Danny...completely homer. Your last post proves it. Lucic hit a freaking goalie, and raised his arms into him well doing so. If that is not a suspension...nothing is. 90% of your posts are defending Bruin acts (except completely indefensible ones) or relating some story about how hard they are done by the league and anyone else. Or whining about Bruins stuff. There is nothing else you discuss.

Lucic hit deserved at least a fine. 29 other teams are now discussing in their rooms with reporters this hit and what it means for the future of goaltenders out of their crease playing the puck. To many it appears fair game. Because a Bruin did something illegal in the game and did not get what many players in 29 cities believe they would have received had it been them. To deny Looch deserved supplementary discipline is to be a complete homer.

I don't think it's any of your business which topics I choose to discuss and which not. You're free to ignore it :) The Bruins are the team that I follow so I talk about them, I'm hardly in the position to talk about the Jackets watching two of their games a year. I don't have the time to come on more often to discuss the latest Rags vs Flames game to decrease my percentage of Bruins talk to an acceptable quota, sincere apologies for that.

I guess Marty Brodeur is a Bruins homer now too because he agrees with the ruling.
Ironically you're the one whining here, not me. It will not have any affect on the future of goalies in the NHL, you're overreacting, making up stuff and reaching just to prove a point. Frequency of players being run into the stanchion hasn't increased since the Chara no-suspension eventhough it's an even more effective way of eliminating opponents, oddly.

Besides, you're not even bothering to read posts you reply to properly. I didn't defend Lucic, I said what he did was illegal and dirty. And I didn't say he didn't deserve supplemental discipline, I said he doesn't deserve to be suspended.

Two thirds of the gms in the league say supp discipline was warranted. But I guess only 9 are not whining.and when u post only about bruins and call yourself a non homer u get called out. I know u said it was illegal hit and agreed. Supplemental is the issue. Should have been some and mr radical Brodeur is always the guy whose opinion differs from everyone else. He is an odd lad

As for anything else. Not going to clutter the board with drama.leaving the rest of your ridiculous comments alone.

Posted on my phone so things may not read well. Moving on.

Well you're the one who started the drama with completely unnecessary personal attacks instead of just disagreeing. Posting about your own team only does not equal being a homer, sorry, you've got to look that definition up again. You were the one conveniently ignoring valid arguments from me, which is hardly the way to go in a serious debate. Case closed for me on that level as well though, agreed.

If 2/3s of the GMs disagree that's fine, why wouldn't it be, it's a controversial topic. Check out how the votes were split on the Tampa/Philly thing. The opinion of one of the greatest goalies ever certainly doesn't matter less than that of some random GM to me. I never said I disagree with supplemental discipline. Even if he were suspended for 2 games to send a message, right, shouldn't happen IMO but not the end of the world. I have a high standard as far as suspensions go. If it's not a hit directly to the head or a clear cut boarding I'll have a hard time agreeing with a suspension. Heck I was defending Burrows in the finals when others wanted him suspended, I believe it's been posted on this board as well for anyone to look up.

Holy rubbish what a game by Edmonton yesterday! I was starting to think they were already going down after a good season start but they showed that they can score goals! Nugent-Hopkins got 5 points! That kid is good let's just hope nobody will crushed him into the boards with only 170 pounds. :-p

The Bruins are continuing their rise to the top of the Division. Eight wins in the past ten. They could reach second in the Conference if you factor in their two games in hand. 8-)

I'm really enjoying watching the Jets at the moment - I really want to see them do well. A very good win against Philly yesterday, but they don't help themselves with the PIM they seem to rack up most games (although to be fair the refs were a tad harsh on occasion yesterday).

The game of hockey really needed this comeback of his. Some good news after all the depressed fighters and headshots taking the mediaspotlight.

I'm glad he(Crosby) is back and respect his talent and ability. And, I didn't see him whine last night, which is good. He may be starting to win me over. Let's see how long it lasts.

I can't agree more with you. Even if I don't really like him, it feels good to see him on TV making awesome plays. When a player with this impact goes silent for a long time there's a whole somewhere that nobody except Crosby himself can fill again. For a place like the US, it will be good to see him on TV again or in the news because of his point streaks, plays etc. His impact on the NHL is huge.

I completely disagree with this. Sid WAS a bit of a baby when he was younger..18-21 or so. But in the last few years, since he led the team to the Stanley Cup he has matured and grown up. He is now a leader in the room, on the ice, and everywhere he goes. A positive leader who does everything. He is smart, and he has grown up. He no longer "whines" like he did in the past.

Using experience here...I went through the Gretzky years as a teenager and a kid in my 20s...right through to my 30s. Gretzky was a whiner in Edmonton. No question. In LA...this began to subside and by the time he got to St Louis and New York it was virtually non existent.

Sometimes...captains and leaders who are stars get a "rep" as a whiner for various reasons. Here is a list of those reasons:

1. The guy actually is a whiner (Henrik Sedin, Roberto Luongo, Alexander Semin, Brian Burke)
2. The guy is a superstar at age 18 and has no idea how to deal with the limelight (Gretzky, Ovechkin, Crosby) and reacts negatively in the spotlight to certain things. Plus they are just in the limelight at such a young age, it is hard not to do something considered whining or immature...especially when the only thing people do not see you do is take a dump. We watch every single move.
3. Fans of other teams proliferate hatred towards this star player because of the fact that they "HATE" the team the player is on, thus hating that player. (Gretzky-Vancouver fans...funny when the rumour was out there he was going to sign in Vancouver everyone went apedoodles calling him the greatest thing since sliced bread instead of a whiner.
4. Captains of teams sometimes have to do the dirty work for the coach and teammates. This often leads to alot of camera time where they appear to be complaining and whining...just because they have to do it. Trust me...there is alot of off camera talk from other players to who are considered to be upstanding, hardworking guys. They just do it differently, and are not as under the microscope.
5. JEALOUSY/ENVY--People who wish they were in that position (Crosby, Gretzky, Kesler, etc etc) sometimes transfer this desire to being green with jealousy and look for ANYTHING to find negative about a player. Anything.

Guaranteed the people who are still calling Sid a whiner fit into one of the final 3 categories..fans of rival team, watching too closely under the microscope and not realizing that (lets use a 3rd line guy-Aaron Asham) talk to refs just as much but do not get the camera on them doing it), jealous envious people.

Sidney Crosby has become the consumate player. All 3 zones, leadership, extra special skills, media likeable, hard worker, physical player (when needs to be), and the extra special vision out there. He is in my mind...as close to Gretzky in terms of play we have ever had. And he is better defensively than Wayne. He is everything, including a leader....that anyone growing up playing hockey should try to be.

Funny...I never thought I would say that about Sid. When he was younger I thought he was a one way guy. Not interested in defense, nor leadership....just him. Things changed ... he continued to develop and grow up...Ovenchicken has not.

I saw some pictures of him whining/not happy, but maybe he was younger.

Boudreau fired. Dale Hunter as new guy. EWWWWW. This is a bad move by Washington in the long run. Hunter is a bit of a dufus. He is going to end up like Peter DeBoer. Too bad.

Maurice fired-Muller new guy. Great move by Carolina. Montreal is screwed. Fired Perry Pearn (their good special teams guy) and lost their best assistant to another team. Martin is done by end of year. That team is in trouble. Never figured out why Carolina brought Maurice back....now they get rid of him again. Good move for them.

Woot woot goodbye Humpty Dumpty! =D> I'm glad the Caps got rid of that guy finally! It should've been done last year when the Caps got a let down.

As for Muller I'm really surprised to see him back that quick into the NHL but I'm really happy for him. As an head-coach I'm impatient to see what he's gonna do. As for Pearn Batdad, you probably have guess that they fired him just to give something to eat to the raging fans who wanted Martin out after the awful season beginning. When they fired him I was like, what the hell is that move, it's pointless. Gauthier is a good friend of Martin he will never fired him, the move will come from Mister Molson itself, if he's waking up some day. Like someone said here, Molson knows hockey but not as much as his fater (maybe not as passionate too) so he's only gonna move when his money will start going down, which will not happen in a long time because good or very bad the arena is always full at MTL.

Spacek for Kaberle wow I wasn't expecting that at ALL. Seems to me a "good" trade considering the lacks of PP of MTL and it only cost Spacek who is just too old now. The problem is that Kaberle still got his head in Toronto. Who he suck bad! For the Canes dumping him for Spacek after signing him a 3 years deal, his value has dropped alot! But honestly, how is a offensive d-men like him could do well in the defensive boring style of play of Jacques Martin? Absolutely nothing. Gauthier tried to have a Wisniewski like last year but that won't happen.

Gauthier is desperate. He traded a good contract/aging player who is almost done away for a bad contract/aging player who has now been on 4 teams in 9 months. Gauthier knows he is on the verge of losing his job, and did anything he possibly could to save it. This trade should cause him to actually lose his job. Kaberle is terrible. He did nothing for Toronto last season, nothing in Boston last season (and playoffs) and nothing in Carolina. He is a liablity. Spacek at least tries.

Gauthier and Martin will and SHOULD be fired by the end of January. Carlyle de Randy? :-D
