I always thought the old school one looked pretty bad. It wasn't timeless like some logos (like the Original 6 teams' logos). It looked dated. I though the new one had a good look to it.

Oh, you love the foot! Admit it! Embrace the foot! :-p

I never really understood how Bigfoot and avalanches were related. Is he the cause of avalanches? Does that kind of make him like Santa Claus, he can get around the world in a short time to cause avalanches all over?

I'd have voted for Montreal if they were available! They did lose to Batdad's team after all :-p

When this poll has been running for a few days I'm going to merge it into the General Discussion thread - there's no point in having multiple discussion threads because it means too much going on in too many threads! :swamped: I don't think anyone will be offended by some friendly competitive banter in the General Discussion Thread - it's not like you can take Geek Hockey too seriously! :D

Dudes you have taken this waaayyyyy off topic. Tut tut [-X :-D

We do in fact have a Random Mentions thread. I've renamed it the Trash Talk thread and have stickied it at the top of the General Discussion Forum. You can use it for all of your off-topic needs! Here's the link: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... .php?t=246

I'm going to splice this thread up and put some of it in the Geek Hockey thread and some in the General Discussion / Trash Talk thread tomorrow.

I plan to play a round every weekend (normally a Sunday). If I have a hectic schedule in real life (which I often do!) then it might not be until Monday. I am just about to simulate round two, though. I should have the results up in about 30 minutes...

By the way, here are the final poll results before I split the GH Trash Talk Thread:

Which geek team sucks the most:
Hartford Whalers 43% [ 7 ]
Quebec Nordiques 31% [ 5 ]
Minnesota Northstars 12% [ 2 ]
Winnipeg Jets 12% [ 2 ]
Chicago Black hawks 0% [ 0 ]

I can't believe you missed out the Habs! I'd have voted for them :p

Hell yeah, we've got an early lead in the standings. :ohyeah:

Sbufkle is a rock in goal! However, I think he'd perform even better with a conservative mentality because that would exploit his strength with his glove. An aggressive mentality is more suited to someone with a stronger stick. Mentalities work in a different way compared to the way it works for skaters. However, it's not a hard-and-fast rule. Perhaps it would be best not to fix what isn't broken and to continue playing aggressive.

I'm very happy with my performance - I scored just as many points as I did when I played aggressive. It's nice to have a forward line consistently scoring points. All we need is for a prolific goalscorer.

Batdad is a points scoring machine! :-o He gave Hartford a fighting chance but it seems it wasn't enough. Whilst playing a mainly aggressive tactic is resulting in scoring a lot, it also seems to be leaving them quite open at the back.

Once we've reached the halfway point in the season, I might alter the mentalities of the two non-user teams (CHI and MTL) to make them pose a bit more of a challenge (unless they prove to already be enough of a challenge). I'm leaving it until everyone has played them once so as to ensure everyone has the same chance against the two non-user teams.

Bring on round 3! :fight:

maybe we should pull joe at the beginning of the game for an extra attacker we would give up as many goals but have more offense

Ouch! Now that's just harsh!

Then again... our team's goalie just played a shutout for us. So I guess I'm not so bitter. :-p

Is anybody interested in a trade? :-D :-D

Our goalie is very nice and is always there for you if you nees someone to talk. Even if it´s when your opponent has powerplay and is shooting the hell out of you :-D
