Strong at home, weak away ??!!

Hey guys,
I've got a problem with my away games. I play with the Penguins (I already know they cheat
) and I'm very stron at home, I've got a 10 games winning streak, but in my away games I'm loosing and loosing all the time.
Do you think it is necessary to change my tactics for away games or is it bad luck?

If this is a constant thing, then I would definately suggest changing your tactics.
From what I heard a while ago at the SI forums, a lot of people liked to use an attacking style at home, and a more defensive style on the road. Personally, I tried this strategy with my own spin, but my home and road results were still pretty average for my team. But however you go about it, changing tactics should be the first thing you do.

Everyone plays the game differently, you really just have to find something that works for you. Personally, I always play with two very offensive lines, then two lines made up of 'depth' guys.If i'm having trouble winning on the road, telling my offensive lines to just play a defensive role would never work, what I do is tell them to play more physical, and to press the puck more often, often times it works. Mess around with different tactics, and see what works best for your team.

If someone wants to simulate a Leafs season, I'm sure they'd ask you.
I always have this problem in the WHL, but not in other leagues.

Thanks for that tip, I tried and let my first two lines play offensive and I hat 17 wins in a row. In the following playoffs my goali (M-A Fleury) had 7 shut-outs in my 16 playoff wins to the stanleycup. Thats gigantic. A 8 - 0 win in the first final against Colorado.
The morale:

Unless you have a team of Mike Peca's and john Maddens, yes it is. I'm hopeing its one thing that will be better balanced in the next version, but then again, offensive style rules in the new-nhl.

You'll get bad results from having offensive players (to use extreme examples for effect) say Illya Kovalchuk checking on defense as you'll have bad results from trying to turn Mike Ricci into a sniper.
Same if you have a great shooter try to be a playmaker instead of a scorer... so the larger lesson really is have your players play to their strengths whatever they may be and let that decide how your team as a whole plays.

wow, 17 win in a row! That's some lineup you got there. Can you list all your players? Also about the tatic thing, whenever my scout tells me a team likes to play a dump and chase style, its always a good bet to change the tatic from ZONAL to MAN (at least it works for my Pittsburgh team).
