Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
Yes it does. First place plays 8th, 2nd vs 7th. You start against the teams that are supposedly weaker than you if you do well in the season.
However...as you know I have found out both seasons, that this does not mean a darn thing when you have too many Canucks, Sharks, Senators and Capitals on your roster.
Oh BTW--Virtually anyone on my team can be had in an appropriate deal. I hate every player I have

I got/had injuries to many of my star players and the rest are basically a bunch under-achievers. Harding is taking time from Bäckström and Dubnuk, who was a starter, never played a game due to Khabi. Burrows for Zetterberg left me with the worst under-achiever of the the bunch, Zetterberg doesn't do anything this season so far. Hemsky finally started playing after his operation but instead guys like Hall hit a bit of a slump. Markov never gets ready and is occupying the IR the whole time, leaving me with injured stars on the roster.
Still I go with these guys, boy I'm stupid and stubborn.

Has anyone ever had a stat line for one player, one game this close to filling out all the sections? All he missed was a penalty.

It seems like there are quite a few people that have stopped making changes this season... It stinks because they have good players just sitting around.

Nah...Stinson is not allowed to do anything til next week. But yeah...lots more inactivity. Once guys are out of the top 3-4 they tend to pack it up and go home...not sure why..since I ALWAYS lose come playoffs. BTW WILD BOARS SUCK.

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
Ok..so I protested the Sedin for Pacioretty and Skinner deal.
Normally I would not...but this trade is insane.
1. Noone told anybody else that these guys may be on the market...not a good thing at all in any league.
2. Pacioretty plus Skinner--38 goals to Henrik 12.
3. Pacioretty plus Skinner 230 plus shots to Henrik 88
4. Paciroretty plus Skinner 35 goals to Henrik 12
5. Pacioretty plus Skinner 66 PIM to Henrik 38
Only category that is a win for Marsac....is assists...by 8.
This is silly. What did Marsac pick up 1980s Wayne Gretzky?
It is funny because Marsac is 9-8 and Concussion 4-13 or something. Just don't understand why Marsac would make this deal to gain 8 assists, and possibly plus minus. No way does Henrik come close to outweighing those two in fantasy value, even if you include the 3 line guy that Marsac would have picked up.

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
So I guess I can be lumped into the grumpy old man category with batdad....
I'm here specifically to protest that trade between Marsac and Concussion. I was sure it would get vetoed - not completed!
For all the reasons posted above, the trade is ridiculous. Are you guys buddies in RL? There is no other excuse for making such a lopsided deal.
I would like to see it reversed...

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
100% agree. TOTAL OVERVALUATION of Henrik Sedin and completely unfair trade. Hideous. Not sure how the heck Marsac could be that silly.

And it went through when it was not even approved...that is why I am confused. I posted about it almost immediately....and rejected it in the ESPN page where it says to do so.

Yeah - I was under the impression that all deals had to be 'rubber stamped' by Stinson before they went through...

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
They do go through me, but if I don't respond after two days, I think, then they process automatically. I always manage to get on and approve them when I see the email, but unfortunately I don't recall seeing any recently. To be fair though, I'm sure I wouldn't have been knowledgeable enough to see anything wrong with this one, and would have just approved it anyway
Anywho, what exactly should we do with this one? Normally I'm not a fan of telling anyone who they can and can't trade, but is this one particularly malicious? Also, what about the couple of weeks we've already played since the trade - would there be objections over those stats and results?
Unfortunately, I can't really say what to do - I've lost significant interest in the NHL this year (Gary "Butthole" Bettman, the officials, whacky rules, etc.), so I've hardly been active in fantasy hockey lately

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
No you might not have, because I had registered my beef here and there before the trade went through. Somewhere...in the ESPN world there is a reject floating around from me.
This is a BS trade. rubbish. Whatever....I may not be back next year any way. Takes up too much time, cause I hate to lose at anything.
When the league commissioner is inactive fantasy leagues go downhill in a hurry. Since that is the case here, this league is starting to rub me the wrong way.

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
Too bad that you've lost interest B. I have to admit that this has been one of the better leagues I've participated in. It would suck to see it stagnate.
Also, I think the usual system for voting down a trade is three votes. We should have two now with myself and batdad.
Anyone else think Sedin has been way overvalued here? Next year shouldn't even factor into it. Sedin - Skinner would almost have been a fair deal. Pacioretty has 25 goals already this year and will probably be better next year. And, and, and....there are too many arguments against this deal to even continue...

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
Here comes the third rejection.
I agree with Batdad and CatchUp that Sedin is overvalues here. Marsac is probably seeing things through yellow-and-blue glasses...

Admittedly, i havent had much time for my fantasy team, just to be clear, no we are not real friends and he proposed that to me. If you want it overturned id be more than happy to oblige.

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
Hopefully we'll hear from Marsac. Being the one who proposed the deal, I'd like to hear what his thoughts are, 'cause I don't know if I'm comfortable snubbing him of his trade if he has his reasons for making it. Or if he's not too worried about it, I can easily edit things back.
Also, what do you guys think would be a good number of votes required to veto trades? ESPN defaults to only letting the Commissioner veto, which is what we've been using, but it appears that we'd benefit from letting the league vote. Ideally, I think 8/14 managers would be best, but are we active enough to ever hit that? Judging by this situation, it would appear we only have about three or four managers active in this matter.
