Tell me about it. I think thats the reason it's taking me ages to improve my skills.
What happened to Palmer............ we left him in Toronto guys.......

Nope! I just didn't buy my return ticket until this morning. I should be back in NYC any time now. That plane is flying awful slow.

Minstrel told me of this game, and it sounds pretty cool. I'd like to join a band, if some of you are still looking either for a bass guitar player, or also trumpet, if you prfer it a bit more Ska-like

Yeah, you can be the third member of Floyd's Three Wheel Wagon, Archi's new Jazz group. Just sign in an make sure you set your character to start in NYC. Just let us know your in-game name so we can get in touch with you and Archi can invite you to join the band.

As Minstrel said, just let me know your in-game user name and I'll invite you to our jazz band
Currently we have me on sax and backing vocals, and Kris on lead vocals and electric guitar. I'd like to get a bassist and a drummer and hopefully also a pianist.

Do most of you guys in Never Dies have your own instrument? I dont have a drum and I dont think I'll be able to have one before the tour. I'm sooo very sorry. I just dont have enough money since I spend most of them on the book 'basic percussion instruments'...

thecoolstuff: actually, we don't have keyboard either. And the guy who does the backing vocals (don't remember who it is) don't have a micro...
If you're unable to buy your instrument before we go on tour, well... doesn't matter! we're punks after all! lol But try to get it as soon as possible

Just try and save up as much money as possible, what job do you currently have? go through the classifieds and try and get a more highly paid job

Also, try to 'focus on work' a lot, so you get full pay at the end of the week. I usually use 'focus on work' for at least one update per day, and it works well.

It's gone to the dogs I'm afraid...

ok that's good news (or bad depend how you look at it) not everybody has an instrument. But in two weeks I should have a drum set!
Where do I check how many star I've earned for my skill? aka, how do I check my progress of learning new skill?

Microphones you can get for like $70 so that shouldn't be a problem as that's buskin money

... April can make you a loan to buy a drum set as an early PopoChristmas present

Let me know what color set you want. My bonus money is running low from speading the wealth but it's better to help you guys out than have 10 grand just wasting away in the bank. Here's the color selections:
Drums (Black) 1 500 US$
Drums (White) 1 500 US$
Drums (Red) 1 500 US$
Drums (Green) 1 500 US$
Drums (Blue) 1 500 US$
Drums (Yellow) 1 500 US$
Drums (Purple) 1 500 US$
Drums (Pink) 1 500 US$
Drums (Brown) 1 500 US$
Drums (Grey) 1 500 US$
If you or one of the other Never Dies guys could buy Woody's character (and maybe Ryan's new character) a yoga book at
Goods & Gadgets for $210 bucks and get it to him that would help. With three new characters and the drums that's like 7 grand I'll have spent today so if one of ya could take care of that yoga book(s) it'd be cool.
Ryan... duuuude...

make a new character and post to the forum about getting Kelly back like I told you to how long ago now? And, if they ignore you? Well, they can't likely blitz you for having two characters if it's clear you don't have access to one of them you say "Hey, look at message #whatever I said I can't log in to that darn character!" so then you can just reinvent yourself with a new character that's a jazz musician

We could use another female character and I'm counting on you to play her

I think Floyd's would be great with a female bass player

Also it's not like really starting over since the other guys will be at your same level and you get to not waste all your money on dates you can't afford this time. We need you back in the game amigo!

I'm organizing a leg of the Tour of Cerebus that is going to be playing The Punks In The Hall so the official Tour bands are the hugest bands in the biz like Billy No Talent who sold their intital 500 tickets at $50 a piece between their accepting and my being able to get in and raise their ticket limit

I'm picturing Playstation 3 type crowds in from of our boxoffice
However those bands play at the end of the 7 day schedule so we have a bunch of other openings so I've invited Never Dies and The Dead Generation to play noon shows during the early days of the tour

I asked my boss and he said it's okay.

Minty, should indicate where are the cheapest keyboards please, as our keyboard player still doesn't have keyboards
Thanks for helping our drummer
For the yoga book(s), where are the cheapest ones? Not sure, but i'll maybe be able to offer one.

How often do I get these nwebie points? Every half day?
I've decided to do some busking just to get a dollar or two

I need to start saving for a sax!

Just added my new song to the repertoire. The melody is terrific and the lyrics are sweet. It takes the cake as the highest quality song TDG has.
Also, my old sax is still sitting in the Second Hand NY store for $490. I'd pick it up for you, but after plane and hotel costs I'm down to my last $350.

Wow, check out the big brain on Jeb...

Nice work amigo. I'll get us a jam slot to practice that bad boy!
I put the name of the store in my message about the yoga book, I'm sure you just overlooked it so I went back and made it bold

however here's the details on the keys at Low-priced Instruments NY:
Keyboard (Yellow) 1 555 US$
Keyboard (Pink) 1 555 US$
Keyboard (Red) 1 555 US$
Keyboard (Blue) 1 555 US$
Keyboard (White) 1 555 US$
I'd go with pink
Archi You get newbie points for 15 days at each "update". There is a random number of times per day that you get an update; at least two but up to 4+ and that is when you get the message in your diary that you did your "sapre time mission" and "career mission" you have set on your Priorities & Skills options.
Some things are affected by where you are when updates occur so it is wonderfully annoying that they are random, this is why I've been talking about being chained to my desk writing songs because I don't want to go talk to someone at the park because I get that Murphy's Law feeling like the second I leave my house I'll get an update
](./images/smilies/wallbash.gif)
:
Songs turn out better if you are at home working on them when you get your update.
Resting works better if you are at home or in a park.
Learning skills works better if you are at the University.
Working out works no matter where you are (as long as you have money) but you get a bonus for being at the gym at update time.
EDIT: Added the above to the Knowledge Base article 'About Updates' for future reference.

I'm trying to accept you invitation Minty. But it says that we can't afford it.
You don't have enough money to enter the competition.

by Minstrel
Ahh... you have to pay $500 from your band account to compete in the competition. Everyone pays in $500 and the top three split the pot. Wait until after your next show and you should be good. You don't have to confirm until right before your slot actually goes down so I'll keep it open fer ya since being a part of a competition is good for the band's fame especially since we'll be playing with legends

EDIT: BTW you have 50+ days before the show so there is plennnnnnty of time since we've only been playing for 33 at this point
BTW Senor Cool, I'm still waiting for ya to tell me what color drums you want or I'm buying ya purty pink ones

I think Palmer's stage name should be "The Germ" though

I see in your diary in back to back entries:
I feel weird... The doctor told me that it is Cold.
I'm feeling better now. The Flu has gone away.
I actually tried to change my stage name to "The Germ" or Palmer "The Germ" Haskins. I can't do it yet. It says you must have a star power of 50 to change (or create) a stage name.

Yeah, you totally got to use The Germ when we get big and famous enough; it's so Punk Rock
Speaking of germs apologies for April not being very social lately but I'm chained to my songwriting desk and have a cold so I haven't wanted to do my usual April the Kissing Bandit rounds and give everyone my cold

My song went of 10% at the last update though

it had been going by fives

Yikes! Good thing we'll all be getting paid around that point. I've been holding onto my cash just in case this happened. I wonder how bad London is going to be?

I've let so many of my NYC relationships go to pot. I hadn't been doing the rounds for several days before our road trip (health and mood issues) and then we were out of town for the weekend. You've really got to keep in touch with people in this game or things deteriorate quickly. I've still got 2 members of my own band that I can't seem to make friends with too!
