Soo...by realism you mean that Phoenix is owned by Gary Buttman and starts off hot every year and then cools off and misses the playoffs?

K, thank you very much.batdad wrote:Start a game. Version 2.1 won't be ready for some time. He is adding in alot of stuff he is waiting for. My guess is you won't see version 2.1 til December or Jan or maybe even trade deadline.
You need to use this thread for help with using the editor. The thread we're currently in is for "Lidas Rosters 2009/10 - Mistakes/Omissions/Tweaks/Etc" only.BlazingWing wrote:Just wonder, how do I edit players to create clones so I can fix the Fowler/Galiev/etc. problem?
I have Eastside UK's pre-game editor and while I can create another Cam Fowler and such, I can't delete the original. I can change his name and potential and etc., but is that the only way?
Any help in how to edit the DB would really be

My understanding of this situation was that last year, because it was technically the last year of the CBA until the League renewed, bonuses were counted against the cap. That's why guys like Rask had cap hits of about 3 million when they're base salary was around a one million. I'm not sure if the same situation is still around this year or not.bruins72 wrote:The one thing I'd like to see if we can look at for a future version of the database is the cap hits for this year. Some players are being counted for too much of a cap hit and it's putting the teams over the cap to start the game. For example, the Bruins' Rask and Wheeler don't count for as much against the cap as they're currently set in the game. Other teams are facing the same issues. I'd just hate to see a bunch of good players get waived or sent to the minors because they put the teams over the cap when they're actually playing for the team in real life.Lidas wrote: As for the extended contracts.
Lets take Milan Lukic as an example.
This year he has an 850K caphit, and its the final year of his contract.
He has signed an extention worth $4,083,333 over three years.
If I should take the average caphit over four years it would be (3*4.083.333+850.000)/4 = 3.275.000 per year instead of 850.000 per year, which would have a huge impact on Bruins' already tight budget.
Thanks, I hadn't heard that explanation yet. AFAIK, they're not counting this year because many teams would be way over the cap before the season started. I think in a few cases, the players' bonuses might count because they were actually able to meet the requirements of those bonuses, thus locking in those cap hits. This would mostly be guys like Kane or Toews.empach wrote: My understanding of this situation was that last year, because it was technically the last year of the CBA until the League renewed, bonuses were counted against the cap. If memory serves normally rookie bonuses are not covered under the cap, but veteran (35+) players bonuses are.bruins72 wrote:Thanks, I hadn't heard that explanation yet. Speaking of salaries and cap numbers... March Recchi is listed in the game as having a 1 year $1.75M contract when he's actually got a 1 year $1M contract.
I am working on it for the next update.batdad wrote:Likely due to the number of teams the game has hardcoded for the Slovenian league. You cannot add more teams to a league. It has to be the exact # the game originally started with. If not, it could be because noone researched the Slovenian league...I have not looked.
All taken care ofhalljoh2 wrote:A few other avs things as they're the only team i've really looked at so far:
TJ galiardi is listed as a LW on the Avs website but often plays centre, he is just a centre in the game
Kyle Quincey has played LD with Hannan but RD with Liles on the PP so maybe give him that capability? Also Hannan has played RD a lot, often with Quincey. Duchene has played left wing on the PP with Hejduk ans Statsny. Wolski should also have Centre as a secondary position, he played it often last year.
OKbruins72 wrote:I think Chara needs to have a better than "Competent" rating for Left Defenseman. He's been playing paired with Morris on the right this season. I'm sure he played on the left in other seasons too. Chara is enough of a talent that I think he can play both sides well.
Bonuses are a really tricky subject. They used to be exempt from the cap, but as of last season, all bonuses, no matter ELC or veteran bonuses, count against the salary cap. I'm 99% sure about that.empach wrote:If memory serves normally rookie bonuses are not covered under the cap, but veteran (35+) players bonuses are.bruins72 wrote:Thanks, I hadn't heard that explanation yet. This all second hand knowledge from last year. I by no means understand the nuances of the CBA

I dont think Im going to update all the draft years manually, but Im hoping the mne can create a script which takes care of that.Jypfan92 wrote:I have one ok idea to fix those. You have edit only players age, but maybe you (or somebody else, cause there's lots work) can fix draft years. For example, Erik Johnson is 1st pick in 2006, so why not edit him to be 1st pick in 2003 (in 2009-2010 db)? There's lots of work to edit all draft picks, but game could be lil better that way. Only if you find someone who wants to edit those, but maybe it's better make to next years db.Lidas wrote:I have written about the league structure in the readme.Andy79 wrote:First of all I wanna thx Lidas and all of you guys that been working so hard for this great game.
The error i found is that Swedish allsvenskan have 16 team, it should only be 14, Huddinge and Nybro its not in the allsvenskan this year.
And Oliver Ekman-Larsson in Leksand was drafted round 1 not 31
As for the drafts, Ekman-Larsson was drafted 2009, but the game starts 2006, so in order to have him drafted at all I needed to work around it like that. (2007 draft is round 11-17 year 2006, 2008 is 21-27, and 2009 is 31-37)
Hehe, Ulfie wasnt very technical as a player, but maybe he has changed as a coach....zyllyx wrote:I've simmed a bit through the current 2.0 database and have to say KUDOS again to Lidas - the realism is exceptional!
Having gone through a couple of seasons now, I'm concerned about Martin Hanzal for the Coyotes - IRL he is the Coyotes' shutdown forward and is one of the best defensive forwards on the team. He rolls out against guys like Thornton and other big dudes and has shown tremendous defensive skill. In the game, however, his checking and other defensive traits are very low and don't develop very much at all. Maybe raise his checking attribute or at least potential?
Also - having observed Ulf Samuelsson at the Coyotes' rookie camps over the offseason I strongly believe his coaching style should be switched to "Technique-based." It's not that big a deal if you set up practices manually but if you set EHM to have the head coach run practices Ulf is ALWAYS slotted as the conditioning coach, which just doesn't jibe with his real-life coaching technique.
Having said all that, I'm LOVING 2.0 and I think once the tweaks are made for 2.1 it's going to be hard to improve on. LIDAS FTW!
Going down, down, down...bruins72 wrote:I don't know if this applies to this version of the database only or if it's a lingering issue (I think it's been there for a while) but can we make Paul Coffey NOT a super-coach? He's a "free agent" coach and his abilities are far too good. Has he even had any coaching experience to warrant these abilities?
I think I'll release a "fixed" release in time for next challenge.empach wrote:
Also could I maybe suggest a re-release of the database with the UFA 17-18 year old fix? I think most of us would prefer Cam Fowler not be signed as a 17 year old.
