How could I make it so there are always players in that league, for example: the u16 teams and the bantam teams in Canada always have players in them no matter what year your in. How could I make it so they are players in the league at all times? :-k 8-)
The only possible way would be to create even younger guys and have them with future_transfers in the extra_config. However, once you run out of created guys there is no way to decide how many players spawn there when created by the game

Question about birthdates.

I'm trying to create a player with a 28/03/2001 birthday and I can get the year to stick as long as I put 2001 also in the the Birth Year box. The problem is that once you load up the player in the game the month and date are always random while the year is correct. Any workarounds or is the game just not designed to deal with birth years in the 2000s?

Are you using the CSD Patch? And starting in 2013?
I ask because the game wasn't designed to handle ages younger than 13-14...when players are younger at start-up the game changes (randomly) the Month/Day while keeping the year. You can use the EHM Updater to edit/correct the Month/Day after you've started your game http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... it=updater

That explains it, because I start in 2012 out of habit at this point and the player would be 11. Makes sense. Thanks for the help.

Hey.

Might just be the server switch (though these are hosted externally, correct?), but the zip files are coming up as corrupt for me. I've downloaded them multiple times from multiple computers using multiple unzip programs (winzip, 7zip, Windows Explorer) and both Win7 and WinXP. It's happening with both the pre- and save game editor zips, though the roster update zips and all of the other utilities I've tried work fine. :dunno:

Are you downloading the Pre-Game Editor and Saved Game Editor via our SkyDrive/OneDrive hosting?

Was downloading via the direct link/attachment. The mirror/OneDrive link didn't work. I see it does now. Should work fine now.

Should put a note that the direct links/attachments don't work anymore. :)

Edit: The Save Game editor link to OneDrive still doesn't work/isn't there.

You're right, it does seem the attachments no longer work following the server move. Not sure why they were corrupted. I'm going to have to make some time to go through the downloads section to make sure everything is working correctly. On top of the attachments not working, the oldest of the SkyDrive links no longer work following Microsoft's OneDrive update!!!

I have added a OneDrive link for the Saved Game Editor.

How do I add players, to the database, to junior teams, or even as a free agent? I keep trying to create my own players, but none of the changes stick.

You need to ensure that you use "Run as Admin" when loading both the Editor and the game. Otherwise you'll end up with a shadow copy of your database and you'll find your changes don't stick.

What are you trying to change? DOB should be YYYY-MM-DD

this is kind of a dumb question but i want to be able to put all of my teams players to ufa and then take over their farm team and run there farm team so that its kind of like a expansion team without a expansion draft... my question is i don't want the team to be in red as far as money signing ufas... just wondering where in the editor is it where i can say put like 80-90 mill that way come june after the season i can then release all of the players to ufa and the team wont be in the red?

While I've never tried to do what you are trying, I think what you want is the Clubs tab, and then the Club Cash/Player Budget Attributes on the Club Info tab.
Also I think another factor would be the Chairman's Resources Attribute (and maybe his Business Attribute too).

I am getting an error when trying to save my database: error at re-indexing forenames at index 254. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Are you able to save your DB at all? You could try loading and saving the DB using the EHM Updater because it recalculates the name indexes when saving.

I tried that, but I still get the same error and if I try to load it in-game and it crashes.

Did anyone try to start game before 2006 year? I'm trying to recreate 1993 year and I'm wondering if I should adjust players age to 2006 year. :-k

The Custom Start Date (CSD) Patch allows you to choose your start date http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =88&t=8283
My two cents...I'd use the actual/correct DOBs, and use the CSD (and when you're ready to release your retro database it's actually not hard to create a "2006 version" of the database as well; the TBL Rosters release two versions, there's two versions for the 1974 database, etc)

Are you aware of the EHM Updater? It's a great tool for use with large EHM editing tasks (like creating a 1993 database) http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 10&t=11154

FYI
There are a few retro databases http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... .php?f=116
The 1998 database is still being (very slowly!) worked on http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 13&t=11698
And some extra work has been done on the 2006 database http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 13&t=11256
I created a 1974 database, and there are a couple (rather large) development threads http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =13&t=7860 and http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =13&t=9147

And for editing there's LOTS more helpful stuff available at TBL too! 8-)

Thank you for quick response :) . I have few savegames on these retro rosters and that motivated me to try myself in recreating 1993 year. Lot of work but it's quite refreshing for the game.

I haven't heard about EHM Updater yet and I was using only Pre Game Editor 1.7. This one looks so much more advanced, I have already downloaded this file and I am so excited =P~ . I see that I should edit almost everything what I have done before, but fortunately I only recreated Hartford Whalers and partialy NY Rangers, so I'm not demotivated :D . The only thing I'm afraid of is level of my hockey knowledge... I don't know yet how to adjust some atributes to recreate hockey from '93, but if I will have some new informations or problems I will definitely let you know about that :)

Thank you for your advices once again :)
