Hey, I've been having some trouble with the editor and figured this was the best place to post. Being a long-time player of EHM I decided to take the next step into editing and create some custom teams. I started with the KHL, changed the names of 2 teams, and gave them salary/budget info, and saved the database to see if the name changes would work. When I ran EHM, I got an error reading "v 3.0.4 russia_superleague cpp" and the game crashed. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I read some instructions on using the editor but couldn't find a good tutorial so this is probably just my own ignorance.

Did you change the league name? If you try that with the editor then it'll crash.
You also need to have the exact number of teams in the divisions of the League. I can't remember on the top of my head if the RSL has divisions.

League name is unchanged, only renamed teams, so number is the same, and no, there are no divisions.

Did you overwrite two teams? EHM07 doesn't seem to like "missing teams" - maybe try making two teams defunct, and create two teams to replace them (so when the game starts up it finds all the teams it expects to in the DB)

EDIT: You were right, Nino. Made the teams "defunct" instead of removed and it worked fine. Thanks for the help.

I am trying to resurrect the Quebec Nordiques in the NHL. So far I get an error when the game loads and it crashes. I Cleared NYI's info and filled the Nordiques info.. anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

You need the name New York Islanders(with the TM symbol) in the db.
It can be as an extinct club

Thanks I fixed it. I had chosen northeast division instead of Atlantic

I'm bought the 2007 Game in 2008 and always played by the original database.. But now my hometeam "augsburg panthers"/DEL has changed a lot. i download the game editor, started as "administrator" (i shortly explain what i was doing)

1. started the editor
2. open the game files
3. on "Arenas" i change the capacity (7774 to 8500 and seats from 1500 to 2500) and ice conditions in "good" after that i "save"
4. open "clubs" select "augsburg panthers" (not Augsburger EV/Augsburg Juniors i leave them untouched)
i change the average attendance from 4227 to 5227, the max attendance from 4500 to 6400, min attendance from 3200 to 4200.
5. the Player Budget is now more then 2006, from 2080000 i changed it to 3500000. And i try to give them 500.000 € Club Cash
for the beginning (thats not too much i belive)

after this was done i saved it (File/save) with nor errors. Open the Game start a new game, select Augsburg Panthers, but nothing
has changed... the Player Budget is the same as before, and also the "club cash" is "0"

I try to find an answer here, but i couldnt. What went wrong? Are the steps ok what i have done? Do you have any tipps for me?

When you started the new game did you select your modified roster?

Did you use Run as Administrator when running the game too?

No you misunderstand what I said. You mentioned in your first post that you load the Editor as Administrator. However, what I asked is if you loaded the game also as Administrator. I believe you have to do both.

Did you remember to press "Confirm" after every edit?

First of all Thanks to everybody i involved here...

1. archibalduk no i didnt run the game as an admin.. but i try.. both - editor and game.. nothing changed, same original data.. hmm
but i always save every single step i do, the only thing i do is change the Arena in Augsburg (Editor/Arena) and Club Data (Editor/Clubs)
but the same as before...

and with "confirm" you mean "save it"? if so - i do.. i try to save every single step. 1.Editor/Arena 2. Editor/Clubs that means i save
it 2 times. Because when i dont save it after i leave the Arena Data, the original datas will be shown the next time i open the "arena field"

No, because i dont find a checkbox for "modified roster" when i start ehm2007, can you explain that for me? where is the "modified roster"?
In the Editor i dont find anything, also not in the game itself.. Maybe i need new glasses? But there is also not an "Export" function in the editor
only an "import" So do me a favour and let me know where i find the "modified roster" option... Thanks

i hope i get this problem solved...

Each time you edit a record in the Editor, you must click on the Confirm button. It is located in the bottom right corner of the Editor on every screen. If you don't click on Confirm each time then your changes will be unsaved.

When you click on New Game in EHM it will give you a list of databases to choose from. You will need to select your modified database. However, if you only have one database installed then I'm not sure you'll get the prompt to select a database (I think it might only appear if you have more than one database).

first of it: when i open the game from the desktop (windows7/64 bit) i never had an option to choose which database is to load. the thing is - it starts only, thats all. with no option before. i try to change the seats and capacity of the stadion, but i cant "confirm" it...


the confirm button: i look for the confirm button as you described it, i cant find... its no button there at all only "clear"
is there something wrong with this editor or with my windows 7 version? so the problem is clearer right now, because
i cant "confirm" my changes.... thats really silly.... hmmm, i see only "clear" buttons.. thats all

i load up two screens, here are the images:

Those images show that you don't see the entire editor. Which version of the editor are you using?

Mr Manimal, as you can see at the shown Images above, 207.1.7 (Build 132) (in big letters... )

so this must be a editor failure? why cant i see the whole editor? this pc is "up to date" so it seems that this last
version has a bug inside?

i try this version at 2 other PCs (also windows XP) BUT its the same result as the images above... no "confirm button"
So where is the problem here?

I try all 3 versions on the downloadsite, 1.6 and 1.7.. No one of these versions show me the "confirm" button.

my different Home Systems for testing (all up to date):

Windows 7 - 64 bit
Windows 7 - 32 bit
Windows XP

That is really puzzling. I have a 64-bit Windows 7 and it works just fine. Could the problem possibly lie in the computer's settings? (Larger fonts?)

Or perhaps some kind of aspect ratio / screen resolution related mismatch?

I've checked the fonts also, found nothing. really strange...

checked also this hint, ratio is ok 1920 x 1080 these are my normal settings... i put it down, check the editor.. nothing changed, so i put it back to 1920 x 1080..


but anyway, i hope i find it out whats goin on on my pc's.... But i also have to work in the meanwhile... when i went back from the 12 hrs nightshift tomorrow ,
i give it another try..
