first period end

4:0 Canada

Absolutely no chance. Every mistake is punished mercilessly. We are simply too harmless and make too many mistakes in the playmaking and on the defensive.

looks like it might get to double digits. This looks to be the worst German team I've seen in many years. Will be tough to avoid relegation I think.

Second Period end:

9:0 Kanada..

What can you say it. It's just missing too much players of quality.
More than 24 players have canceled due to injuries. Add to the fact NHL players who have no desire or are silent on the road in the playoffs. For us, a disaster! :bag: Some players simply do not belong in the national team. But we have not got a better in moment.

Clearly, our target is to avoid relegation.

10:0 Thank God it's over!

On Tuesday against the Alps globetrotter!

110% increase in performance required!

Last time Germany played Canada on World Championships was in 2008 - and it ended 1-10.

So, I would say, Germany is keeping traditions :-D

Finland won Denmark 3-0. I'm not satisfied with Finland so far.

Our defence is certainly not convincing. Rinne had a better day, though, and hopefully that shutout will give him confidence.

Why did Russia lose to USA? Anyone watch the game? Looks like USA will go to the semifinals now at least.

Canada Sweden tomorrow. I hope I can see the game somehow. They're only showing Finland's games here in Finland these days (it sucks).

Gotta love Mike Smith, already let 2 softies go :) Canada is far from impressive so far, forwards getting outworked and D showing it's flaws, 2 periods left so things can obviously turn real fast with that much skill up front.

6-4 Canada now with 2 min to go, our inexperience on D really showed these last 2 periods, lots of individual mistakes, add to that the skill Canada has in their forwards and they will score :P

Entertaining game CAN-SWE. I think both goalies were pretty bad. Smith was worse though..

It's been an entertaining start to the championship, but I've seen A LOT of errors from all teams, even the top teams.
Hope that sorts itself out as the important rounds come closer

I haven't watched so many games. But Finland sure has a lot to improve. Only Barkov's line has been good. The rest pretty bad.
As a surprise Esa Lindell has been our best D-man, defensively and offensively (maybe a future NHL'er). 8-)

Clearly Smith wasn't worse. Simple math tells you that. :-D Actually, not even math...just looking at the score.

Smith did let 2 real softies though, Nilsson didn't. Smith did however play pretty good in the 2nd and 3rd, Canada just generated better chances and had better finishes aswell, that's what quality forwards give you :)

Yeah he did. And then....6 goals to 2 rest of the way.

Yeah, Canada won, just saying that Smith played worse individually then Nilsson, not by a big margin though.

Stats doesn't tell everything. Nilsson > Smith in that game IMO, period.

Belarus just beat USA 5-2! I suppose the US players drank one too many the day before yesterday when they were reportedly out in Ostrava drinking.
