EHM 2007 - Database problems

Hello. I got the demo first and then bought the full game and of course I wanted to get some new rosters. I downloaded one of the TBL's rosters and ''accidentally'' I overwrote the other stuff in the NHL eastside hockey manager/data/database and then I tried to fix it for a while and it seems messed up... what should I do? Delete and reinstall the game? My payments still will be made, I guess. So I don't have to pay again?

Btw, this comes up when I press ''new game'': v3.0.1 select_leagues_screen.cpp 77

I'll try to answer your possible questions.

First off, you should patch it to 3.0.4

I have done that now. My database-file is full now again. The game still won't work though. Now it says v3.0.1 db_files.cpp 1809

Why is it 3.0.1 when I have downloaded the 3.0.4 patch? I'm having issues understanding where it has gone wrong. Have I put a map in the wrong place or something? :-(

Did you install the v3.0.4 patch? If the error is still saying "v3.0.1" then you mustn't have installed the patch.

With regards to the Database folder, you can erase everything in that folder and then replace it with the original default v3.0.4 rosters (click here). It's best to leave the default rosters in the Database folder because otherwise it can cause problems later on. To install additional databases, place them within separate sub-folders within the Database folder.

Hi!
I installed patch 3.0.4 and downloaded the newest TBL rosters. As you (archibalduk) told, I put it as a separate sub-Folder within the datebase Folder:

So there is the separate new folder and above the original datas. When I extracted it, I decided to take the third option: Copy but don't erase the original datas.

Now it look´s like:

TBL Rosters v6.0 2006 adjusted
affiliations.dat
city.dat
club.dat
....
and so on

When I start a new game, I have not the opportunity to decide which rosters (2006 or 2013/2014) I want to use and I always have the "old" rosters. What am I supposed to do? Take the first option and replace the old datas with the new ones when extracting it? I'm a little bit afraid of erasing the old rosters..

Thank you very much for your help, really appreciate it!

Greetings,
Matthias

Sorry, I'm not sure quite how you've got it set up. I thought maybe it might help if I showed how I have my database folder set up.

Here's my database folder (if you want to keep the original v3.0.4 database files, then you would leave these directly within the database folder too. You'll see in the screenshot below that I haven't kept the original files):

Image

Within the database folder, I have sub-folders for each database I have. Within each sub-folder I have the data files directly inside like this:

If you have your folders set up like I do, and you're definitely running v3.0.4, then you should be able to select which database you want when you click on the New Game button in game. You can check your game version from the Game Settings/Preferences screen (you can see it says "3.0.4" near the red arrows in the screenshot below):

Another tip: When loading EHM always use the 'Run as Admin' option.

Thank you very much for your reply!
Yes, I have the purchased Version 3.0.4.
But maybe I have found the solution for my problem. Right now, the new sub-folder is in the database folder next to the original data files. Do I have to create another sub-folder and put all the original data files in it?

No, you can leave the original data files within the database folder. However, you could try moving them into a sub-folder and see what happens. I know EHM can get a bit fussy about the structure of the database folder.

I would be interested to see a screenshot of your database folder and of the TBL Rosters 2006 Adjusted sub-folder.

To be honest, I don't know how to post a screenshot in this Forum.
But it looks exactly like yours, except that the new sub-folder is next to the old data files...I put them in another sub-folder as I said - but nothing changed
Where can I usually decide which datas I want to take when starting a new season? Is it a pop-up?
Many thanks!

It's when you click on the New Game button. It comes up with a small pop-up window asking which DB you want to use.

The reason I asked for a screenshot is that I want to check that the TBL Rosters data files are directly within the sub-folder and that they're not within a sub-sub-folder (if you see what I mean).

The TBL Rosters data files are directly within the sub-Folder...so it Looks like

Data
>>
Database
>>
TBL Rosters Folder
Original datas (affiliations.dat and so on)
>>
TBL Rosters datas (affiliations.dat and so on)

I have not created any other sub-sub-Folder

I hope it is clear what I mean :-)

Thank you very much!

Hmmm I'm struggling with this one. If you have v3.0.4 installed and you have the database folder setup with the correct organisation of sub-folders, it should just work.

I would suggest in the circumstances to do a full uninstall and then re-install like this:

- Unlicense EHM
- Uninstall EHM
- Delete the EHM 2007 folder if uninstalling did not delete it
- Reinstall EHM
- Install the v3.0.4 patch
- Try adding the TBL Rosters as a sub-folder within the database folder again
- Then see if EHM now lets you choose which DB to use.

Everything fine now, I've made a stupid mistake before, so no uninstalling was needed...thank you very much!
