Anger Management, will that really help? He doesn't do these things because he's an angry person... He does them because he's an idiot... I just thought that was pretty stupid.

What is Avery's contract a year and what would it cost to buy him out? On the British TV during an intermission of the Ducks game, they said he has a 4 year deal and would cost the Stars too much to buy him out... But as Sbufkle said, will they really be allowed to "tear up his contract" without paying Avery compensation, understanding what Avery has done i think that it's out of order. Dallas should be punished for offering such a contract.

I am sure its been said before, but really... 6 games for calling Elisha Cuthbert sloppy seconds....

And yet blantent attempts to injure with stick infractions or intentional hits to the head, or from behind.. getting often less than 3 games...

This just tells me the league's priority is not to protect the player who play the game, instead its to protect the agitators who perpretrate the offenses.

AStars cannot buy him out til the end of the year. They could wait til then, but it is 1/2 the value of the contract over double the length of the deal that would count against their cap. Highly doubt they want Avery on their cap for 6 years at 1.75 mill.

I am guessing the legal route. Sorry folks but no matter what anyone says he deserves what he got from the league, and the Stars are about to make this losers life even more miserable. You can defend him all you want, but you cannot compare apples to oranges with this suspension, which is all over the news and a suspension for a body check to a head. Or a McSorley suspension for what he did to Brash (which was way bigger btw), or with a first time offender. Avery cannot shut his yap...and he carried it too far. Period.

I am just glad the league did not let the Stars off the hook for the stupid contract by suspending him for 200 years. Now the Stars have to deal with the cap issue of this loser.

WIll he play again in the NHL? Yep....on a one year deal with some team who has a moron for a GM.

The players hate him...how do you like working with someone who is an idiot? If you do..then continue to defend this moron. Sorry.."Sloppy seconds" has no place in a public media discussion. None.

He'll probably end up playing for some KHL team in Siberia earning $1.5-2M per year for the rest of his career if he does get axed by the Stars.

As for the anger-management I suppose I find that strange aswell.

Just to give a little precision: Lucic injured his right hand less than 24 hours before that game. As for Avery... why loosing so much time and words about a gutless, brainless and egocentric chicken? He doesn't worth so much attention. As well as he doesn't worth to wear a hockey jersey. He is not a hockey player. He is just a useless bag of sh*t. And i wouldn't mind dropping the gloves to beat him up, even with my 150 lbs. Just to explain him how things are working in the hockey world.

Before I could vote in that poll, I would have to know who was there first!

Call me picky, but to me there's no girl in the world worth sloppy seconds. Either clean that s**t off first, or I ain't doing anything. Hell, even then I'd question doing anything with her, knowing she already got it on with someone else first.

As for another "stupid in hockey", how about this all-star fan balloting?

- Jeff Carter, tied for the league lead in goals = not on the ballot.

- Sergei Gonchar/Ryan Whitney, haven't played a single game this year = 4th and 5th top defencmen.

Ah...but alot of that is the fault of Pens and Habs fans. The way it is done of cuorse is the NHL's fault. Fan balloting...vote as much as you want...dumb

The system does seem very strange. Why not have some sort of independent body of professionals (coaches, GMs, etc) that pick half of the players (they can't choose a player from the same team they coach, GM, etc? And then leave the other half to be voted for by the fans?

And as we've (well, B72 and myself) said before, where the hell is Tim Thomas on the ballott?!!

Fans vote for the whole team, and the most from each position is then obviously the starting line-up. As for Gonchar, he's not out for the season, but the new year for sure.

In the top 4 forwards there's three from Dead Wings in West and three Canadiens in East.
Among the defensemen there's 2 Dead Wings in the top 4 in West and 2 Canadiens in top 2 in East.
Carey Price is the leader of the Eastern goalies, and Osbad is 4th in west.

Wings don't know what else to do before the playoffs. For Habs fans, it's barely their only chance to see their players win something this year. For other teams fans, maybe they just understood how stupid this balloting is and therefore don't want to loose any time to vote...

AFAIK, the fan balloting decides the starting lineup. The balloting picks 1 goalie, 2 defensemen, 1 LW, 1 C, and 1 RW. Then the coach of the team is supposed to fill in the rest of the lineup.

I found an article from an angry (Pittsburgh) fan. I found it interesting, i don't know if the fan is unhappy with Poster Boy Crosby not being in the starting line up or whether he is actually disgruntled. I am the latter and I feel it's a bit of a farce.

Loved a commentary from Bobby Holik about Sean Avery, when this one was compared to Claude Lemieux for his agitating style.

Just read on Swedish text-tv that Peter Forsberg hasn't given up on a return to the NHL yet.

I've just read that his foot is still causing him some problems...

I just read that noone cares about Mats Peter coming or not. CAuse well...what difference will it really make?

A healthy Forsberg could centre the 1st line of most teams. Playing well he could change the fortunes of a bad team.
