EHM The Blue Line

After updating to full version. The game simply won't start. I double click to start, nothing happens. Anyone else with same issue? Solutions?

Yeah, I'm getting this "unable to initialise the sound. Please check Direct X 11" error. There was an old solution that doesn't seem to be working at this point, and I don't know what to do.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling afresh. That might solve the game not starting, but not sure about the sound issue. Sounds like something that might require a patch.

I reinstaled Steam and EHM twice but still same problem..

Same issue here. Using Windows 7 64 bit. The solution in the other thread didn't work for me either. Neither did verifying the integrity, uninstalling and reinstalling, or changing any of the check boxes one at a time in the Compatibility tab.

EDIT: The game ran fine the first time I played it right after the update. I then quit out and came back a couple hours later to the error about sound and DirectX.

EDIT 2: Deleting game.cfg in the temporary folder seemed to work. I then went back into the game (which was now windowed, low resolution) and changed the resolution back to my native 1920x1080 full screen. This seems to be the problem, at least for me, because when I exited out again and tried to go back in to test, sound error popped up again.

I deleted game.cfg again, set the resolution this time to 1920x1080 borderless windowed, and no crashes since.

This crash seems to be tied to the new full screen resolution options.

It seems the full screen issue is the problem. I can use borderless window and 1920/1080 without issues.

How do you change the game resolution when it's impossible to open the game?

I did that, and the game started again

Yup, I did that, and I still get the "unable to initialise sound" error. Apparently this has something to do with the resolution EHM runs at, but I have no idea how to fix the resolution when I can't get into the game.

My EHM doesn't work as well, I've deleted the .cfg files in the temporary folder and restarted the game. But still it doesn't launch. Wonder if it's a 50/50 issue for the users, some people seem to have bypassed this poblem.

it work the first time but get error message when reloading it only works when not using the full screen mode

i think ive found it ... un tick the play sounds option in the preferences once youve done the above .. seems to work now

I can't even start the game up without the directx pop up coming up. And where the hell is the temporary folder on my computer?

Sports interactive is not in my local file. And i had to search for appdata when i was in my username......Whats going on?

For you guys with the DirectX problem. I had it myself for weeks. Finally managed to solve it. What I did was as following.

1. Change the screen resolution of your desktop top 1024*768. After you've changed the resolution, don't close the window where you can change the resolution.
2. Start the game.
3. Go to preferences and untick "Play sound"
4. Tab out of the game
5. Change your screen resolution to 1920*1080 or whatever you want
6. Tab in to the game
7. Go to preferences. Select Window mode
8. Select a resultion that is lower than your screen resolution. For me, it was 1400*900 as I wanted to play in a windowed mode, and be able to scroll the interwebz without tabing out of the game.
9. That should work and you can now play EHM: EA in windowed mode.

NOTE: You can also select to play in full screen mode in your resolution if that is what you wan't to do.

Need help guys.

Played 2007 all the time and I super excited that I felt like getting back into it and found the new game. So of course i run over to steam and buy it. Download it...install it...click play...and nothing. It looks like my computer thinks for a minute, but the game never starts. I have done all the above suggestions, I have even found the app folder and tried to run it as an administrator and still nothing.

I'm running windows 7 and should have more then enough power to run this thing, but nothing happens. Help..please.

Have You got other games in Steam? Are they working? Did You try delete and download game again?

I just downloaded and played an older game and it worked just fine. I did delete EHM and reinstall it, twice. Still didn't work. It isn't a very long install.

Have You tried to check EHM folder files in Steam?
