Mistakes in Latvian league:
In regular season each team have 35 games not 42.
In playoffs participate 6 teams not 4 (1/4 finals: 3rd against 6th and 4th against 5th till two wins (1-1-1), while semi-finals and finals are till 4 wins (2-2-1-1-1)).
The foreigner limit is 7 not 5.

Looks like there is an odd scheduling bug happening in year one of the sim for the WJC-U20's it never will finish for Group A as it schedules a game on 31.12.2020 instead of 2019. We are investigating and will patch in a fix once we find out what is going on. It only impacts the first year, the 2019 WJC's will finish properly in 2020+ it should be ok after that.

CJHL Leagues need the following updated rules:

- Maximum over-agers = 9 *BCHL/AJHL = 6, SJHL=8
- Maximum imports (Americans) = 6 *USA Based teams only allowed 2 Canadian Imports
- Roster Limit (Contracted + Active Roster) = 25 (Cut-down to 23 on Jan 10) *BCHL always 23
- Use Rights (Except BCHL) *Players contracts expire, their rights are still owned by team
- Cash in trades
- Should be able to trade inter-league (BCHL/AJHL, etc.)
- Maximum of 2 16 year olds

Awesome thank you, will update! Don't think inter-league trading is possible without making some crazy style league structure where each league is a conference (like how BK had it), but I found other issues with that setup. Cut-down size of rosters after a specific date isn't possible within the game code either.

Cut down I think is possible using "off-season roster limits" items in transfer rules?

And regarding trading yeah, when I was playing around with it the closest thing I got to interleague trading was setting the league transfer rules to IIHF - TRADES ALLOWED

I just struggled with having Americans as imports , I successfully did it once but can't figure out how to do it consistently !

What about reserve lists? How many players for each league?

I have a lot of issues with this myself, I think the US/Canada are considered domestic for each other, it's also why the USNTDP clubs don't function properly. I have raised this with Riz and I think it might be on the list for 1.5 (hopefully).

You wrote about that World J20 staff was fixed. But this game sadly just ignores any kind of National Coaches. All big teams on Senior and Junior levels are left without any real Head Coach. Very weird game indeed and truly sad. I can't see any other fix than just try to save at the start and try to edit in these coaches on national level. Not sure it will work ( I got little knowledge of the editor and what it can do).
In the end one perhaps sadly has to live with it.

We found removing any hard-coded senior level coaches in the database and letting them game create and assign those works fine. The junior level we were able to add back real-world assignments and have tested its working again...but could vary sim to sim pending on different things.

Hello there

I tried to start a new game today with the last iteration of the db (on steam).
Selected as "view only" only a handful of leagues : SHL, Swiss NLA, Finnish Liiga, Czech Topsport, Memorial cup leagues, AHL, ECHL..
Also retained teams and disabled extra stuff as recommended in the first post.

Game crashes when launching the game, I could proceed through team selection..

Any ideas ? I recall I didn't change anything lately and had 3 games working fine..


EDIT : I was able to start a new game today, weird...

It's related to the extra_config, lot of weirdness there. Try a reboot if it happens again.

I just tried loading up EHM for the first time in a long time to try the new trade deadline update and after selecting retain all teams the game crashes when advancing to the next screen. I tried it without selecting retain all teams and it loaded up fine. Just a fyi.

How do you get rid of the injuries from past updates? Dermott and Hyman are injured for quite a bit of time starting with this new update.

Maybe a stupid question but how have you guys implemented trade deadline changes - do the updates appear from the start of the 2019 season or how have you guys done this?

The game always crashes in February 2020 (8-9). Impossible to go further...

This is due to buggy extra_config code, it's something we have been fighting with. Glad you got it working but I can promise you it will load with the recommended settings, it may take a few times or you can try restarting your computer but it does start up properly.

You can remove the lines in the extra_config.cfg file, if that length of time was not accurate please provide me with the proper length of time/injury.

Yes they are in place from the start of a new game (July/August pending on what start date you use).

I'm not sure if this has been addressed already on here, but I have been noticing something with prospects in the most recent version of the database. There seems to be some prospects that have the same last name as real life hockey players that are born in the same place as those hockey players and with a similar potential to them as well. I first noticed this when I found new Sedin twins born in the same place as the actual Sedins.





Both of which have -9 potentials when I looked in the database. I found the same thing for players like Rinne, Weber, Crosby, Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Keith, etc.

Has anyone else noticed this in their game? Is this intentional or something that is not meant to be there?

It was said that there are 'sons' of star players in the database for future prospects depending on which database version you use. I've noticed also many prospects with familiar surnames. Personally I like this feature because then the long term prospects feel less generic.

FWIW these 'sons' will often share some details with their 'fathers' but the potential ability is not always the same. So when you look to draft these guys, a son of a legend will not automatically turn into a legend (I've checked this on the editor). In fact in some cases they may fall pretty far.

I'm seeing quite a few issues for users of the latest database update.

What I'm wondering is if the older versions are available for download somewhere. I have been using the 12.1.x December 25th updated database file with much success, but since Steam updates subscribed files automatically I have lost those files now.

Looking to start a new career with a tried and tested database but I don't know if I can get the one that I have been using anywhere.

Any help is appreciated...

That failing could someone confirm that the latest database can run problem free for many years and if yes, with which settings? The only must things for me is to be able to play in the NHL and with the prospect generator seeded.

Thats an interesting idea. While I have noticed that players like that exist in other versions of the database that I have saved and some do have very different potentials to their "parent" it seems like a lot of these players in the most recent version have very similar potentials to their real life counterparts. Just some bad luck with the RNG I guess?
