I kind of withdrew from getting hyped for tonights game... I knew the Steelers would be the better team and most-likely win, yet I still have to root for the Dolphins for the sake of my fantasy team(I have the Dolphins defense and nobody from Pittsburgh).

That was one slack-ass flag tossin display... he's lucky one of those big Milwaukee's Best Light cans didn't come down and crush him! Men should get the refs attention with a definitive action and decisive overhand throw of the challenge flag. :-D

It's really wierd... I feel all off kilter already because it's very seldom that we are not the early noon game here in Chicago. So having the afternoon game has thrown my schedule all out of whack.

I'm feeling out of whack because I got whacked by a cold this wknd too, but at least I'm feeling better than Trent Green  who is still down on the field after about 15 minutes now... :help:

They just showed that hit in the Panthers game.

Ouch...

Have they had any reports on whats wrong? Looked like a head or neck injury which is not good.

The only thing I heard is that he has feeling in all his extremeties and was still in the stadium not rushed to the hospital. He does however, literally not know what hit him and memory gaps are never a good sign for the long-term...

I've been playing Madden 07 a bunch and I'm confused on a few things, so I figured I'd ask here.

What is the point of an extra-point field goal? it seems noone ever misses them, it just slows the game down.

Where is the ball placed after a 'touch back'?

Where the hell do they come up with these abbrivations for positions? LOLB? ROLB? FS? SS?

Whats the difference betweeen a Half-back, a Full-back and a Tight End? They all just seem like runner's who can double as WR's if needed.

Why do the Vikings have so many players with similar names?

1. I have no idea either... it's just what they do ;)

2. I believe it gets placed on the 20 yard line.

3. Left Outside Line-Backer, Right Outside Line-Backer, Free Safety, Strong Safety.

4. The Half-Back is the main runner. He can also recieve(common) and block for the QB on passing plays. The Full back is a running back who mostly blocks for the half back. He can also recieve and run, but he mostly blocks. Tight Ends are guys who play on the outside of the offensive line, and they are guys who can run routes like recievers, but are also string enough to be an extra lineman. Based on their skills, some will mostly block, and some will mostly recieve. Or if they're well balanced, they'll do both

The main reason at this point for the extra points is that teams do still have the option to "go for two" like in the College game; they get six points for the touchdown and can then kick for a point or try to run/pass the ball into the endzone for two points.

You'll see it more often when a team has taken a safety or there are a lot of field goals in a game as that messes with the usual scoring progression making it the extra point worth the gamble, especially late in games. Down eight? Might as well go for two and try to tie it up, since even with an extra point you're still down 1 and would need a FG to win. The coaches actually have a little chart that tells you when to go for it. The points after aren't automatic though as big games have been lost from them being missed or blocked, especially outdoors in say late Janaury in Chicago for example.

A fair catch is called by the reciever of a punt or kick off if there is too much pressure for him to catch the ball and make a run up field.

Pretty much it's a call so he doesn't get rocked by the kicking team and possibly fumble the ball and/or have a serious injury. :-D

I have a quick question about ESPN fantasy football. Will I be able to bench a player that has played this weeks game already (like in hockey)? or will he be taking one of the roster spot and I wont be able to play a player that has a different gameday? :-?

No players have played this week yet; so... yes you can currently move anyone into/out of your lineup for week two and can do so right up until their game kicks off. Only at that point will they lock in to where you have them set at. Once players lock in they no longer have the dropdown menu available to set them to bech or active. After the week's games finish then everyone is cleared for the next week.
