Few pics I edited (those "1982-1983" and the first one).
There is also a proof that you can create players under 13 years old.
I'm using 1991 database but changing some attributes and ages etc.

Devils88 Just wondering if your the one that creates the players for this database who aren't in it i have some questions about some players because I am trying to make the Edmonton Oil Kings and need your help about some of thier prospects that they just drafted...

What do you need to know about the Oil Kings prospects? The TBL:DB was not a roster update for teams to 2007-08 so nothing about the Oil Kings would be in it. It just unfaked everything that was already in the game.
There may one day be a roster update for the NHL, WHL,OHL,QMJHL, ECHL and British leagues, but this is not complete yet.
Also, I am sure you are aware that the Oil Kings will have to replace another team in the WHL because you cannot add extra teams to a league, or the game will crash.
Anyway, Devils...keep up the good work
The roster update for 07-08 is being worked on, but the WHL is yet to be included in it. One day maybe, but not yet.

well the potential ability can be 0, 1-10, or 11-15,
0 means everythin will be randomised for the future,
-10, world class franchise potential, only tavares, frolik and EJ have this,
-9, 1st line talent, class player,
-8, 1st or 2nd line talent, depends on current ability
-7, good 2nd line talent,
-6, 3rd line,
-5, 4th liner, AHLer
-15, random, either a hit or a flop
-14, random, flop or good 2nd liner
so on...

The only thing is that i donno what these players are going to be like because they are only 14-15 yrs old so what i did was put 70 and -6 and for the last draft picks some of them i put -5 think that is realisitic?

well current skill level for a 14 year old is much lower than 70!!! i have players like Luke Moffat (drafted 2nd overall in this years WHL bantam draft), hes 15 and has a current level as 45, and potential as -9, and hes expected to be a top prospect at that, i also have people like steve anthony (drafted in QMJHL 10th overall), at 35 and -9
i do it so that people who i have heard of, are -9ers, and people that are a little less known at the age they're at as
-14/-15

So players say rounds 1-5 put at 45 current ability and potenial at -9 and then rounds 6+ 35 -9
Posted: Wed Jul 18, 2007 11:20 pm
by getzlaf15
not necessarily,
some first rounders turn out rubbish, and some fifth rounders may not be good, but most cases, 1st rounders will be -9, 2nd -8, 3rd -7, 4th -6, 5th -5, but it can be entirley random
but if i remmeber correctly, Pat Kane was a fifth rouinder in OHL, and look at him now
not every1 is a -9 potential

who is "they", i dont have him in my database, but due to the fact he was drafted so late, may mean he's either expected to go to college, or wont be very good, but we can't predict the future, i wish ,
also, are you sure its his son, ulf was from sweden, and this phillip guy is from arizona, doesn't make much sense to me???

NHL hall of famer Ulf Samuelsson
Huh? Did I miss something? But yeah, his kids would likely have been born in the USA or Canada. Like Paul Stastny.

Philip Samuelsson, the 15-year old son of ex-New York Ranger Ulf Samuelsson, was the Oil Kings tenth pick (199th overall, 10th round). A 6’1”, 185 pound, defenceman, Philip plays for P.F. Chang’s Hockey in Phoenix, Arizona.

I know Devils88's update doesn't have any attribute updates but i was just thinking if some of the edmonton oil King players need some changes to their attributes because i have been checking some of their players our and some of them are all red in attributes but not sure how good or bad they are because I havn't seen any whl games so

players that are in their 17-19 do they generally develop better or no

MKoivuFan - your questions have
absolutely nothing at all to do with the NHL Roster Update Project so you should have started a new thread rather than making the Update thread go so wildly off-topic. Ensure that you read
the Forum Rules before making another post.
With regards to your question, you could set your young players' current ability to 0 because this will make EHM randomly generate their ability based on their age, etc.

MKoivuFan - please, please read the rules before making another post. I've deleted yet another one of your completely off-topic posts from the NHL Update Thread and have pasted it below:

Roster update projects - discuss your project here!

Hey.
I have for the last couple of years used TBL as my main source to info and add-ons for EHM. This site is amazing and i want to start off by saluting all of you who put in the effort and time by making facepacks, logos, skins and so on. You are doing an amazing job!
But since the disaster has hit us that they wont make a new EHM game, i am beginning to worry about DB updates and small bugs in the game. Will there be an updatet DB when the new season starts from TBL?
Thanx, and again, great job!

First of all, welcome to TBL
There are many projects on actually, including the
TBL:DB which unfakes all the game, and some of our users are working to update the rosters for the 07-08 season. It's a lot of work, but it will come in time, around the start of the season to be as up-to-date as possible

Thank you for the warm welcome
I will keep my eyes peeled for the database update! Looking forward to the new season!!
Thank you verry much for the info...

Attributes Update

by MKoivuFan
With all of the credit going to archibalduk and his staff for the roster updated and how they are just going to do the rosters i thought i would do a list of attributes that need to be fixed and once archibalduk and his staff have doen the roster then i can go in and fix all of the attributes. The only thing i ask is that if you say to fix something could u please be specific of what needs to be fix...
Example Slapshot from 6 to 9 or deking from 4 to 11 etc... Thanks

Even if this sounds to be an interesting project, i really wonder what will you be based on to say that player X should have attribute Y at a Z level.
Are you a professionnal scout that goes to see players live and have the skill to determine precisely what their ability is? If so, then you have the tools to make such a project and we could support it
Else, things should be messed more than tweaked, especially if you ask people to tell which attributes would be changed. What is the precise knowledge of this people? Aren't they overrating a player (or a team) they really like? And all a bunch of issues like that.
That's the reason why TBL never supported attribute changes until now. Even if we'd like an attribute update with the upcoming new season, we can't support everything regarding attributes. Keep in mind that changing attributes changes the balance of the game, both on short and long terms.
I hope you understand all of that

good point Shadd666 never thought of that just ppl say even on the SI board so and so is underratted and so and so is overrated thats why i just thought of doing this

SI boards became a mess unfortunately

At least in the EHM section, especially since the announcement of the end of the devellopment. Normal. They have to focus on their alive projects.
Back on topic, i have some doubts about the potential quality of an attributes update made the way you described it for all the mentionned reasons. If it was that simple to make a serious attributes update, it would already have been done for a long time. But we are not scouts, we don't have scout skills, most of us can't even go to see live a NHL game, and so we can't make a serious job about attributes. And we see no use in providing joke-projects, so we never made nor supported any attributes modification, and will certainly not until we have skilled enough people to do so.
Sorry to rain on parade on your project, but i think you understand why we prefer this way
