At which point of the season are new regens created? My scouts didn't find any new players for around 2 years although there should be multiple great regens coming up (Lidström, Alfredsson...)

If you play with the newest DB, you see the consistency. Me, I'm use with the original so when I see the consistency I know it's a regen. They only thing I can tell you is watch when a player as retire and check after the off season if a young player looks like him ( height, weight, shooting hand ). North-American players regenerate at 16 years old and European regenerate at 14 years old.

But the problem is, there seem to be no new regens. In the last import draft only 16 players were selected, 4 from Belgium, 3 from China, 1 from Estonia, 2 South Korean and 6 Dutch. Doesn't look normal, does it?

Mmmm well I don't know what to tell you.

just a note. NA players regenerate 14 and Euros 16.

Out of curiosity I just checked the db and there were 9 players 18 or younger with a PA of 150 or higher and all of them were already 18 and drafted. Bug?

No not a bug. A bug would imply that the game has something wrong. Noone else is having this issue--so it is not a bug. Just on your game an issue.
First two drafts are generally weak in all leagues..then they get better. In fact..too strong in many cases.
Now...as for your issue sounds like you may have to check and see you are on the latest patch. IF not, maybe just something funky in your game.

Yes, you'll get maybe 1-2 good players in the first two drafts, then 6-7 good-great players in the '09 and '10 draft.

I'm on the latest patch and in the year 2011. An import draft like the one mentioned above can't be normal.

No it is not. Which is why I said something is wrong with your game. Noone else has that problem.

I just scouted this kid a week before the OHL Draft 08.
He got near perfect Mentals for a 16 year old. And he also got a Consistency of 20(!)
What is possibly the oddest in his case is the fact that he is unranked in the draft. So i am sure that this will be my sleeper pick ^^

At which age do you bring your players to the NHL and at which age would you consider them a bust? I ask because I drafted Nick Bjugstad, he's 22 now and has made little to no improvement. Just look at his stats:
Would you keep him and hope for more or try to get rid of him?

Every time a player retires a new regen is created at the next game update.

Morsy, your last post has nothing to do with regens, use the proper thread here:

Nicola Pircher Consistency 17
Lindgren Consistency 8
Kukan Consistency 10
Ziazov Consistency 16
Filip Krajicek Consistency 12
Mikail Makarov Consistency 6
Vaclav Planek Consistency 15
Trucker Scott Consistency 20
What say the regen experts?

I don't think Kukan is a regen 'cause as far as I know the earliest birthyear for a regen is 91. And Trucker Scott could be Sakic. Don't really know about the rest.

Pircher is the interesting one for me, a very good Italian player, I wonder.

Krajicek is most likely Cechmanek.
