I'm loving the randomness of those scores. Who are you playing as, and what sort of tactics?
As a side note: I'd be really happy if EHM made it harder for the human GM, so don't worry about bad starts!
Anyone else?

I'm the Capitals, it's the 2023-24 season. Last season I won the Conference (only to be dropped out in the first round), but since then I lost Bäckström and Lundqvist, and some other high earners due to them getting old and too expensive. Ovechkin I lost some time ago for the same reason. So this season my material isn't quite as good. I usually play offensive tactic, but I change and try different stuff when I feel my team needs to wake up. Like right now.
Yeah, I'd hate it if it were too easy! I've never been one of those, who dominate in this game. My attitude is too lax and unscientific.

The speed of instant result (everything fast forward/no highlights) has been reduced with the new update, very annoying

Instead of 5 seconds, including two times pressing the spacebar, it now takes about 15 seconds per period.
I don't want that.

Agree with Satyr, the new game speed is very annoying. I usually play on Fast-Fast which was perfect to me, now i'm on Fast-Fast Forward and it's so much slower then what i played on before, super annoying.

Same issue for me, if I want it to be slow, I'd set it like that.

Just noticed in the challenge, and wanted to see if it's the challenge, db or what:
The Atlantic Youth Hockey League (USA, U18 with Mercer, North Jersey, Wilkes-Barre Knights, Royals U16) seems to have a high number of foreign players (7 of 26, 6 are Japanese the other is Italian). Seems strange for an under 18 league on the east coast of the US.

Same here, something is broken with the DirectX implementation.

This OT/SO business is really bugging me. The cpu teams have a lot less then me. I have around 10 ROW less then teams with equal points every year.

As a lot of others are saying I really don't like this new game speed. I liked being able to burn through games. I'm not playing them myself and I really don't want to sit and watch the screen for a while. I want the simulation to go quick and smooth like it did before this update.

+1- IMO, the fastest option shouldn't be as slow as it is now.

Is it just me or do the players seem to be almost permanently depressed? Most seem to be stuck at "OK", I've seen only a few occasions of players having superb morale.

I don't see it as "a lot" myself (though you've posted in multiple threads on multiple sites)
My understanding is what used to take 10 seconds or less now takes 51 seconds.....if that's the issue IMO #1 I'm not even sure it's really a bug #2 I hope they fix pretty much every other issue first, because it doesn't seem like a big deal to me

Having the same issue as some of you gents. Game is painfully slow even just sim from day to day. I really can't handle the game speed. I also get random crashes no matter what time of year. It almost feels like they've added too much data for the engine to handle and move. It isn't very enjoyable right now. I would love to get some feedback on if this is a common issue and if the Devs know about it. At least I'd know a fix will arrive at some point. I just love this program but am use to a faster process.

I've not experienced this in the way you describe. I did notice the slower game clock speed, but, like I mentioned before, I've now gotten used to it, and it doesn't really bother me. The simulation speed is okay for me. As for simulating from day to day, have you considered dropping the level of detail, size of database and leagues on enhanced / view only?

The game clock speed is still bugged and slow, but the normal day to day simulation speed works fine, only difference i've noticed with the latest patch is that it stopped simulating the background games during the games i play, before when i was done with my match i would have ju a little bit of simulating for the other games (would start at like 80% or something, now it always starts from 0%, in other words, the background simulating doesn't seem to work anymore.

Thanks for replying. Never had to lower the data size before and my PC is fairly beefy so I really shouldn't have to. Also ran fine-ish before coming out of early release. I've also noticed that I can't change the lower right front office window. It seems stuck on league standings. The drop down arrow is gone. Early release and prior builds allowed me to customize all windows. This build just seems clunky and slow. I think I'm so disappointed right now because this is my favorite program and it feels like it has taken a step backwards. Almost beta-like. Definitely not as enjoyable as its been for me.

I think you have some problems with your settings since ur the only one that i've seen that have this experience. Check all your ingame settings and see if everything is as it should be.

What about the lower right front office window? Is it still customizable for you in 1.0.2?

Nope, not for me. It's League Standings and can't be changed. And I can't recall if it used to be, as I've never felt the need to customize that particular window.
Edit: just curious: how beefy is your computer?

It's always been customizable in every build I've played up until 1.0.2. Even early access allowed change. The system I play EHM on is an MSI apache gaming laptop. Exact model is an MSI GE62 2QF-276US. I can pretty much play every modern game out on at least high settings. No way my system isn't up to snuff. I love EHM so much that I'm going to spend a few hrs doing a fresh install of Win10 just to eliminate any doubts there.

Yup, okay, that should do it. Better than my computer.
Still, if would advice trying lowering the detail level, as the very top detail isn't really necessary in just regular gaming. Full database isn't needed, unless you play a very low end team, that has use for the type of players who can barely stand on their skates. Enhanced and full detail on all leagues also not needed, unless you're really interested in every little detail of every little league and player. I personally just have NHL, AHL and ECHL at enhanced, when playing with one of those teams, and just the Finnish leagues, when playing with my Finnish Liiga team. The game will still simulate the rest of the world adequately enough to create statistics and player progression, teams signing players and staff, and all that is required for scouting and signing players from other leagues and countries.

You have a good point. Will apply it when back up and running. Just strange that up until 1.0.2 I never had an issue with the data size. I still think the current build needs some fine tuning. I'm not at all trying to kick the dev team down, I've been a fan of this sim for close to 10 years and real glad it's been given new life. I just know the program well enoughh to know when something isn't right.

Well, I'm just guessing here, but there have been numerous improvements to the AI, and while it might still have it's faults, many things have improved, and that might make the simulation slower. I think it's a good trade-off.
