You will have one of the top 3 picks then. The CHL Import draft isn't until mid May, and even then it's a bigger crapshoot then the OHL Draft. Most of the imports won't even sign as they don't want to come to NA.

I finished the first quarter of the season with a 9-7-1 despite my bad start. Here are my lines

Kerbashian - Arniel - Ritchie
Kavaratzis - O'Quinn - Hottot
Peters - Preisinger - Campagna
MacQueen - Stoughton - Stevens

Katic - Drydak
Rogalski - Zupancic
Chiarlitti - Sullivan

Campbell
Gladwish

My first line has pretty much carried the team although Kavaratis has surprisingly been my most steady player with 9 points in 14 games and is +7.

If you look at the info page down near the bottom of the details section it will have different comments in the "interested " and "future" lines. If it says their goal is to play major junior hockey then they will most likely sign with you. If they like the club they are at..... well, don't count on getting them unless they get drafted and sent down to junior by an NHL team.

Ouch! Just lost Francisco for 4 months. He had 8 goals in 14 games

Ouch, he was a 25 goal scorer for me on my second line.

Yeah. I do that with my scouting reports. I only put the ones that want to play in Major Junoir on my shortlist.

So my season is pretty much done. There is only the 8 spot left open for the playoffs and I am 8 points out of 8th place with 6 games left. Doable but it's a huge long shot. But in my last game Arniel put the team on his back and willed them to win. He had 7 points. He was one goal away from a natural double hat trick scoring 5 in a row. He added 2 assists. Here's hoping he can continue this pace (yeah right) and we can squeeze in.

I go a lot by contract, too. If a player is in a long-term contract(mostly Russians) he is less likely to come over.

Did anyone else not get Katic? I got unlucky and only had Arniel and Neal sent down. Though Arniel is playing really well for me.

Thanks every one for your input.

I ended up taking;

CHL Player NHL Draft
1st- G Riku Harma 2nd Boston
2nd- C Mikael Granlund 1st Ducks

both have not signed w/ there clubs but next year i believe they will and they will both be a force to be reckoned with.

They are both good players. I hope they sign with you. However, there seems to be something wrong with your latest stat post. How can you have -15 in losses? Wouldn't that be like 15 wins :-D
Also, you have S.Perkins and J.Unice listed on your stats screen. They were not with the Sting when we started

i needed them because of rule. 8.1 You must have at least 3 goalies under contract at all times during the challenge. Two of those goalies should be assigned to your challenge team and the other one should be assigned to you "farm" (development) team.

Boy, that was one interesting first season.

Highlights include strong seasons by both Ritchie and Francisco, and a pretty surprising good first season out of Kyle Paat.
Campbell took the starters ball and ran with it, and Phillips looks to be a solid backup after having a strong season in JrB.

We seem to be set up well for a good little run next seaon, but Windsor looks to have everyone back, so Ill be happy with winning a round.

Was able to swing a good trade in my books. Alan Quine from Kingston for Jesse Raymond .Quine will be a 1/2 center this season, taking over for Arniel.

OHL draft was extremely useless, I honestly dont see any of these kids taking a shift for me.

I've found this in my previous franchises in the CHL. The first draft is extremely weak, but the second draft is incredibly deep due to all the regens. Somewhere in the middle of both drafts is ideal IMO.

I can see Unice being signed as a injury replacement, but you have Perkins with 28 games played. Did you really have your other goalies injured that much? Other than that we are not allowed to sign any FAs during season one

I just had my first scout update for the OHL priority draft and my scout has found 11 "exciting prospects", they seem to be bad, but then you see that most of the players listed is just 15 years old and will probably develop to become pretty good players, but as toddpaul said the drafts will become better when regens starts to appear.

Just beat the number 1 team in my conference, 6-3. Currently ranked 4th behind Windsor with a 16-8-2 record (was 9-6-2 in the first quarter)

Katic - Sullivan
Chiarlitti - Zupancic
Rogalski - Broussard

Forgot to sign Drydek I guess, so once I get him under contract he'll replace Broussard. Sullivan has been amazing for me so far, and Zupancic has been very good as well.

Neal - Arniel - Kerbashian
Francisco - O'Quinn - Ritchie
Zion - Preisinger - Hottot
Peters - MacQueen - Alderson

Top line RW rotates between several players, but for the past few wins this has been my line up. 2nd line is a little inconsistent, however the 3rd lines production kinda makes up for it. 4th line is seldom used.

Campbell - Raymond

Raymond was my starter for awhile going 4-4-1, but I decided to give Campbell a shot after he dominated the first few games in the league below, and I haven't looked back (10-2 record so far for Campbell).

Wow that was a naff draft. Not too many quality players at all. Hopefully some surprises will come up in training camp.

Question about season ending stats. The rules state that the end of season stats nee to be taken in the month of June. Playing in the OHL before in EHM I knew that after the draft in May we would have to deal with the reserve list. I took a screenshot of the stats in May the day I got the warning, then I took a screen shot in June and the players I released are not there. So in my stats post I will post both shots. Then maybe a rule change can be made of the CHL seasons.

I'm still playing my game from the last challenge, but maybe I jump on this one. I've never completed a season in the juniors and you all seem to like it.

I'm on my way to one of my worst segments ever, in games 17-34, 26 played, I have only two wins so far, but we score a lot so I hope that it will turn around soon. :help:

Hmmm... you bring up a good point. So if we take a screenshot for our player stats in June we won't show any guys that might have played well for us and then were released due to the reserve list? Like Overage players mostly. Right? For example, I could have Arniel as my top scorer for the season but not make the playoffs. Once the draft comes, I have to release some players because of my reserve list. So I release Arniel because he probably wouldn't be back next year. By releasing Arniel, I have no proof of his stats for the season if I take a screen shot in June.

Is that what you mean? If so, then I think we should have to make a change to the rules.

Yeah, that's what he means, as far as I see, and it would suck to have the best point scorer lost due to the reserve list.
