ok, now i must give my own 50 cents to this topic (yes, i have my own rapper )

at first: full respect and many thanks to all contributors that made the unfaking possible.

i know how much time and passion it takes (did the ncaa update last year, and making facepacks) to realize this project.

.....BUT I GET ANGRY IF I READ THIS TOPIC

the ehm community is growing fast, but it is still very small. (if you look at fm manager)
and i think we can't afford to lose any contributors to the game (if its an updater or graphics man or editor maker or roster maker......) with silly discussions like these.

i know that this dispute is growing since 1 year, still i don't know why. (and i don't need to or would want to know)

but it's like kindergarten

i'm in contact with members of both groups (private messages) and can only say, i never had a problem with anyone of them. they helped me out with pictures for my facepacks and troubles with kyrilic language. the others helped me with graphics and guides and so on. they also got some effort in return from me.

the game is only that good with all aspects.

i like the graphics (skins, rinks, playercards ( , guides...) but i also don't want to have anything faked in the game. so the unfaking and roster updates and the maker of the editor are also very important.

if the two sides won't stop throwing garbage at each other this will not end good.
...maybe both parties throw their garbage now at me

but remember:
even in a hard fight hockey series, with broken bones, black eyes and guys pulling out each others hair of their playoff-beards.....
at the end they skate to middle ice and shake hands.

I downloaded the real arena names update from eastside uk...but I think it did something else...

I thought it was a little wierd that I only sold 500 season tickets. Then I thought it was strange that I was $7 million in the hole about half way through the season.

I just now noticed this;

Sabres vs. Bruins attendance: 10,500
Lightning vs. Hurricanes attendance: 8.295
Wild vs. Avalanche attendance: 8,200
Devils vs. Flyers attendance: 2,000
Islanders vs. Thrashers attendance: 700
Oilers vs. Canucks attendance: 500


Problem is, even if I could edit the save game, I wouldn't know what to look for to change. And, smart me, I didn't backup the files before overwriting them. I assume the easiest way to fix this would be to reinstall the patch?

I guess reinstalling will fix it, but Iam sure one of the guys who really know about this will answer too....

...my point is: ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR FILES!!!

I really saved my games lots of times only by copying the original files to another folder.

That kind of unwanted and unknown modifications are why TBL doesn't support the unfake project this year, as they didn't only unfake the game but also made some modifications here and there without saying what they changed.

That's also why i don't use the unfake DB and wait for a real unfake-only stuff.

Unfaking is great.

I've looked through every player on every team in the NHL and their top prospects and haven't found any differences between the unfaking or regular databases.

Well, there are some bugs!!!

Playing in the Q with the Halifax Mooseheads I have noticed that there are some players doubled in the game:

For example: Jakub Voracek is right now in my team, but there appears also another Jakub Voracék (or something like that) who is in my reserve list. Its the same player, but written a bit different!!!
I noticed the same bug also in other players.

Its curious because as there was no photo of Voracek, so I searched one and put it in the db....and curiously the same picture appeared in both players, lol!!!

There are a lot of dublicate players in the original database, and they will therefore also be in the unfaking.

I am almost 100% sure they haven't included extra players.

The team you are playing (Halifax) isn't faked to begin with, so they won't even have touched it (exept for changing the Arena name to the real one).

Yeps, its the same player, Iam sure of it!!

El Quapo: dont know if its a unfake bug or a original bug, but in my case it only appeared after putting in the unfake db....not that Iam not happy with it..just telling whats happening in my game, thats all!!

The authors of the project choose to not share it with us at TBL and since it's not our project we don't know anything about it to help support it. Any help you may recieve here would be through other users that are also using the project. Any support questions should be addressed to the project authors.

A new unfaking is being made.

I am currently helping with the danish data in it. I don't know when it will be finished, you would have to ask Kidhander at either the SI forums or at Eastside UK.

Unfortunately Eastside UK seems to be down right now.

I have a question about the Unfaking DB. Does the Unfaking DB before the 3.0.3 patch work fine with the new patch? I downloaded the unoffical DB from here, but the arena names went back to being like default (St. Paul Ice Arena instead of Xcel Energy Center) and the UHL is now called All-American League or whatever.

You most likely have to reinstall it.

I think I already told you that but I may be wrong.

Anyone know if Eastside UK or anyone else is going to have a final Unfaking Databse for after the trade deadline?

Yes they will release one, but it will have a large quantity of changes to player attributes as well as the pure unfaking/trades

I've never used the unfake database, but what is the benefit from it?

I'm just curious to know that.

It does what it says, unfakes certain players like Jack Johnson for instance, and I also think stuff like arena names, not sure about the last one though.

1. The Unfake from Eastside is being worked on right now. There may be some changes to attributes, data on players in the next version from them. So it could make game play much different.
2. It unfakes NCAA< some European leagues, arenas, and other.
3. Devils88 is working on an EHM THE BLUE LINE unfaked database for us here right now! All hail the great Devils88, and of course Minstrel for nagging.
4. There is an unfaking topic in this thread, on the first page.. it explains a fair bit about EastideUK's unfakes. Not sure why this needed a new topic, but not my position to say.

Well thanks for somewhat clearing some of that up for me. I appreciate it and I'll just continue to use what database was fixed with 3.0.3, I'm already too far along in my new game anyway and I'm not starting over AGAIN!

I went almost 16 years last time and had to restart because of the patch update.


But all in all, kind of glad for it, because I like the new patch.

Sorry, I started the new topic, I guess I didn't realize there already was a thread about it. My bad.

There are MULTIPLE threads about it and they are all, as they should be, in The Graphics and Game Add-ons Forum, because it's a database and that means it's a Game Add On.

Check the proper forum before posting or use the search function. See up in the black menu bar? Where there is this icon that when you put your mouse over it says 'Search'? If you'd used that and typed in "unfake" you'd have seen a page worth of results.

Locked AND moved

I downloaded the unfaking database over at the UK site (I didn't see it here) and when I tried installing it I got the following error:

Any ideas?
