Are you using "Run as Administrator" when you open the Editor? (right click, click on Run as Administrator)
Are you ensuring you, after you make an edit, you're clicking on the Confirm button and then Saving your changes?

Obvious question: You are reimporting the DB into EHM:EA after making your changes?

You can't edit the EHM:EA version. You have to use the 2007 version and then import it

Did not make the 40+ page so hope it's not a question that's was answered.
Don't know why, but I can't use the Editor since tonight. I was able to use it for the past 2 weeks and since tonight, nothing working, I explain.
When I click on the editor to open it, the editor open, but nothing happening. I have it open on my toolbar, but when I click on it, nothing open. So it's open in my toolbar but not in my screen. I restart my laptop, nothing. I delete the editor and re-install it, still nothing. Run the editor as administrator, still nothing.
Do you have a idea?
thanks for the help
Player's Potentian

Can someone give me a scale of what the potentials and abilities are? (Ex. Player ability 0-200)
Also what does -9 potential mean because it says McDavid has -10 potential while there are random players with-12 potential and Dylan Larkin has-14 potential. I thought the lower it was the better but there are random players with lower numbers than McDavid.
Thanks

Copied from our Wiki:
-1 Potential will be between 1-20 (likely to retire at a young age and keep getting recycled back into the regen pool)
-2 Potential will be between 10-40
-3 Potential will be between 30-60
-4 Potential will be between 50-80
-5 Potential will be between 70-100
-6 Potential will be between 90-120
-7 Potential will be between 110-140 (quite rare – a good prospect with a decent chance of being a regular NHL player)
-8 Potential will be between 130-160 (rare – a top prospect with a good chance of being a talented NHL player)
-9 Potential will be between 150-180 (very rare – a top 10 prospect who is considered a can’t miss NHL talent)
-10 Potential will be between 170-200 (extremely rare – the top player available in a draft, but not every year)
-11 Potential will be between 20-80 (intended for very young, hard-to-predict players)
-12 Potential will be between 40-100 (intended for very young, hard-to-predict players)
-13 Potential will be between 60-130 (intended for very young, hard-to-predict players)

If I want to create a new player from scratch, is that old editor fine (as I understand there are new variables for players like game style orientation, not exactly sure if that's how it is called)? Or is there a better tool for the job?
Thank you very much in advance and keep up the amazing work guys

That's exactly right - edit the 2007 DB using the Pre-Game Editor and/or Updater and then import into EHM:EA. This is how we develop the TBL Roster Updater - i.e. the master DB is a an EHM 2007 DB which we work on and then release to the public so that they can import into their EHM:EA game.
Regarding Player Roles (this is the game style orientation you refer to): Unfortunately these cannot be edited using the Pre-Game Editor because the Roles were only recently introduced (and development of the Pre-Game Editor ceased a number of years ago). The only way to edit these is via the Updater version 3. However, if you set a Role to a player and subsequently edit that player in the Pre-Game Editor, he'll lose his Role (this does not prevent you from editing the DB - it's only if you edit that specific player).

I don't want to edit those variables per se, I want to create new players and my worries are just that by creating a new player using the pre-game editor I will crash something due to new content and variables for the new game. Then again, if the DBs are made using the 2007 master then I assume creating a new player will not be any problem as well and all will be sorted when the import to EHM:EA is made.
Thanks once again!

You have probably already figured out how to fix this problem, but this answer is for others experiencing the same problem...
It sounds like your pre-game editor window has somehow ended up outside your screen. Open regedit by pressing windows key + R, type regedit and press enter. On registry editor, browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Eastside UK > NHL EHM Edit 2007. Double click on FormLeft DWord entry and set value to 0, do the same for FormTop. Now when you launch the editor, it will open the window on top left corner of your screen(s).

I would like to know how "Current ability" and "Potential ability" works.
Current ability obviously is how goof player is right now but I'd like to know in scale from what to what is this number. 0-200? And what would be exact function of this attribute if player already have visible attributes that show how good the player is. Does current ability is like hidden attribute to make game more challenging for example I would have player with good visible attributes but his current ability is low so he would suck in game?
And potential ability of course is potential but I don't understand how those number are generated and what they mean. Example: Stamkos has potential ability 194 I would guess that means he has very good potential. But this years draft 1oa pick McDavid has potential ability of -10 and Eichel has -9. By my understanding that would mean no potential at all but everyone knows they are two best prospects IRL and I'm sure it's same in the game too.
So could somebody explain how does potential ability numbers work so I could create players with realistic potential and what is the function of current ability.
I hope you understand what I'm asking for since my English isn't the best.

Yes, you are right. Both current ability and potential ability is a value between 1-200. At least in EHM 2007 the current ability did have a significant impact on the players' performance (I tested this, and found out that players with the same attributes but drastically different current abilities were miles apart from each other in statistics). As for Early Access, the role of current ability is probably the same, but now the attributes are tied to the current ability so that a player cannot have high attributes but low current ability and vice versa.
As for the negative potential abilities:
-1 Potential will be between 1-20 (they will likely retire at a young age and keep getting recycled back into the regen pool)
-14 Potential will be between 90-160 (intended for very young, hard-to-predict players)
-15 Potential will be between 110-190 (intended for very young, hard-to-predict players)

There are different types of players, represented in game by Player Roles.
Player Role affects what Attributes develop more so and which develop less so.....so
players with the same or similar CAs but different Player Roles will have different Attributes as their strongest/weakest (and don't forget in addition to the Attributes visible in-game there are hidden Attributes, like Consistency, Decisions, Important Matches and more...Player Role is also hidden too. The idea is over time the hidden Attributes can be "figured out" by reading the Coach/Scout comments carefully in addition to player stats/performance details).
Examples of Player Roles include the sniper, grinder, playmaker, pointman and enforcer (and more).
IIRC there's a PDF chart showing the different Player Roles that comes with the EHM Updater download
