Anyone else find it hard to get higher up jobs?

What I mean like going from a Junior League to the next level. Maybe it's because of my lack of experience but I find it really hard to get another job in the same league in EHM:EA.
For example, I created a decent record with Quebec Remparts but when I applied for jobs in the WHL and OHL I can't get them. I also tried AHL and ECHL but I think it's because of the lack of experience or automatic experience?
