I haven't been able to try the online league mode yet and was just wondering if any of you guys had tried it, if it was any good and also if you guys fancy setting one up in the near future?

Yeah, I didn't try it yet. I'm waiting on a better PC. I surly will play online but I'm really questioning about the speed.

If it's like in CM01/02... :roll:

I'm playing a net game with 4 other people. It is very fun. I am polaying as Cardiff Devils and teh other human players control nottingham, manchester, belfast and coventry.
We used an up to date database so its this seasons rosters that we started with. I started teh season off great and won my first 12 leaguyes games. Nottingham kep up with me and have now taken over at the top and have established a bit of a gap.

here is the current table

Elite league table

Nottingham 34 games 56 Points
Cardiff 35 games 50 points
Belfast 35 games 42 points
Coventry 35 games 38 points
Manchester 34 games 36 points
Basingstoke 34 games 27 points
Sheffield 35 games 17 points
London 34 games 16 points

Runs fairly smoothly and is fairly fast considering. I only have a 56k connection and its fine for me. Obviously tho I don't host it as it would be very slow but as long as teh host has a descent connection its great. There is teh occasional crash but it is fairly rare and its very playable and enjoyable.

Anyone else playing a net game or have played a net game?

I'm playing a net game with my friend. There's only two of us, but it's still fun, because you can see what he's doing: "Ooooh! He signed Ron Francis as an assistant coach!" etc. and the games between Espoo Blues and HPK are the most fun, like in RL, because we're both big fans of our teams. :P

If we were to organize a net league here in TBL, I'd definately be in! :thumbsup:

Yeah good idea... I'm also in.
Should we waint until we are with 5 ppl?

BTW, I've got a new PC :D

Pentium 4 - 3,4 Ghz
512 DDR
6600 GT, 128 MB Graph Card
200 GB Hard Disk

We should also deside which league to play. NHL would be the one every one knows about, but I think it has too many teams for a multiplayer game. Smaller league with fewer teams would be more exciting. That's how I see it.

Any suggestions? Who's in? So far me, Octavian and Petrie? Gazza?

Not sure if that's good enough for EHM. :-D

I'd be interested in joining an online TBL league as well :)

Not sure how (or if) we'll be able to get everyone's schedules to match but a weekly gaming session should be do-able.

Also some people are from Europe and others from North America, so it should prolly be saturday or sunday.

Let's deside a day, so that we'll know how long we'll wait for people "signing in" so to say...

I suggest Satudray 19th March. In two weeks.

Ok, here are my suggestions:
  • - Somebody needs to be in charge of this league so that they can organise the dates and times when to play;

    - It would be best if the person in charge is also the host;

    - Some rules need to be drawn up;

    - A sign up thread (one of the mods can make this a sticky and a news item on the portal page) needs to be created where anybody wanting to play can list the days and times they are normally available to play;

    - I can e-mail every forum member to see whether anybody is interested (if you like).
Sadly, I will be way too busy to be able to commit to something like this. I have exams in a month, etc. :(

Hi everyone, joe helmer contacted me about the possibility of online league so i decided to return, now that people seem to have taken interest. It was august when i made the thread but i'd definitely still be interested, although I'm out of practice with EHM, been playing FM over the last few months. I'm definitely in when we get enough people and get it sorted.

PS - nice work on updating the site guys

Oh, I didn't even notice this thread has been here since august! :shock:

There's six people "in it" so far, that's more than plenty!

We should decide when to start playing! :)

I'm sure your prom date won't take it badly if you say you're going to play EHM instead. :-D

No seriously... how about 12th, not this coming weekend, but the next one.

So, I could like add all you guys to my MSN Messenger on saturday next week, and we'll see how many players we got?

I'll add all on saturday 12th.

Say it here if you don't want to play afterall, or say it here if you want to join. I'll start adding sometime in the evening so that our North American participants don't have to wake up at 6 am :-D

Oh, and make sure you have your email in your profile and MSN Messenger installed if you want in. :)

Hmm... it needs to be a precise time to make it easier to hit the mark on when to sit by the computer... Let's see...

*surfing the net to find a page about time zones*

Okay, we'll start at 8pm Helsinki, 7pm Stockholm, 6pm London, 1pm New York.

Is that okay?

Actually my friend has 1.0.5 and it works if he's the host.

Not sure if it works the other way around.

Let's make 1.0.5 minimum version requirement. I wouldn't want to try 1.0.3 :)
