If that's the case, you have two options as far as I know: 1. Use the second code you should have. 2. Contact e-License and tell them what happened to your computer; they may give you your first code back(since you really weren't able to do anything beforehand).
I think eLicense is having problems. Back when EHM was active, I rarely saw posts about this, now there's been a few here, and a bunch at the sigames forums regarding it. It happened to me too. I have it installed on two computers at home. I hadn't played it in months, but when I went to try it again, it have me license errors. I never reinstalled them or anything, it just had stopped working.

I guess there could be problems at eLicense, but this definitely sounds like a classic, and well posted about, case of trying to reinstall a license that hasn't been uninstalled(and thus, the server sees it as still being in use).

I lost a license due to a hard drive crash... Then i emailed elicense and they never ever responded. I sure wish I could have gotten my license back... might come in handy some day.

It might be worth e-mailing SI Games. They might be able to contact eLicence more quickly than we can. Indeed, they might actually get a reply whereas we don't...

Good luck with that. I've been trying for months to get my first license released from a dead hard drive with absolutely no response form eLicense. I haven't tried SI. All I know is that I will never buy another piece of software without a hard copy. I haven't had a good experience in 3 tries (different software) with digital licenses. I paid for it, I should be able to use it.

I'm really surprised that you've had so many problems with digital licenses. I've bought other games and even "real software" (Norton Internet Security) by download and digital license. The only problem I've ever had was when SI used Softwrap. Whenever they updated the software I had to contact them to have them give me more license uses. Other than that, it's always been smooth sailing. As a matter of fact, I misplace CDs so much, that it's been easier for me to reinstall things when I've gotten a new computer. I just save the license info in a folder in my hotmail.

I have mailed Sigames and eLicense and noone answer my e-mails :(

Guess, I have to buy a new one to play... This problem sucks...
Dammit! Computers crash, what shall we do?

Hmmm...

Good luck, Gottschlich. I have to say I'm quite worried about this - what happens if, some time in the future, eLicence were to stop operating? We'd all have a worthless game... :dunno:

I thought a licence could be used for two simultaneous installations? So if you forgot to first unregister, shouldn't it count your reinstallation as a second licence?

If someone unlicensed the first installation and try to re-install on a second computer, will it works with your saved game?

Then if you do again the same process will it also work?

I'm asking because I wan't to install the game on both my laptop and PC but it seems I can't get a second license.
(I have to travel and want to play on my laptop and back home on my pc)

I forgot to unlicensed on my old PC and it was reformat.

BTW I also contacted SI but still no replies.

Yes, saved games should work regardless of what you do with installations.

As for your second license, it sounds to me like it's gone unless you can get eLicense to do something... either by directly contacting them or having SI do it. So I guess just hang-in there and hope one of the two sides replies. :dunno:

I think some angry customer feedback would be in order to get their heads straight. The fact that EHM has ceased further development does in no way reduce our right to get full customer service and keep enjoying the game we've bought until doomsday, if we so desire.

What I don't understand is why I never had this problem. My laptop crashed with the game not unlicensed and I got a new computer shortly after. I loaded it onto my desktop with the license on my original receipt and it worked fine. A couple weeks later when I got my laptop back from repairs I loaded it on there too and it worked.

I legitimately purchased it, and I only put it on the computers I own. Did I do something wrong?

Same here, mr NoPantsTuesday (thank god it's sunday now!! :-D ). I have used this license atleast three times now, due to Windows reinstalls, and so far I have not unlicensed it ever. Works fine. :dunno:

This is an interesting (and perhaps worrying) post over at the SI EHM Forums (link):
Graeme Kelly wrote:We didn't really have much choice when picking a distribution partner, we've released versions of EHM with various digital download systems and they're all pretty much the same. We couldn't afford a boxed release and we picked eLicense because we needed something to allow us to release the game. Unfortunately would have expired, so I'm not sure that we could apply any pressure to them any more (if issues came up), but it's not really my job and never has been so maybe I'm wrong.

Sega are actually meant to provide the support for EHM and all of SI's games(we are just the developer, a small company in comparison to Sega). I doubt now that anyone at Sega support would be familiar with EHM though, which is pretty much why we've kept these forums for the game even though it's been dropped for over a year now and that there is nobody else working on it and no new sales. There are enough knowledgable people on the forums to deal with any non-licensing issues (which eLicense should be covering for EHM for as long as they are operating, as far as I know).

Unfortunately removing eLicense altogether is also not an option - you may have seen when we released the last patch that we couldn't do any more because of licensing. These licencing agreements prevent us from releasing any further updates to the game at all (unless we relicense, and we won't get a license from the NHL for a game that is out of date). Even if we could do that, we'd need to pay for and license a standard copy protection system (if as suggested, it works like FM). Releasing the game for free is also not an option, I've already asked, and we're not even allowed to release an update to the game with an updated eLicense library file either (if they fixed any bugs in their system).

As for whether SI reads the forum, then the answer is pretty much no. Anyone working on EHM at the "end" is now approaching 18 months in their new roles; the simple answer is that it's not our job any more, whether we care or not we just don't have the time. Well, I can't speak for Riz but I certainly don't :). There are enough knowledgeable users on the forum plus mne2 the fine upstanding moderator whom along with a bunch of you guys from beta testing days have MSN details for Riz and myself should anything major come up that isn't a licensing issue. I don't think the situation is as bleak as you suggest, if someone ended up with a problem that needed us to look at then I would hope we'd be able to assist. I've completely forgotten how the game works now to be honest, I didn't even get time to play this version because I spent all my spare time putting extra stuff in before "the end".
This quote covers a number of different issues with EHM (i.e. SI no longer supporting the game, e-license issues) but please try not to go off-topic. This thread is solely for licence and order ID issues. Please use another thread if you wish to discuss other aspects of this quote (perhaps this one).

Hey guys.............

Had LOADS of problems with my laptop and had to flatten it. Unfortunatley when I re-booted Thunderbird (my email thingy) it has lost the email with my lisence details on.

Is there anyway of getting this again? Looked on eastsidehockeymanager.com but couldn't see anything.

Anyone had trouble un-licensing EHM in Vista Home Prem.? I cannot open the eLicense folder in the CP. I tried using the ExporerXP software posted earlier in this thread, but to no avail. Any help?

only advice i could find on it was to do this

"To unlicense, go to a command prompt and go to the directory where the game is located. Find the EXE file. So for example if you were unlicensing Title Bout, you'd enter a command of TB2.exe -unlicense. That will initiate the form which allows you to click a button to unlicense."

it does unlicense it but the froum they weren't sure how well the process had worked, so :dunno:
