LUuuuuuuuu KAS KRAPICHECK??? OT WINNER?!!!

I was just saying to my son how this guy is useless, and annoys me to no end now (did not until he sucks in the pool), with his give aways, and fly byes (missed checks) causing him to get caught up ice, and BAM Krapicek (I know Krajicek, but I prefer Krapi check) scores in OT. Canucks win again.

2 games in a row down with 2 minutes left, score to tie, and win in OT. St Louis and Nashville must be wondering what the heck hit em.

New year, same injury issues  More time for the young guys... again...

Looks like Havlat will be out at least a few weeks with a sprained ankle, more if that becomes an actual break as I still fear it might, sometimes after the swelling goes down things show up differently.

And Handzus is done for the year after tearing both his MCL and ACL on his knee :joy: (sarcastic celebration).

Oh, and Khabibulin broke a finger too... Ruutu has started skating but is still a few weeks from returning from his knee injury from getting taken out at the knees.

So both Bolland and Blunden are up from the minors and while I'm excited to see them get a chance and see them get NHL experience this centainly wasn't the way I wanted them to get it

What no back injuries? Really? COme on there must be it is Chicago... But yeah, a promising start wrecked by this. Must be painful.

Daze is still set to announce his retirement due to his back injuries at some point. He won't however be apologizing for holding the supposed role of first line winger that can score thirty plus goals hostage for three years so I won't be forgiving the big dumb mush mouthed fool any time soon freakin Daisy... what a waste.

Handzus for the year is the real blow... he looked great out there every shift. What a game though, lose Havlat for probably a month, Handzus for the year and Khabibulin for two-three weeks al in one game. I'd probably be much more upset if I the past decade or so hadn't made me so numb to it all I was just kinda like "Yeah... well... that figures."

WOW, and I was upset about the injuries in Boston!!!!

Loosing all that guys in one game is really, really hard!!! Its sad because the Hawks looked really good this year!!

I like Blunden and Bolland....they are great prospects, but Iam not sure if they can step in right away....now they have to!!!

I think it is the curse of the naff owner.

It happens to the best of us, I mean just like at the Pittsburgh Pirates!

While Wirtz is around you won't ever have a successful season.

Well for your sake Minty let us hope Handzus gets a hair cut while he is out. There is no way his knees could hold up all that hair. No wonder he got hurt. Too lazy to put smiley here.

Oh yeah, and the timing could not be better for the Canucks. Do you have a game before us? How is Havlat feeling anyway? Kidding, just kidding.

I think he has a Samson thing going on, the strength is in his hair... unfortuantely he has achilles knees instead of heels.

As for our assorted killer B's; 8-) Bolland was the so-called "last cut" in camp so he was really impressive in Camp and Brouwer really has come on from late last year and looked really good in camp too. Adam Burish who of course won the NCAA title with my Badgers last year seems to have gotten up to speed with the NHL game now and has looked quite good as well though already with the team he didn't play much at first as Yawney was helping him get used to it without overdoing it. For some reason I just want to see a powerplay with Burish, Borque, Bolland and Brower. :-D

It will be good for them to get time, but in the long run Bolland and Brouwer are probably best served in the AHL this year.

The team will be no less interesting to watch though even with the front line injuries just because we really do have a lot of interesting players most all of whom are in their early to mid 20s. Returning lookign better than last year with another NHL year under their belts are Rene Bouque who has had soooo many chances he literally could have 5 or 6 goals just with goals you thought went in when you saw him shoot them and Patrick Sharp who has looked great as well.

We also have two returning players who have really made an impact with Lasse Kukkonen (who got mercilessly screwed over by Sutter never playing him so he could give Klemm and Karpovtsev 26 minutes a darn game) and Tony Salmelainen who were both overseas last year.

It's going to be a case of "see who can step up and make the most of an opportunity" I think; who knows...

That's using your head  last night Mlian Hejduk ended up getting 11 stitches to close a cut on his face when a shot deflected and hit him... and went in the net! :-p

3-1 Pens in the second goals by Crosby, Ekman, and Staal(getting his first time on the second line) Win tonight and 1st place in Atlantic and on a 3 game winning streak. I know its early but we were never close to first last year.

Final score 4-2 and we are first in the Atlantic. Hop on the bandwagon we are getting full.

I refuse to hop on the bandwagon until you trade us your second overall pick in the 2006 draft for Jack Johnson...

Oh wait... :-k

Just give us Jordan! :-D

Before the season I was hoping that trade was going to happen. I saw J. Johnson played and still think he is going to be a great D-man but after watching J. Staal this year Im glad the Pens braintrust decided to keep the kid. Maybe youll get Jared Staal.

I didnt get to see the Habs game last night but from what I've heard the reffing was brutal and the Boston fans even worse. Either way 2 points are 2 points....bring on the Maple Laughs

I just got home from the Edmonton v. Dallas game. All I have to say is that the Oilers were jobbed. Dallas' first goal was questionable and the tying goal with 5 seconds left was disallowed due to a phantom hand pass. Time for McGough to retire me thinks

OMG!!! You are not kidding! I was watching this game tonight too (I'm home nursing a cold from running around with all the kiddies for Halloween a lot of whom just got over colds) and they screwed numerous times! I'm not sure if you got any good views of the replays on Dallas' first "goal" in which Dallas came burrowing through the crease and ripped Rolli's stick out of his hand but not before they pulled him out of the goal with it... then the puck went in. So they got jobbed at both the beginning and end of that game!

That said they had no right to be in that game though really because they were getting pretty much embarrased by Dallas who were dominating like I've seldom seen teams dominate; the time of possesion had to be like 85% Dallas... but ya did get seriously pooched by good old Mr. Magoo who has screwed the Hawks over on many an occasion as well.

The thing about Magoo (McGeough) is he has screwed over every team equally. Me thinks he just had to catch up a bit for all the "favours" he has done the Oilers in the past.

Now...Canucks - Wild. I was so angry the other nite I said nothing. Kelly Sutherland...Me thinks Kiefer's brother, sucks bad.

1. Clear kicking motion from Todd White on Minny 1st goal. Now this is not Kelly's fault. He and the ref on the ice called it right. How the hell does the NHL in Toronto overturn this one. Conclusive evidence it was not kicking at the puck that propelled the puck into the net? Me thinks not. Clear soccer boot.

2. Rolston penalty shot call. I know they are calling more of them, but come on not even close to being a stride ahead of Fitzpatrick in the clear. Not even close to a scoring chance at the time of the incident.

3. That being said great penalty shot! Should be up on google now, or soon if not. That took alot of guts for Rolston to pull. And it was Lemaire's idea. Luongo was out to lunch, but why the heck would he expect that?

4. Now all of the above being said, Canucks lost becuase of bad penalties and bad penalty killing (killed off one of four) not the ref.

Yeah the first Dallas "goal'' was garbage too. Now McGough says that he biffed the call on the last goal. Smooth

I remember how much I hated Magoo throughout the playoffs last year.

How he made it all the way to reffing the finals is beyond me..

5-6 to the Bruins last night.

So far this season the bruins seems to be hit and miss. I wish they could keep some form of consistency, hopefuly a winning one.

That was a big win for them last night. Even though they blew a 3 goal lead against the Sabres on Thursday, in any other situation taking away a point from the Sabres is no small feat. I thought overall they played really well against the Sabres and there was a lot from that game that they could build on. Coming from behind to win last night should be good for their confidence.

I think either Thomas or Toivonen really needs to stand up and take the #1 spot. Neither one of them has played consistently and Toivonen was really off last night. Or I guess you could say that they have been consistently unimpressive.

Wow... what an amazing play. Lecavalier in OT on a breakaway just smokes Fleury for the goal. =D> An amazing pass my St. Louis following a long rebound from a point shot right up the middle.

So anyone wonder how Anaheim whoops Vancouver 6-0? Well yeah Anaheim has a great team, but beside that:

Vancouver defense corps for the game:

1. Matthias Ohlund 604 NHL games
2. Lukas Krajicek 106 NHL games (many, many of those are horridly played)
3. Kevin Bieksa 55 NHL games (rookie year in 2005-06)
4. Alexander Edler 2 NHL games (both last week)
5. Patrick Coulombe 0 NHL games
6. Nathan Mc Iver (pronounced Mc Key Ver) 0 NHL games

Ummm yeah, No Salo (knee day to day), no Mitchell(concussion--no idea when), and no Fitzcraptrick(a busted heel he played 2 games on becuase he did not want to tell anyone he was hurt). Oh well.

I am trying to think of another team who had this problem with d-core. The Canucks could have called up Yannick Tremblay, or Joe Rullier...much more experienced guys...if THEY WERE NOT INJURED TOO! I know LA has had problems, but I can't think of anything this bad. 6 D-men and 5 of them combine for not even 3 seasons experience?
