what i mean is, i have edited my game 100s of times, and was able to load the game, start a new game, and see the changes in the game immediatly just fine.all of a sudden a few nights ago, im still able to start a new game with that database that i have edited (which was lidas 2.3 i beleive, the last database he release before u took over) but when i load that same database into the editor,it only shows the original lidas 2.3 database that i started with, but doesnt show all the changes ive made (which were many,i spent hundreds of hours on it). so basically, ehm reads the files from C:\program files (x86)\sports interactive\nhl eastside hockey manager 2007\data\database\UPDATED\ as it was edited by me but the editor reads that same path C:\program files (x86)\sports interactive\nhl eastside hockey manager 2007\data\database\UPDATED\ as it was when i first started it using lidas 2.3 .so im able to start a game with my edited database which was about 80% complete, but for some reason,i cannot edit it anymore. there has to be a way that i can somehow export my files somehow.i mean,if i can start a new game with that database, i should be able to see it in the editor as i have a hundred times before. its driving me absolutely bonkers, ive even considered starting all over again, but man, that would be alot of wasted time. any insights? could it possibly be a windows 7 problem?

Have you tried copying the files into a new folder under a different name? I think that helped me sometime.

ya, i took the files and put it into a folder titled "TESTER" and when i loaded it to the actual game, it was lidas' rosters unedited by me.its really weird, cause if i load it directly from my "UPDATED" folder into the game,it is correct and edited by me, but if i copy and paste to a new folder, its lidas'. also,i just figured out something else thats really weird.if i leave the files in my "program files (X86)" and load the game starting with the "UPDATED" database, it loads my rosters, but if i move the entire sports interactive folder in to "program files" and load the "UPDATED" database to start a new game, it loads lidas' version.so basically,my edited database file somehow stays in the "program files (X86)" , but is unseen in windows explorer, but when i try and look for the path C:\program files (X86)\sports interactive\nhl eastside hockey manager 2007\data\database\UPDATED still shows with the editor.......but will not load.if i then take the sports interactive folder and move it from "program files" back to "program files (X86)" and load the "UPDATED" database to start a new game......it is once again my rosters.......its definatly a headscratcher.

Could someone help me out?
I wanted to try something different so I thought I'd move Russian and other European teams to the NHL(sort of make it like a super KHL) and move the real NHL teams to either other North American leagues or just make them defunct.
Well, I spent a couple hours doing that and made sure that all the playable leagues I moved from had the right amount of teams again, I never changed the name of the leagues, but now when I try to load a new game with that DB is crashes during the initalzing game data screen(the one after the player history), with no error warning, just a Windows "NHL EHM has stopped working" problem.
Was the game just not meant for such a major change? Do the non playable leagues need to have the right amount of teams too? Because I kind lost track of those.
I could upload my database somewhere if that would help.

In the (Players Detail) section of the Pre-game and Saved Game Editors, each players has a unique value for Offensive Role and Defensive Role.
My question is, does those values mold the whether the player plays an offensive, defensive, two-way game or does it only effect how well that player's stats in that category develops?

I've wondered about this for a long time :-?

If it's the place I'm thinking you're thinking it simply where he perform the best. If it's a defensive foward then he will have more D than offence. I doesn't affect how well he's going to develop.

Here it was explained like this:
Timo wrote:Offensive role: how interested the player is to play offense
Defensive role: how interested the player is to play defense

Thanks a lot for the information because I've been on the fence about that for a long time

Okay I'm not sure has this been asked, but searching did not bring so I thought I'd ask here. I got this idea of making a new team for myself as a project to bring him from the Fin-3 all the way up to the SM-league. I made the team with the editor, I also made an new arena for it. Everything seems to go swiftly. I placed it in the FIN-3, but here are some questions nad problems needed to be answered.

1. How do I necessary staff like Chairman etc.? I made a new player/staff, made him chairman etc. but when trying to find the team for him its not in the list. Same with affilations also.

2. Can I just add the team to the league, I mean do the lower leagues have hardcap of teams? Or do I have to replace an another team?

Edit: Seems like it pretty much worked out itself, atleast I am able to start a game with the team. It even has some players already contracted. Now I still want to add an affilate, I'll try to load the DB again and see if I can find the team from the list. And do I still need to add a chairman even though I don't have one? Or does the board represent "chairman" if one doesn't excist? Can they "hire" a new chairman by themselves?

I think the chairman is just cosmetic. You don't need one. Your team will be fine without, methinks.

I'm currently editing the British database and was wondering how I replace a team in the Elite League? I want to remove Newcastle Vipers and add the legendary Durham Wasps.

I read somewhere that the teams in the Challenge Cup (which is played for by the 10 Elite League teams) are hard-coded. Does this mean that I can't change the names of the teams in the league?

How would I go about doing this?

Thanks,
Tom

Sure. Go to history section and there's boxes which inform what they do.

Looking at the change log i added editing of staff histories in the 1.6.1 version of the 2005 editor although i would strongly suggest you get the latest version (1.6.3)

I'm somehow misplaced the editor on my copy of the game and now have no editor on board.

I tried to download the editor from here but my anti virus software rejected it, can anyone else help provide me with an editor so I can update a few things on it thanks.

Hey everyone. I was wondering is it possible to put national teams on NHL or somethling like that only a specific team could have specifil players from different nationalities. Like Ducks could only have players from Sweden etc.

by foxlockbox
I don't think that is possible at all. The best idea I got is to start a game with fantasy draft and make sure you get as many swedes (or w/e nationality you want) as you can get.

Oh, too bad. It would be so fun to have "National Teams" in NHL.

I use the editor on Windows 7. I believe this is not related to Windows 7 but to that you need to change the date settings correct on your computer.

I was wondering if it is possible to edit an NHL teams draft picks. Hopefully someone hasn't already asked this question.
