I got offered 'citizenship', I basically got to choose whatever city I wanted to and become a permanent citizen of that city. I choose to just discard it, and wait for the offer next Popo year, as I really have no idea about the pro's and con's just yet.

EDIT: I just realized it probably has something to do with the VIP thing, as that just got confirmed.

Yup, that's it... VIPs get to claim Citizenship. If you canceled it out you can do it by going down to City Hall I think. By becoming a citizen it will say on your page like on April's 'Citizen of New York'. That allows us to vote for Mayor for example.

Hmm... I was looking around at the availble NYC CEO jobs, and I wasn't too impressed. Perhaps I will go check out Toronto later on today, and see whats going on there. Being a citizen of another city doesn't effect anything I do with TDG does it?

Being VIP is what gives you the chance take a VIP job anywhere in the world, so you may as well go with New York since that's where your apartment is and where we spend most of our time. IT won't preclude you from taking a CEO spot in Rio if you want ;)

As for the ones listed as available, send a message to the owner of the place with the opening and say you'll take the job if they'll pay you a full CEO salary and ask about bonuses if it's a shop or something. I think people list low salaries hoping a noob VIP will go "ooh 1100 that's lots!" :-D

Also, keep in mind that if you work for somewhere you get 20% off so a CEO gig at somewhere that sells books can be quite a deal in and of itself when talking about the big books that are super expensive.

Alright, so no matter where I'm a citizen I can get a CEO job anywhere. Good to know, as the NYC CEO jobs all sucked. :thdn:

I was actually thinking of trying to get a job at a good recording place, that way we can record our singles/albums alot cheaper. Or did the contract TDG signed include some free recording sessions or something along those lines?

You're definitely not the only one. I even seen a few days go by where I get no updates at all except really late at night. I remember getting them about two to three times a day. :(

We get free recording at any Prophecy studio including the one in NYC  And then we get 60% on royalties... you can find it listed under 'Records and Videos' in the artist section under 'Contracts'. Not the clearest named/organized location for it I just remember seeing it there once 8-)

As for the CEO job you could even just check out different locations as we tour and/or check out locales that have gone up recently in Mexico City or Brussels as they probably don't have CEOs yet. The big company owners rush to get new locations established when new cities open but there are far more locations that people available to work as CEOs.

You know what's really bad? Shortly after typing that post, I logged in to Popomundo to check and see if it had updated. Sure enough, it had. Unfortunately, me being an idiot, I forgot to move back to NYU after the band's last jam. So I just stretched out the time it's going to take me to get my first star in stagediving. ](*,)

NEWBIE POINTS! Man, those were great. Don't you wish you knew then what you know now? I would've spent my points so much more wisely.

While thats probably the best idea, I don't feel like waiting a month, unless there's a way to read other cities classifieds without actually being in the city? :-?

Regardless, I've bought a ticket to Toronto for tonight, I shall be back either tonight or early tommorow.

I think I read somewhere that those stats were broken and didn't work like they should. Intelligence affects how you learn skills or teach others skills. If you have lower intelligence, your mood can drop from struggling to learn a skill. A certain amount of charm is needed to get certain jobs. I'm not sure if charm translates into performance or not though. It should but I don't know if it does.

From the beginning I put much emphasis on Intelligence, and I'm still doing so. I'm at the point now where I'm losing hardly any mood at all when studying, and it's nice. I no longer have to pull of that routine where I constantly have to counter studying with a "mood booster" to stay of of the hospital

I did my first show without a mic., but I don't remember it having any major impact.

However, they have a new show system now - so it's possible that they added/increased penalties.

To add to the good stuff already said on the topic...

Vocals are fairly useless, there is an actual job you can take as a singer in which it helps, other than that the benefit is that you sound better when you sing to people as an interaction. People fall in love with April a little when she sings because I erroneously burned too many points on vocals ](*,)

Musicality is important for shows however as well as influencing how you do with your chosen instrument. That and Intelligence are keys. Intelligence affects everything pretty much. The higher your intelligence the faster you learn skils which is obviously crucial. And as Stinty said, when it is easier for you to study your skills it doesn't detract from your mood as much. Think of it as the difference between reading a book you want to and a book you have to for school to be quizzed on. One is enjoyable the other is stressful.

As for skills that can help you keep an even keel, that's why I by the new characters Yoga; if you study it up you'll loose less health from your day to day activities and when you excercise you'll gain more health back more quickly.

All characters have inherent strengths and weaknesses too, you'll figure them out as you go along. April is tough to shake in mood and health but learns and writes songs (as I was bitchin about earlier) verrrrry slowly even with all I've done to raise her Intelligence factor. Int eh time people take to skill up to 5 stars April will probably still be at three :dunno: It's just her nature.

You'll also find characters have different preferences for favorite foods getting more mood from one than another and things to do, April gets a much bigger mood boost from shopping than partying for example. So it makes the game interesting having some variables, it's far from a cut and dry game.

It's Day 84 or so for those of us that started together "back in the day" so that's how come we've been able to piece together as much as we have, but yeah we've been having a blast with it.

EDIT: I sing on stage too; but I'm an untrained hack :-D I work for an improv comedy theater (think Whose Line Is It Anyway?), so we have a lot of musical games where we for example have to make up a Reggae song about the circus or act out a scene and then do over again this time as a Rogers and Hammerstien musical and then as a Rock Opera... etc.

What kind of band are you in btw?

me=drama and communications + multimedia design major. I know my way around improv game or two. :joy:

well, I WAS in an acoustic act until I moved to BC in October. We had been doing fairly well in our little area of Ontario, and it sucked to leave it behind, but school calls! 8-)

April's Diary wrote:I finished my song Tear It Tonight!. It turned out great. :joy:

Tear It Tonight! is a Punk Rock Anthem. The tempo is Presto. Written by April Sherwood and dated to 2007-01-11. The melody is mind melting :-D and the lyrics are pleasant.
And with that I officially retire from song creation! I've got lyrics to a cool punk sing along that I'm going to pass on to Jeb to use and anyone who has VIP and can put in lyrics I'll happily write up songs for ya. I just can't stand the being chained to my songwriter's desk to do them in the game anymore.

I'm actually thinking about becoming VIP... but i don't have any credit card, so i'll have to see with my bank what i have to do to have a Paypal account, and if it's possible to have one without having credit card, etc

Minty: should you find me the cheapest fire detector available in NY, please? I've seen one at 295$, but i don't remember where...and there are maybe cheapest ones...

to everyone: i've made a list of books i wish to buy for now or a bit later, and watch the description of some competences, and found an interesting one, which is Religion. It increases your mood when you're resting, so while resting you increase both your health AND your mood! :joy: And with a high level in it, it should increase your mood even if your health is already good. But the book is not that cheap... I've seen some, and it's over 5000$...
