EHM: EA Morale Issues? or do my players just not like me?

Hey Gang,
first some info to help stage the situation:
So i'm nearly at the playoffs on my first season,
my team is at the top of the league,
I haven't made any trades since preseason,
I haven't disciplined anyone, nor had any reason to,
all players conditions are from 95-100%
nobody on the team or myself or staff are 'disliked' by any players
now for the meat of the issue: My players are a miserable lot.
examples:
carey price, has played 63 games, no injuries, has won 54 of them (!), good stats.. highest his morale has ever been is 'ok' often 'low'
ryan o'reilly, played 80 games, has 70 points, all stats good, plays second line, PP time, PK time.. avg just under 20 minutes a game.. morale always low or very low
marc methot, 80 games, 20 points, good stats, 3rd pairing, lots of PK time, average 17 minutes a game.. always 'very low'
my entire 4th line , (malhotra, weiss, smith pelley , prust) are always 'very low', despite flawless health, decent time, and PK time for some.
3rd line not much better, almost always 'low'
pretty much only top 2 forward lines and top defense pairing have okay morale.. and only the very best players have 'very good' sometimes.
i know it's not incredibly game breaking or anything, but im not sure how to fix it (tried lighter/different practice scheduling, linemates, positions, ice time, tactics) the only way anyone ever improves is if they are put on the top line.. but as much as i like the guy, im not gonna put malhotra as my #1 centre just to keep him happy.
anyone else having this issue or have any suggestions? thanks in advance.
