Agree with nino, keep the score counter but add the goal and assist totals.

I do not care about the assist total. Not in real life summaries at least in North America. The goal total is definitely something I would like to see. Maybe too much of a tie in from match engine to the stats thing for right now? Dunno. But would love to see it since it is in every summary you see for hockey. Do not care about the icons to the left. Never once looked at them.

I like the idea of have the season goals next to their name on the score sheet. They had this in the original EHM from back in the day, it would be nice to have it back.

I guess what I would like the most is a detailed tutorial for how to work all aspects of the game.
I just downloaded it today and I am having a hard time navigating through all the different menus.
I spent 10 minutes trying to find the free agents and when I did it showed me guys who weren't actually even free agents. They were all members of foreign teams (i.e. Kovalchuk) and I couldn't sign any of them. It also kept giving me emails saying "Finalize your jersey numbers" and "Make your final training camp cuts" when I had/have no idea how to even find those menus. Half the time I find what I'm looking for by accident.

It would be nice if a players birth city was an important factor to what bantam / midget / junior teams the player plays on. For example a player born in Toronto, ON will most likely not be playing Bantam / Midget AAA in Thunder Bay, ON. This could even be used for player progression to Junior Leagues with each team having a "local player use" rating or something and in terms of players not wanting to report to teams far away from home.

Having the totals would be nice, but with the logos that screen looks very crowded

I like this suggestion a lot, and also extend it to US High Schools.

I would love to have team average stuff somewhere, like age, weight, length and similar. That is a pretty "realistic" attribute to show.

The Information tab used to have at least the average age in EHM2007.

I know, that is where I got the idea from.

Yes. Absolutely, except for the exceptions that cause things to go insane. In Western Canada there is a new high school hockey league that is taking away great prospects for junior and even future NHLers from the minor hockey program. Things be a changing. Kids are moving as young as 13 to play in different areas than where they are from more than they were 10 years ago when it was just moving to Notre Dame or to Shattuck St Mary's. The American kids are moving all over the place as well. Guys from Washington, Arizona, Texas playing in Detroit and CHicago. Guys from Idaho playing in California. It is very different, and is going to continue to go even further this way.
So in principle for the great majority of players...they play in their regions, but alot of the prospects are moving around now. EHM 07 if it had correct teams was actually something that was modelling this a bit. It did not have correct teams and leagues like the Hockey Academies playing in the CSSHL but it was moving guys around for sure, and so is EHM EA.

I would like to have tooltip-popups in the tactis Screens that actually decribes what each tactic does , for which Player it fits etc. to give you a general idea. Baically the TBL tactics thread as pop-up when longer scrolled over, tool tip.

What also would be nice woudl be an Option to "lock in" players in certain positions in the tactics lineup with a tick. So you can lock some players in and let the AGM decide the rest when clicking auto-lineup.

Wants
-Retained Salary in trades
-Better player development for user controlled teams
-The goal/assist total on the in game stat sheet from a couple of posts ago
-I'd like to have an overall rating that averages out the players attributes. A quick and easy way to see overall rating and potential like in the EA sports GM mode would make scanning for free agents much easier.
-Ability to relocate/expand teams in league
Are the game developers looking at this thread? Is there a chance any of the great ideas in this thread are implemented? Or is this just kind of a fantasy dream thread?

Developers are busy, but Riz regularly visits our forum. Can't guarantee he'll read this particular thread, but yes. He's around. I'm sure he reads up from time to time.

Couldn't find anything definitive in my searches, but does EHM take advantage of multithreading? Would a quad core processor be better than a dual core at the same clock speed? (especially for background games)
I have a dual core cpu and when checking it via task manager, the cpu never seems to be fully consumed when EHM is going full throttle.
I remember back in the day...developer John Carmack put in an option for multicore processing (enabled in config as "smp 1") in one of his developmental patches for Quake 3.

Not likely. Not a heavy graphics game. So really does not take much to run it. Sure a faster processor makes things faster, but it is pretty good IMHO.
