I think you're using custom database.

That errors means something corrupted databasefiles i think?

Do you edited that database youreself? Youre maybe not good editor. Give up ](*,)

Just download 1.0 Lidas rosters.

Your game is corrupt. Nothing you can do about it except start fresh.

Next time use the "Save Safely" option and autosave frequently, then you'll have four save games - if one fails, three others will remain.

Did you say this happens on ALL of your save games? If so, then you have a problem unrelated to EHM. Or atleast I've never seen or heard of that happening on EVERY save game. :-k

Try running the Error Checking tool. It might be that your hard disc has developed an error (this can be caused by numerous things; eg. a voltage spike, or prematurely turning off the power before properly shutting down, a crash, etc). Bruins72 encountered this problem and solved it using Error Checking.

To do this, right click on the hard disc on My Computer, click on Properties -> Tools -> Error Checking. Choose the thorough/complete scanning option. This may take a few hours to complete but it might do the trick.

Nobody can print the stats. You have to take a screen shot, and do things by pen and paper.

I believe it has something to do with one of the Databases you have. Which have you downloaded (or edited) and which do you intend to use. Try using a different DB in when you choose to start a new game...

MOD NOTE: Just looking at your error, it seems that the database you are using is for 3.0.2 and you're running EHM ver 3.0.4. You're using an old DB. - B72

Make sure you are using the right patch. Make sure you don't use the Mac version of the patch.

Maybe if one of you would be so kind as to zip your database file and send it to me. i could replace it with my own and try that? thats the only idea ive got left. let me know if you'd like to help

So you are deleting the entire Sports Interactive folder from your Program Files folder after you've uninstalled EHM 2007? If that folder is still there you could have a bad database sitting there and the install might not overwrite it.

Have you deleted the patch as well? You should download a new copy of the patch. Where did you download the patch from? There's always a chance that there was some corruption in the patch download.

Yeah, after I uninstalled the game I deleted the entire si folder. After reinstalling it I dowloaded a fresh patch from the official si website. I can't remember where I got the other patch from but I'm not using it. Like I said the only idea I've got right now is if somebody could send me their entire db folder with the lidas roster update inside. The error msg seems to be hinting toward a db problem.

Somebody else's DB folder isn't going to help. If you've deleted whatever database was there, you should be getting a new one with the patch. Somebody else's database isn't going to help.

You get this error when you open EHM? It's not something you get from loading an existing saved game? When exactly does the error pop up? On launching EHM? Creating a new game? Loading a saved game?

The problem is occuring after the game is launched. the main menu works fine. its when i click on new game, it begins to load and when the load bar is almost complete i get the message. i'm just starting to get back into the game, so i dont have any save files to load.

and the reason i thought it might help for somebody to send me their database file is because the error says db. so i just thought it might be some kind of error in the database when i patch it.

***UPDATE***

i just found an old save file and it LOADS =D so maybe someone could start a game, save it right away then send it to me?

I don't know why you are so set on somebody sending you a file. That isn't going to solve anything. There is something wrong with your install or your update, plain and simple. Copying somebody's save or db might let you get a little further but it's not going to fix your problem. You'll just run into another problem with it a little bit later.

What you need to do is...

1. Unlicense the game.
2. Uninstall the game.
3. Delete the "C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007" folder and all of it's contents.
4. Run a complete scan disk and defrag on your computer.
5. Reboot in safe mode with network support
6. Log into to a user id that has administrative rights for that computer. This is very important because files may not be updated if the current user id doesn't have admin rights.
7. Download EHM 2007 again. Make sure you get it from the SI site.
8. Install EHM 2007 and re-license it.
9. Launch EHM and click "Check For Updates"
10. Download a fresh copy of the patch.
11. Install the patch.
12. Reboot the computer.
13. Launch EHM and start a new game.

Somewhere along the line one of these above steps is NOT happening. I can say that with confidence because the error you are getting refers to db files for version 3.0.2 and that means your game isn't being properly updated from version 3.0.2 to 3.0.4.

Disk I/O error

I just started my game up from play last night and I'm getting this error.

Disk I/O error

Unable to access data from disk. Debug info v3.0.4 file_llist.CPP 238(FILE_LLIST::add_node(): cannot open file)

NHL EASTSIDE HOCKEY MANAGER 2007 has been unable to write data to disk, reasons for this could be (1) lack of disk space, (2) file locked by system, (3) bad sector on disk being written to.

Please help me guys!!!

First, look and see if you've actually got more than 1 GB of disk space free. If so, unlicense and then uninstall EHM. Once you've done that, go to C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive and delete the whole "NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007" folder. Then run both scandisk and defrag on your computer. Once you've done all of that, install EHM from scratch, update to 3.0.4 and then try to launch it. Don't add in anything else, like custom DBs, skins or graphics, until you've done done all of this and tested to see if the game will launch.
