So perusing through my players bios and stuff, I see that Marian Hossa is friends with Marcel Hossa, Marcel Hossa plays for the KHL, and Marian in the NHL with the Hawks, would them being friends make Marcel more willing to come to NHL? What is the function of this? Thanks!

Guys like to play with their friends and relatives, and yes it is possible that Marcel would come back just because of his brother. But...also realistically he would know if can play in NHL and if situation is right for him....his brother/friend is of course not the only determining factor. Sometimes real life media puts way too much emphasis on buddies/siblings playing with each other. First and foremost they want to play.

Yes, in game, I do believe that free agents are more willing to sign for a team that has staffs or players who they like.

Furthermore, they are less likely to sign with teams with players they Dislike, and they will outright refuse to sign with teams they Dislike. If you toss tow players who dislike one another anyways, it can do some bad things to your roster.
I specifically played around with the Dislike in 2007, added a whole lot of Dislikes to various players and teams just to see. It was fun. There should maybe be more Dislikes added to the TBL rosters, especially below the NHL level...

Bad things to your roster how so? Trade demands? Refusals to play?(Jaromir Jagr anyone?) poor play?

It depends on how important a role the players involved have. I put together a unit of players that all disliked each other as a test one time and the impression I got was that even though all the players had really good Consistency, they still played wildly inconsistent and morale just steadily dropped.
I could be off, of course. But that was my experience. You don't see instant results from it, but after a while it's like your team loses all will to live.
It would be a fun community project to put together a list of Likes and Dislikes maybe to be added to the TBL rosters.
