Scouting-Teams-choose league and team

I really want to se Champions Hockey League.

UK elite league teams often use university courses to recruit North Americans. These tend to be post grad courses so tends to be guys that have played college hockey in US or even Canadian Uni. Obviously with English being the language that also is a selling factor in recruitment. I would like for these sort of things to have some influence so while they may get offered a better salary the prospect of a Uni course and a lower salary is a better overall package. I wouldn't be surprised if over a third of north american imports start out in elite league with a Uni deal rather than take a higher base salary without Uni elsewhere. The partnerships with universities usually involve them sponsoring the team so may offer some free places or offer a significant discount.

Also would say relationships play a big role if you have someone on your team or who has recently played at your team they can be a major influence in trying to recruit family relations or former team mates. While it does not just apply to Elite League it is probably more influential as clubs cannot afford to have full time scouts. Its really just a network of former UK based players who you would ask for a reference or opinion. Also may be possible to get a late gem if you wait till training camps in north america are finished. Would love maybe a reciprocal system where you speak to other staff, players etc for opinions on a player and the more they trust you and your reputation the more detail and accuracy they may give you but you likewise would need to provide a opinion and reference on players you have coached or played against and the more helpful you are the more likely others will be to help you. I would probably say this cover a lot of leagues in the game outside of the top few. Perhaps minor affiliates quite reliant on their NHL affiliates scouting network.

Elite League players have 2 week notice clauses in their contract so either the player or the team can give that notice. There is a gentleman's agreement though that players cannot join another team in the league if they give notice unless the clubs agreed. With 12 imports in a team it is quite likely that every team will be effected by a player giving his notice especially if he is a decent player on a poor performing team and still in his first year with them.

Top British players especially those who have played some time oversees or at a premium as there is only a few of them who are up to standard of an normal rated import but as they don't use an import slot they can command a wage similar to a higher end import even if that import is a better player and won't be too happy if they are not in top 2 lines. As they get a bit older these top Brits may find though they can make more money by having a full time job outside of hockey and playing semi pro in EPL and get lots of ice time where they will get very good money for a part time role. So probably play last 3 years or so at that level rather than retire while in elite league.

I haven't seen these yet, so if I missed them I apologize.

I'd like to see several easy things put in.

In addition to the Entry Draft recaps of who picked whom, I'd like to see some sort of news item within say 48 hours of the draft concluding whereby the media rates/grades the teams on how they think they drafted. Similar to the pre-season rankings you see. Rank the NHL teams 1-30, and then list who the media thinks are the 2 or 3 best picks each team made (kinda' like how the preseason one lists a Key Player and New Addition). Of course it won't be completely accurate, and that's half the fun. The Preseason team rankings aren't either (my dead-last team was picked 2nd out of 30 in them last season, even though I knew they couldn't possibly make the playoffs).

In that same vein, a post-Trade Deadline recap would be nice, where the media lists maybe 5 Winners and 5 Losers from the deals made in the previous 24-48 hours prior to the deadline. This one I think I even specifically would know how to calculate: Take the Player Reputations coming in, minus the Player Reputations going out for each deal, and then SUM them all together (some deals would be negative values for a team, some positive), then forming one solid figure for each team. Then sort those figures for each team, and show the Top 5 and the Bottom 5. You could even assign Reputation values to each draft pick included in deals. Show the Top 5 Winners, and list the key 2 or 3 players they brought in, and then show the Top 5 Losers and list who they lost/moved out. As it is right now, the Deadline is not much of an "event" in-game, it's often very difficult to get a handle on what any other team did. It'd be nice to see what your rivals did or didn't do.

Then finally, a similar news mechanism for Free Agency: by July 10th say or another solid date where free agents will have really started signing, give a news recap of how teams fared in free agency. Again you could use Player Reputations to calculate this.

Overall, I think adding some more of these sorts of news items would give you a better handle and a more immersive experience into your game "universe". These are the kinds of things that always come out in the media after events, so you almost expect to see them.

Absolutely want more interactions, news items type things. One of the biggest things for me. Get more involved in those things.

But...want to see the Trade AI, game AI tightened up first. Then absolutely lets get this in terms of news/interactions to be super fun and exciting.

I think czech Extraliga is one of the best leagues in the world, but in EHM still missing

I hope that in the nex update Czech league will be!
