I drafted Philip Samuelsson. He's still under 20 years old and I haven't decided whether to let him go to college or if I should sign him and assign him to my AHL affiliate.

In my save Atlanta signed him and let him play 2 full seasons of AHL. Then called him up midway through the 3rd season and since then hes only played 6 AHL games.bruins72 wrote:I drafted Philip Samuelsson. I'm using the Lidas database, so he might be different. Still, Samuelsson looks good.Lakrisal wrote:In my save Atlanta signed him and let him play 2 full seasons of AHL. Note that im using Systemfels database and not Lidas so i dont know how he is there.
I'm in my 5ft year in a guy, and one of the star of the league was pick in the 3 round, so there you goGeld1941 wrote:Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum and finally thinking about buying the game. I played '05 and one of my biggest concerns with the game was that drafting a player in rounds 2-7 was useless. I played careers lasting 20seasons and didn't once get a star player outside of the 1st round. Most of the quality players were the top picks of draft also, the top player being virtually guaranteed to score 100 pts his rookie season, with not busts or diamonds in the rough.
So my question has this been fixed and is it possible that my next 30 goal scorer can be found in the 4th round?
thanks a lot for any help you guys can offer
I drafted Samuelsson in the 3rd round. He wasn't ranked, and no one seemed interested. I hadn't scouted him yet if I remember right, but he had really good stats so I picked him up. He's leading his Junior league in points by about 20 even though he's a defenseman. Scouts say he's only a no. 7 potential, but maybe he'll shape up more when he plays college.bruins72 wrote:I'm using the Lidas database, so he might be different. Yes, I've noticed they can. It seems that if a scout is scouting a player who has a bad game, then they sometimes won't be considered a good prospect. But I'll have them scout them again, and if they have a good game, they are sometimes considered a good prospect. You really just have to keep an eye on their progress.deathknot wrote:does anyone know if what the scouts projection can change over time.
because i have a guy i drafted(forget name) who was projected to basically be nothing more than a bottom feeder in the minors but he has managed to get himself on my 3rd line and have 3 seasons of 40-60 points range
Regens are way to go to cheat CPU.Otso wrote:I've drafted Jagr and Leetch regens on the fourth round, just gotta know where to look
Now that Wall guy could not be more impressive, who is he a regen of? A 7rd pick you say, he was anything but a scorer in juniors, and had poor performances there, then the next season he makes it on your team (how did he make the team btw) somehow and has a huge rookie season, and goes on to average over 30 goals and 80 PTS a season for his career, did he win the Calder btw?RyanSmythe wrote:One of my best players was taken in the 7th round.
He's never scored 100p (2 season at 99p each though)
And 11 of the 12 seasons he has played he has scored 30+ goals
Ironically my scouts still say he sucks and that he is not good enough for my current lineup....But my coaches say he is a key member of the team.... all the contradictions
His Stats

The remaining scouts that i have (normally left with about 3) i send off to the draft intensively, 2 of them searching for just under 20's. That way i cover most of the countries and most of the prospects for the draft. Sometimes you can snag a decent player in the later rounds. There aren't many though (look outside the draft rankings too, that's where they normally come from).
Rant over., No. I look for the Tony Hand regen who wouldn't be bad as an NHLer. But no look as of yet... I don't know why i send them to britain, just on that odd occasion there may be someone there.
I traded him, I guess the AI is close to being right when they consider him a future franchise player.Peterman5000 wrote:Hugh freakin Jessiman.
He always becomes a solid 2nd line player for me.
I don't understand however, why every asst. gm i have ranks him as a low RW.
The guy just puts up the points.
Seems like a bit of a waste to me.EK_ wrote:not a bad 6th rounder. Most are garbage at that point. I find a good ranked prospect occasionally but I usually pick an over-ager and sign him to play on the farm team; at least he's doing some good as oppose to some guy that may never pan out altogether/
College, doesn't he play in Sweden?bruins72 wrote:I drafted Philip Samuelsson. He's still under 20 years old and I haven't decided whether to let him go to college or if I should sign him and assign him to my AHL affiliate.
Never heard of Tony Hand? Just be glad Calv hasn't seen thisIceTimer wrote:getzlaf15 wrote:Apart from meReynaldo28 wrote: You ever had a player from Britain?, No. I look for the Tony Hand regen who wouldn't be bad as an NHLer. Tony Hand regen, never heard of Tony Hand before?
There is the odd British player remotely worth considering, in the 07' draft there is a guy who was at least born in Britain, might also be Canadian, name is O'Connor and plays in the OHL for Windsor I think, in the 09' draft I came across a guy in the ISS rankings who is playing in Britain I believe.
Nope. I believe he was born in Sweden but he's Ulf's kid, so he spent a good amount of his life in the US. He's a freshman at Boston College this year. The HockeyDB says he's played 34 games with 11 points and 34 PIM.IceTimer wrote:College, doesn't he play in Sweden?bruins72 wrote:I drafted Philip Samuelsson.
