Fair enough, sorry B72  Heh.

Okay we've finally made it to LA; I snuck Kyle up to April class with me on our flight and cashed a few bottles of champagne 8-) The business travellers were getting all upset but I was flirting with the cute flight attendant for our section so she just laughed at em

Anyhow, our percentages are falling for the older songs we haen't practiced for a while so I've set us up a jam again for tmorra morning before our Sunday show; but darn I'm glad we don't live in LA! The jam places suck here! 300 bucks for a 4 star place, while we have a couple under 200 at 4 stars in NYC.

Over 300 tix for tonights TDG show sold already (324)! :joy:

I already booked a flight back to NYC. I looked at how much a flight costs from LA to London and it was outrageous. I'm going to fly back to NYC and then start hitching my way to London. I sure hope I get there on time. I just didn't have the cash to fly there. I'd be broke.

Edit : Just checked and it's 450$ to fly.

I just looked at my Popo character for the first time after the weekend and I find myself with 15 newbie points to use up

Time for me to concentrate on writing a song now...

The thing about flying is that it's not just a drain to the pocketbook but your mood/health too. Hitching means you're catching on with another band's bus so you don't take the health hit. Hopefully we can afford our own after the Euro tour. We made over $1500 for our two LA shows

I'm on the way back to NYC as we speak... the highway to London is supposed to take 18 hours on average so if the bus you catch doesn't break down that's a full day's trip. Our show isn't until 20:00 on the 1st so if we wanted to get there on the morning of the 1st we'd leave the morning of the 30th if we had our own thang; since we don't... add a day to make sure and leave the morning of the 29th instead. That seem sensible to people? :-?

How much does a tour bus cost? What about stage equipment? What does that stuff run? I haven't even seen where that stuff is purchased.

You can buy equipment from the 'Stage Equipment Shop' listing in shops; tour busses and the like are bought from Car Dealers. The thing is that I think you can buy stage equipment from your own pocket but cars/busses can only be bought from band money which is why I haven't been distributing out our earnings. A second hand mini van, the lowest on the list is $7200 so for just that we'd need to sell around 2000 tickets at $7. We made as I mentioned about $1500 in LA this wknd... but subtract from that because that's the money that pays for our jam times too...

Then we'd need somethign with more capacity once we started adding equipment. The 18 wheeler luxury rig Kong has is $900,000. :-D

Yikes! That's some big money! It's okay though. Once we release our first album it's going to knock the world off it's axis and become the greatest selling album of all-time. Then we'll rule the Popomundo world with an iron fist.

Looks like equipment has to be from band money too  But this is why Luke said to get out to as many countries as possible because having at least a bit of fame in each could give us some sales from each so we won't be one of these bands that rushes out a single nobody will buy...

archibalduk: Eh apparently It's not going to well, I was brought to the hospital due to bad health and I can't leave

Although I have awesome musical talent now :joy:

I have also brought my economy up to 1 299 US$ so can hopefully buy some books about guitar-playing soon.

Minty: What is required for me to be able to play guitar? "Basic string"-book, "Guitar-book" and a guitar? Could you see where the cheapest stuff can be bought?

Regarding TDG shows: I think were playing too many songs. We should just stick with our 8 best, and dump the rest. I thoguht for sure with Minty and I's new super-songs we would go up a rating, but we didn't, so something about the last 2 shows really isn't working.

You need to read "Basic String Instruments" and then study that skill until you get three stars in the skill then you can read the "Play the Guitar" book.

Grab your Basic String Instruments book at Kelsey's Shop - NY 1 010 US$ but you'll need to improve in health before they release you from the hospital... probably all the busking did it, it's hard on your health. You need to take time off to recoop and party/shop for a few updates and/or eat some food for mood and rest (if very low like int he 20s) or excercise at the gym to build health. You get a bonus if you are actually at a gym but it counts wherever you are. Party/shop and gym all cost money though for best effect so you should have 40 bucks or so on you for each update.

EDIT: Re: Shows they say 13 is the ideal number of songs actually; you just have to get at least 8 in for your shows to not get the "Too few songs were played during the show" message that hurts your rating. Komg's last three perfect shows were 11 song shows.

We have some improved songs but people haven't heard them much yet so they haven't grown in popularity yet. :dunno: Also we're still limited in skill putting the songs forth anyhow... We don't want to drop out old songs because those songs have been heard by people; Tear it! and Crazy nights are our most popular songs. If we want better shows we should all be improving our skills. Especially we should once we all get to our instrument skill work on our Punk Rock skills so that we can actually jam songs to 100% as that would make a huge difference I think.

I hope to replace Tear It with my new version when I finish it but none of our current rep are newbie songs that were bad enough on both sides of the spectrum to take out of shows I don't think.

Mood and health they say "locks in" when you first start a song; this is why Jebs song turned out with higher quality than mine I think because I encourgaed people to start new songs after the time off because it popped us all to 100% in both. Mine was started when I was at like 70/70 I think... and how much quality goes in with each update is based upon where you are. If you're in the park it doesn't credit you with just focusing on that segment of writing like it would were you locked in your room.

I think we should at this point just work on our skills, espcially punk rock so we can jam songs to 100%; we're stuck around 59% right now I think which means really we only have a solid grasp on a little over half the song which ain't so good... we'll need to get songs to 100% before we record.

Yea, on my birthday I had a gold bar mood and 95% health, so I started a new song. I'll just let it sit empty for awhile and get around to finishing it whenever. 8-)

To get them to 100%... wouldn't every single band member need 5 stars in Punk Rock? I read somewhere the song practice meter goes up with the averaged percent of the bands genre skill... or something like that.

Yeah I think that's probably right so that's why I was thinking since we have a good rep of songs going we should focus on that next, it's also something you can do while on the road... I got my singing up to 2 stars while in LA

I want to polish off my replacement Tear It and then I'm going back to Singing until I can get my Lead Singing book then I'll focus on Punk.

Keep in mind another part of show rating beside musical instrument skill, band chemisty/realtionship and song quality is everyone's individual Showmanship, Sex Appeal, Fashion and Makeup. When we hit the road I can start teaching everyone Showmanship.

So there's a long way to go obviously, so I wouldn't get too upset about not improving another step from poor to above average in a week between our Toronto and LA shows... what with all the factors times number of band members. As long as we're not getting worse... we just gotta keep plugging away. Our percentage popularity for segments is still increading, we're up to 7% for males now

EDIT: Man... it's been over 13hrs since my last update :-x

I just got my third star in basic string instruments but I don't have the cash for the guitar book, so I'm going to focus on punk for a bit and get my fifth star. That should boost us up a little bit. Keep in mind, you get to jam a song 20% for each star but that's averaged out between all the band members. So if we've got a couple people without any stars in punk, it lowers the percentage we can jam considerably.

Anyone want some quick cash? Buy the items from 2nd Hand New York and sell them at Sell (stuff)... For Heroin. 2nd Hand is selling at 60% of deafult price, SC..FH is buying items at 80% of default price.

TDG: We've got a new jam session for early mornin t'morra (so don't be set to pick flowers... ya dirty hippies) and that aft I'm gonna start my hitch to London I believe just to be extra sure as it's the longest leg of the journey. If y'all remember how bent out of shape you were because you didn't fly April Class back to NY you can see why beside saving money hitching will be essential to our Euro tour because riding the tour bus doesn't nail your health.

We'll have to watch ourselves real closely anyhow and use what would have been the plane money to party and or shop at night (just put everything but like 30 bucks in the bank for shopping/partying and whatever our hotel bills end up being) and I'll teach y'all showmanship which should make us all happy and improve the band's shows eventually too, but I don't want people bein hospitalized
