So I've edited the WHL and the OHL and added Major Junior "teams of the era" for the retro 1974 db, and thus logos are needed for the following teams...
WHL
Flin Flon Bombers, Winnipeg Clubs, Edmonton Oil Kings, Calgary Wranglers, Red Deer Rustlers, Lethbridge Broncos, Kamloops Chiefs, Victoria Cougars, New Westminster Bruins, Nanamio Islanders, Kelowna Wings, Billings Bighorns, Great Falls Americans, Seattle Breakers, Spokane Flyers
OHL
Kingston Canadians, Cornwall Royals, Niagra Falls Flyers, Brantford Alexanders, Toronto Marlboros, Detroit Compuware, St. Catharines Black Hawks, Hamilton Fincups, North Bay Centennials
A big thank you!! in advance to anyone who may have some/all of these...

Maybe some pro would make Stars gold & green logo? - it's little hard for newbie to do. In game is yellow & green.
Thanks !

Does anyone here use paint.net?
I'm trying to make/edit logos on it, but I've just recently downloaded it. I don't have Photoshop/Corel.
It makes me look stupid, but can anyone teach me how to remove the background from an image? Like, when it's on a white background.
*edit* I have gimp aswell

In GIMP:
Click on the Bucket Fill Tool (the tilted paint pot icon). Select the colour you want (the upper square of the two coloured squares in the middle of the Toolbox window). Towards the bottom of the Toolbox, click on the option entitled "Fill whole selection". Click on your image to flood fill the entire image.
Edit: Sorry, I see what you mean is to make a transparent background, not to clear the image. I'll post instructions for GIMP tomorrow.

Thank you! Yeah, I guess what I mean is making a transparent backgroud. Like the logos for EHM.
Sorry, my english isn't very good sometimes

No, it's entirely my fault. I haven't slept well recently (trying to get used to early nights again now that I'm no longer on a break from work) and it seems I'm not as attentive as I usually am.
Anyway, here's how to do it in GIMP:
1) In the menu bar, click on Image -> Mode -> RGB. This ensures that you're running at 24-bit colour (allowing 16.7 million colours). This is one way of enabling transparency and also it will ensure that any colour changes caused by the antialiasing we'll use shortly will look natural and not too rough/pixelated.
2) In the Layers window, right click on your layer. Towards the bottom of the right-click menu, you'll see an option entitled 'Add Alpha Channel'. Click on this option. If the option is greyed-out (i.e. is in grey text) then you don't need to worry about this step because the layer already has an alpha channel. The alpha channel is the channel within the layer that stores information about the layer's transparency (i.e. the alpha transparency).
3) Click on the Fuzzy Select Tool (aka Magic Wand Tool) in the Toolbox window. The screenshot at the top of
this page will show you what the button looks like.
4) At the bottom of the Toolbox there are various settings for the Magic Wand. Enable 'Antialiasing' and 'Select transparent areas'. Disable 'Feather edges'. The 'Sample merged' setting is not relevant if your image only has one layer.
5) Set the 'Threshold' to 15.0 to start with.
6) Within your image, click on the area of colour you want to remove and turn transparent. You will see a marquee (a flashing/moving set of lines) appear around the outline of the selected area.
7) Press the 'Del' key (aka delete key) to delete the area and make it transparent.
If it hasn't deleted enough of the colour or has deleted too much then do the following:
8) Press Ctrl + Z to undo. Then press Ctrl + A to deselect the area.
9) If it hasn't deleted enough of the colour, increase the threshold by something like another 15. If it has deleted too much, then decrease the threshold setting.
10) Repeat steps 6) and 7) above to see if your new threshold setting works. If not, try steps 8), 9) and 10) again.
Finally, save it as a PNG file. I prefer PNG over GIF because it allows you to use 16.7 million colours whereas GIF only allows 256 colours (which often means you'll end up with unrealistic colours and the image can appear jagged/pixelated).

Well, this is easy!
I had been working on the magic wand tool to try this myself, but had jumped over the first steps (especially the alpha channel thing).
Thank you so much!!

You're probably best contacting the author Reynaldo by private message:

The style of the logo is what's commonly know as a "Web 2.0 button". On Google there are plenty of tutorials and templates on how to create them.
If you're using GIMP then this looks like a good tutorial:

Hello all,
I've been working on some fantasy Canadian DB, and some of you may know. Anyway, there are some fantasy teams, and I've been working on their names/colous/logos.
I would really like some input on them, if they're OK, and wich one is better.
Keep in mind, I'm new to all this things, just recently started using GIMP, and all this logos are modified Logos from existing teams, so they weren't made from scratch.
So, the British Columbia Express!
I really appreciate
any feedback and I'm all open for advice. Thank you in advance!

WOW! Very impressive IMO
I like the first two better than the third, and the first over the second (might be the colour scheme making the difference).....or is it the second one I like better?.....did I say WOW!
IF I had such skills (and I do not...I'm a data/editing junkie and not graphically inclined)...I might want to keep more than one "best" for each team until I have more teams done - some might look better in a particular colour scheme, or some variations may look to much like other teams logos, and so giving myself some flexibility and making "final choices later" when most/all logos are done might be an idea...
Nice work!

Thanks a lot, alltough it's a little humbling. As I said, this logos already existed, mostly, I just changed some colours, sizes and added "British Columbia", mostly.
This logos are from the Southern Minnesota Express, Roanoke Express and Burnaby Express, respectively.
If it's not asking too much, I'll upload a few more today...

New Logo for the Blackhaws, combining the old-school ring with the modern "head"
Logo for the Newfoundland Islanders, based on NY Islanders' Lighthouse logo
Also, @nino33, I believe you were asking for the Victoria Cougars' logo? Maybe it's this one.

Wow those logos look brilliant! It just goes to show you can achieve some very neat things using GIMP.
I like the first and second logos over the third. I can't decided whether I like the first or the second more though - they both look great.

Some more logos I'm having trouble deciding wich to use.
Hull Olympiques Classic vs Modern
Peterborough Petes
And what do you think of this logo for the Sudbury Wolves? I think their current one stinks...

I like the second Hull logo and the second Peterborough logo best.
The Sudbury logo is far better than the current logo. Their current one is awful - like a child drew it.

Thanks. And I agree, Sudbury's logo is due for a change.

Just for info, the Classic Hull Olympiques logo was adopted in 1976, before that they were the "Festivals de Hull".
