NOOB Two Way Contract question

Hey, everyone.

I drafted Timo Meier and signed him to a deal with a two way clause, however the only options that I have for him are "place him on waivers" and "Send him to Juniors" I cant assign him to my AHL team.

Can somebody explain to me why? I dont get it..

Thanks!

The two-way clause is only for salary purposes. One salary for NHL, another for other leagues.

If a player has junior rights and isn't an overager(in his 20yo-season) in junior, then you can only send him to junior.

Okay! That makes sense. Thank you!!!

So basically if I'm not going to play him in 2015-2016 I'm better off just leaving him in Juniors I would say.. cool

Generally for me, unless they're generational talent (McDavid's), or I have a severe positional need. I leave all my drafted kids in the juniors until they're not eligible anymore, after that I put them in the ECHL/AHL until they're at a good enough level for the NHL.

Do note that pretty sure during pre-season there's a free-movement period where you can send people back to the AHL without putting them on waivers.
