I may decide to stay for the whole jam today, I'm not sure.....

When is everyone moving on to LA?

Hey Joe; why don't you just emulate our tour stops and do the same three weekends worth of shows, maybe spread yours out two weeks instead though so everyone has the money for sure.
You can go to the TDG show schedule and click through to the names of where we are playing and see if it allows you to book gigs w/o being present, if it doesn't just email the CEO and ask them to send you an invite that you're arranging a tour

It really is worth the VIP to have the booking assistant you get as it shows you the quality and prices for all jam locations and the quality of gig locations all around the world with a few selections of the menu...

Next Saturday... I'm flying back to NYC after the show; if you don't go back to NYC you'll get charged each day for hotels.
You get charged automagically for staying in a hotel each day because we aren't in NYC; I set our band prefs to stay in cheap hotels so hopefully it won't be much. My Paris hotel was only 50 bucks.

quick question: how does someone become your lover? and how do you become someone elses lover?
John Estrada, whoever you are, dont be my lover. I dont swing that way, I'm sure you're just trying to be friendly. Thanks buddy.

The game terms any person who you have a higher 'romance' factor with than 'friendship' factor with a lover. And If you take out your TBL -> Popo converter ring you'll see that John Estrada = Shadd who you might have noticed plays bagpipes in your band

One of the things your shows are rated on is the relationship of band members, so learn to deal

Yeah, and be happy that he isn't kissing you passionately. He just tickled your toes.

I can do so with nearly all the band now

lol But don't worry, i reserve it for women and women only
By the way, i've noticed that only Joe added me in his friend list

I think it should be good to have at least all the members of the band, and interact on a regular basis with them, as it will give more cohesion to the band when we play live.
Personnaly, i interact with
every single person who is in my "relation list" (don't know if it's the same term in english, i play in french)
every day. And the "love" bar should also be considered as a "love like a brother" kind, so it may less shock you

Good, 'cause I do so too.

Yeah, I realised after a time, but in the beginning I was shocked and that Tyrone was bisexual or something.

lol. I had the first reaction at the beginning. I wasn't
shocked, as i don't care he is or not, but i'd like to have the choice. Then i thought about the brother's love thing, and with that you have the choice to be hetero, homo, bi, or just true friends.

There's a whole lot of man love goin on

(that's our "love you man" smiley)
For the record I just got my hotel bill: Stayed at a hotel. Cost: 74 US$. Just don't trash your hotel room until we are big enough rock stars to afford it. I don't want anyone getting thrown in the clink

Cause I ain't bailin ya out

hey minstrel, a few days ago I saw someone give you something like 4000$! my question is WHY and HOW?
also, where do the money from concert go to? I'm sure the band should be given some money generated by the concert, but where's the money from Never Dies' first concert?

All band ticket and sales money goes into the band account; this is why Never Dies has money in their account. That money can be used to book better jam sessions and is also the money that you need to use to buy your bands tour vehicle eventually, and individuals can't contribute money to that total so while you can distribute the money from shows it's better in the long run to keep the money in your band account and eventually purchase a better touring vehicle sooner.
As for the moneey I got I wish it was $4,000 that'd be awesome! But, it actually was about half that much; and that's from the owner of the Club I'm CEO of. To improve the club's rating he lowered my salary by about $2000 and instead just transfers me the money every week and I make the rest on payday. He's one of the most veteran players in the game, check out his info page by clicking on April's info page and then on my 'Friends' section and click on Luke Hall. He's like the Mick Jagger of PopoPunk, it was an amazingly lucky bit of timing on my part landing this gig and everyone has benefitted which I think is pretty badass

The last transfer from Luke I got mostly went to my buying everyone Yoga books
Only VIPs can be CEO's or own companies and only VIPs can transfer cash to each other. This is why I've been buying people books and instruments and the like because even though I have a ton of money I can't just give it to anyone. My "signing bonus" for flying out to Paris to meet my boss while he was on tour was $15,000 but I talked about that on the forum here when I made my Paris trip.

Our best show to date!!!

Nice to see that we all got a star next to our names and we now have two songs with a star next to them as well. I'm really pleased with the turnout and tommorow's show has already sold even more. With gigs you have to keep in mind the size of the town and in the Popo world Toronto is 17th largest while NY is 2nd:
http://www230.popomundo.com/common/World.asp
So drawing a crowd of 139 from a population base of 1406 (at $6 nonetheless) is pretty impressive I think; considering there are 4,000 more people to draw from for NYC shows.

Why not french horn?

We would have a very special punk band with a french horn and bagpipes!

Moving us to Competitions and Games Forum (not sure why I din't think of that earlier

) and making a thread in the Site News section for updates on this and and the racing game, both brought to our attention by joehelmer

Thanks again Joe! This has been a BLAST!
I made the post now and Kris if you want maybe you can some other new players could start your own band? I know the thread is initimidating at this point but I'm hoping we can get some new people to join in. It's more fun to have people at the same level working together I think. Would you be interested in being Band Leader of our third New York based TBL band? You guys would have lots of help.

Okay, the Popo section of the Knowledge Base has been created so we can keep a basic newbies guide and a TBL -> Popo conversion chart/band info page (Kris I added you as possible frontman for a third TBL project to be named later

). You can get to it via the 'Knowledge Base' link in the header or direct to the category via this link:

Are we heading back to NY first or straight to London?
Posted: Sun Nov 19, 2006 11:34 pm
by Minstrel
Well... London is in two weeks; we're in LA next weekend

If we go back to NYC we get our full pay and we don't have to pay for a hotel every day so this is why I've jsut booked us weekend shows for now.
And just when I thought that we'd never hook him in Archi is going to be joining us!!

I'm thinking maybe he can lead the third band project and expand our future TBL Label into the Metal genre... but it's up to him and whoever joins up with him though. I'm heavily lobbying for him to be another female character

Archi has just joined as Floyd Martel! I know a guy is supposed to be harder but I thought if most people are being ladies, I'd like to be a little different. Although I am starting to regret my decision to be a male and perhaps I should have thought more about my decision rather than recklessly choosing in the heat of the moment.
I initially didn't join Popo because I'm so busy with other things but I think I can find a spare 5 minutes every so often to play.
Kris - fancy forming a band with me?
B. Stinson - fancy forming a band with me?
Minty - do you think your friend Chris Numbers would join TBL so we could communicate should he join our band?
Can flea be part of our band or is that not possible because he's based in Barcelona?
I'm open to any band name suggestions. Minty suggested Azreal's Army
