Because clearly we're all insane for suggesting wishlist items for a thread clearly entitled "Wishlist" when the game isn't done yet, and we should be filling this thread with post after post for them to just fix the bugs first, and never suggest anything new.
Sorry if I came out strongly, as english is my second language and even though I'm mostly fluent in it, and I tend to miss nuances sometimes and I come out in the way I don't intend to.

Maybe you could just let people have different opinions without the hyperbole/dramatics

Just saw Jágr retire after 1 season and I had a thought. What if there was a hidden, semi-random "longevity" attribute? Once in a while we see freaks like Howe, Chelios, Jágr, who can play way into their 40s but even in EHM2007 as soon as player hits 40 they never continue playing and often they stop earlier. It would be interesting to have more variety, as some players IRL fall off really hard in their mid-30s and some continue to play at a high level - Iginla, Streit. Thoughts?

Also attribute for early- and late boomers, early boomers would have higher possibility to fall off earlier, and late boomers could last longer, both depending on their other attributes, injuries etc.

Maybe we shouldn't repeat the same thing over and over in a thread where it's not even really applicable?

Look over the pages in this thread and see how many times the "Well first, Riz needs to get stuff fixed" refrain is cited, as though it is somehow relevant to this thread (hint: it's not most of the time). What you're doing is plain discouraging posting in this thread, and to be honest it's insulting as well, as if people posting wishlist ideas aren't smart enough on their own to figure out that the game needs bugs fixed first.

I don't think it's being dramatic at all to suggest that if that's how it's going to be, why even have this thread...

When people didn't 100% agree with your view, you said "let's go ahead and lock this thread and shut it down" & "Because clearly we're all insane for suggesting wishlist items for a thread clearly entitled "Wishlist" when the game isn't done yet"

I stand by my opinion that your saying "let's shut the thread down"and "clearly we're all insane" is both unnecessarily hyperbole and unnecessary dramatics

In my new role as Switzerland....and my love for all of everything in the world.

Peace and love to all...that is my real life wishlist. LOL.

I do not mean any negativity towards either of you, but let us move on....

My wish list item for the day? I would love to see something more media interactive. Maybe some kind of interview with me after I win the Stanley Cup and I can choose to be humble, arrogant, nice or insane.

Not sure if this was mentioned or not, but while in the game it would be nice to have 'Time of Possession' and 'Offensive Zone Time' stats.

I am kidding here...

O....V....E...R...R....A...T..E...D stats

Actually the are very overrated #s in Real life in terms of what they mean. But I know why people would want them. This is a stat geek kind of game after all. :-D

Fancy stats is a good tool IRL aswell but some people just exaggerate their value and think that the team with the best corsi/fenwick is the best team in the league, no matter how it really looks on the ice :P It would be really nice to have in the game though i must say, the more info we can get the better in a game like this.

Line stats. We have team, player. So how about line stats to go with em?

Need ability to launch external script or .bat file at predifined intervals (like the save game file) that would allow someone to manipulate stuff outside EHM. Example would be to update player pictures after trades or update logos (ie.Stanley Cup finals patch) with current year.

Also for retro databases, include tournaments like '72 and '74 Summit Series, all Canada cups, '70s Soviet/NHL exhibition tours.

Sorry if someone suggested this already, the thread is 19 pages long so I didn't read every post:

Keep player stats at least for HOF players. I've got guys that I drafted and have played 15-18 seasons for me and I REALLY wish I could view their old stats after they retired. Once they're gone, I pretty much can't see any of their historical seasons, only the generic goals/assists/points or wins. Much more detail in the HOF stats for individuals would be wonderful. It's only a question of keeping the data copy somewhere, and shouldn't be too hard. I'm 50 seasons into Front Office Football 7 and I can pretty much view anyone's stats that's ever played. Yes, it takes about 30 seconds to load the "Career Stats" database when I want to go look through all the thousands of players stats kept, but it's worth it!

Takes up alot of memory and slows the game down. Maybe some day...and yeah it is here and maybe only a page away. I can never understand why new people new to something do not read everything to learn from it. Just never do.

I wonder if it could be written to a file and accessed only when looking at the HoF?

Depends on your definition of "alot". 50 complete seasons with thousands of players stats all kept in FOF7 amounts to 1.3GB of data, which is tiny with today's storage and/or standard RAM. It wouldn't slow the game down at all if it wasn't loaded until the user opened the Career Stats screen, ala FOF7. It could easily be made a starting league configuration option, "Historical Data" checked or unchecked. Easiest way to do it would be to just make a copy of a player's History and store it in a Career Stats database once a player retires. That database would then only be loaded if/when the player choose to view a Career Statistics screen similar to the Player Statistics or Team Statistics screens that exist now.

Yes, it takes 30 seconds to load the Career Stats screen for the league in FOF7, but that's entirely up to the user if they want to access it or not. It doesn't affect the game if you never go to that screen.

Sorry that I didn't spend the last couple hours reading every single suggestion, apologies for posting something that may be redundant.
bruins72 wrote: I wonder if it could be written to a file and accessed only when looking at the HoF?
That's exactly how it works in FOF7. Basically the game keeps every single player card, so all their stats for each season, basically the same info if the player was still playing but obviously they're now retired. It amounts to a few MB of data per season really, not that much data at all.

Things that slowed games down in 2007 do not slow games down in 2015. Look at NHL 15 for instance, full player career stats season by season stored all on a console, which is significantly less powerful than most people's pcs nowadays.

Yeah, in depth HoF is a great idea.

Yeah, seriously, data is nowhere near as hard to keep, sort, and load today as it was almost 10 years ago. Even something as minor as restricting it to HOF players only would be a really nice thing, although there's no reason it couldn't be everyone, or least with an option for everyone to play at least one season in a selected league. No need to keep 50 years of data on players who never made it to your league, EHM really has a lot more leagues/teams/players than FOF7 does so it would be a lot of data if it kept EVERYONE.

I think it would open up a whole new facet of the game. Right now it feels like you're just always going forward, never any historical feeling or need to look back and reminisce. Every now and then I love to go look at all the Top 200 QB's in my FOF7 league, or RBs, etc, and recall which ones played for my team, which ones played against me, how close the #2 rusher came to surpassing the #1 rusher, only to retire after a serious hamstring injury, etc. Adds a ton of depth and feel to a game to have the historical records kept.

OMG you guys....this was a point made over a month ago here. And the point I made was that in EHM 2007 it would have slowed the game to a snail's pace. And in this post which is AT LEAST the 5th time this has been brought up in this thread that noone bothers to read....for some unknown reason...you would think when you were new to something you would learn about it.

The fact of the matter is...the reason this has not been in the game before is memory slowed the game down too much. When you simmed a career out 100 years it was TOO MUCH.

I DID NOT SAY, nor will I EVER SAY...that this is something that CANNOT go in the game.

I said in the past it was a problem

I have said it would be cool.

I am pretty dang sure I Did not need, nor did anyone need to have 5 posts of paragpraphs long explaining how memory works in a game.

Just growing very tired of people who do not read the posts come in here and post something that has been posted 5-10 times already. It is sloppy and annoying.

Now...do not read this as a personal attack. It is a general comment. Oh right, not worried you will not read it. :-D

Ok, so it was a memory problem in the past. Now it's not a memory problem.

So let's have it, kthxbye.

btw, I'm not so much trying to explain memory problems to anyone, just suggesting how it could be done, because I'm observing how it is done in a similar game. I hope the devs have time to look at that and consider it.

Another suggestion, and I did try to search the thread for this already: Full report on the All-Star skills competition, not just the winners. Top 5 in each category would be neat. "The teams tied the In the Zone competition", I'd love to know more about it...

suggestion for tweaking the box score layout...replace incremental score counters with team icons, and show up to date goal and assist totals for players,

I really like the up to date goal and assist totals for players, not really a fan of the look of the team icons (the way it looks above) replacing the score counter...
