EHM The Blue Line

Had a quick(but frustrating) question to ask, hopefully someone can help me. I've looked through the tactics threads, and can't seem to find and answer, maybe it isn't even a matter of tactics.

To the point, I can't get the most out of star players. Guys like a 28yo Tavares with a 20 attribute in nearly every category I top out with around 90 points per season, which while excellent in real life isn't quite a league leader in EHM where guys are up around 120-130 with the same or worse attributes.

I've tried him as the playmaker of a line, shoot first/pass first, carry puck checked/unchecked, surrounded by star players. I simply cannot get him to be a top player despite his top attributes. So my question to you guys is; how do you go about setting up the ideal tactics/lines/rosters for elite players?

I dunno. I loaded up the latest manimal rosters a few weeks ago and had Tavares as my #1 center. I think I had him with 27-28 g and close to 60 pts after 35 games or so. Got bored after that and went back to my main file.

I don't think there's a magic answer, or else everyone would just do that and the game wouldn't be worth playing anymore. I just try to exploit my players' strengths and minimize their weaknesses.

There are also some hidden attributes which can muddle the picture. What you see isn't always what it seems.
