FYI - looking at his Stickhandling rating in 8.0a, he's currently rated 3rd in the NHL (behind Mike Smith/Al Montoya) and tied for 4th in the world
max-xam11111 wrote:Antoine Roussel (french winger with Dallas) should have a higher aggression/aggressiveness
FYI - Roussel's Aggression is currently 14; only 35 players in the NHL have a higher Aggression (last year he had 148 PIM in 80 games)

FYI - Galchenyuk's Deking is rated 14; there are 100 NHLers with a Deking rating above 14 (currently the average of the NHLer Deking rating is 11.8)...Those at 15 include Pacioretty, Hossa, Nugent-Hopkins and MacKinnon.....those at 16 include Tavares, Toews, Bäckström, Hall, Jagr, Nash and Gáborík
Galchenyuk's Stickhandling is rated a 16; there are 37 NHLers with Deking rated higher than 16 (currently the average of the NHLer Stickhandling rating is 13.0)...players rated at 17 include Malkin, Hemský, Semin, Toews, Bäckström, Hall and Jágr
Galchenyuk's DEKING should be higher than Yakupov; I just compared them. Roussel's style of play (IRL) should give him the aggressive attributes; I thought it was last year that he got more than 200pims, but you're right... even then, he's not a goon, just a really effective agitator. The Price's thing is because of an in-game comment/report saying he was making everyone nervous when he controled the puck because of his stickhandling. Price is comparable to Mike Smith or Brodeur (if he was still there) and nobody else.

I think Price was born in Vancouver, and moved to Anahim Lake as a young child (and played hockey in Williams Lake 320 km away, as the small isolated village of Anahim Lake has no rink/organized hockey)
Yes, that's true.
The more you know. Thanks. I thought he was born there for some reason.

Fixed.

Thanks for the update. I thought I'd mention that the Vancouver Canucks offered their prospect, Guillaume Brisebois a 3 year entry level contract recently.

We know, but we have chosen to freeze the rosters before the season started.

Bobby Farnham started his season on the Penguins, but he's listed on the Devils.

That's exactly right.

I'm working on the North American histories at the moment.
Just started a save with the new roster, took control of Tampa thinking it would be fun to see what would happen regarding Stamkos and noticed that he was RFA.. Did you, archibalduk, miss implementing it or how can I fix it? I play on a Mac, could that effect anything?

Not so much a major issue or a player issue, but I think it's a little inaccurate that Chris Osgood (on staff for the Grand Rapids Griffins) has an incredibly low rating for coaching goaltenders. I mean, it might be realistic, but considering Ozzy was a goaltender...

I'm not familiar any more with the RFA rules, but I can see his Player Stats in the v8.1 DB correctly show he has 7 NHL seasons. As I understand it, he is now eligible to be a UFA as he has the minimum 7 NHL seasons. That's correct isn't it? In which case, I wonder if this is something for running by Riz.

Stamkos is an upcoming UFA in my save with the latest (8.1) rosters.

Weird, also in my game he's an impending RFA. But then again I'm not sure if there isn't something wrong with my installation as I seem to be having some trouble with the history entries too.

I don't know if this is the right place to post, just hard to get in the mood to play it when rosters are so far off...in my beloved Kings, Toffoli (Leading Goal Scorer), Mcbain (playing in pro 2nd season now), Forbort, Merch... (Forbort, Mcbain, Merch will probably never play in pro in these rosters) and top youngsters are said after scouting that they will never play in NHL...(Kempe, Zykov, lintuniemi etc.) and players who have been playing regular for years now game says never will be able to crack the roster...Nolan, Clifford, King, Andreyoff, Shore... don't know how much is the roster and how much the game mechanics dictating that but don't know if to cry or laugh...certainly not enjoyable to play it as real NHL roster who is playing now cannot be suited up...they won 2 cups in last 5 seasons and last season was a fluke as they missed by 1 point (due to their bad shootout record) now in top 5 team in the league with 2nd best record in West...

And when you post them, rank them compared to players (several) not on the Kings, from the same position etc. The guys do a bang up job, but nothing is perfect. Also, EHM always has players that are top level that are not playing at top level. In the old EHM 07 days....anyone small did not play well. This is not the case anymore thankfully, but there are still guys who do not perform the way they look like they should in game, and the way they do in real life, no matter what is done with them.
Younger guys also get random potentials...so they may turn out different in different games. ANd honestly, Nolan, and Shore at least, are 4th line scrub players interchangeable on many teams. Clifford and Andreyoff are decent players with 3rd line potential, which is what I see them turn out to be.
Toffoli is fine in the game just not immediately. I have him scoring 35-40 and 75-85 points for me in a Bruins game in years 2,3,4,5.

thanks, i got stuck on a injury bug? 3 guys on IR, saying coming back in 10 days and 3 months later still on IR while saying no injury (just the IR flag visible and cannot suit them up) is this known bug?

Why does Nikita Kucherov have a 4,026m $ cap hit? According to Eliteprospects his hit is 711,667$, ditto for Hockeybuzz.com.

Filip Forsberg, as well. Both have their real salary in the database but in game it is 4,026m.
Very strange

I talked to Riz about it. Apparently, it is the "wage sanity check" that does it. He has now made sure it won't be used with ELCs from the next update and on.

Not sure that this is the right forum for this question but:
I've noticed that none of my prospects is getting heavier or taller, not even the 17 and 18 yo. Even though they're getting older the weight and height stay the same.
I'm using the TBL rosters v8.0

Where should i post them? i want atleast those that play in real life have enough stats that they could play in EHM also...as McBain will never play with these stats in pro or Merch etc...not cool to play as cannot even suit up the real team that really play in NHL...

Kempe and Zykov both look like solid prospects in my game, i've had Kempe in a game myself and he was a good bottom-6er with potential to become a 2nd liner. Jamie McBain (that's who ur talking about, right?) looks like a decent NHL-dman aswell, definitely good enough to play. Forbort also looks decent, not like he's a world beater IRL either. Overall i think Kings look pretty darn close to reality, it's not perfect but you can't expect perfection from a game.

Here, in this thread...
Usually (almost always) it's best to compare the player to other EHM players/ratings rather than just saying to low/high or referencing outside sources...if a player is thought to be rated to low/high, what similar players ingame are rated at the newly proposed level? and how does the players "to low/high" rating fit in with the overall ratings of that particular Attribute ingame

Yeah, it's really hard to shake off the love for your own team when giving feedback. Especially for people (like myself) who mostly follow just their own team.
... for what it's worth in my game Kempe looks pretty good at age 29. Several close to or above 30 point seasons. Good mentals all around, good defender. Not a superstar, but I'd happily take him into my team. Jamie McBain has had good and not so good seasons. He's now 38, but his best seasons have tallied up to 40 points -- pretty darn okay for a defender, I'd say. Also good mentals, good defensive abilities, good shot.
Now, you have to take into account the random factor as well. I'm not one of the database guys, so I don't know the exacts regarding these two, but sometimes players are given variable potential, where they may in one save be better than in another game, because often there's no telling where youngsters, like Kempe, will end up.
