Ottawa 5- Matthews 4. The Leafs still find a way to lose!

In my latest EHM save Matthews is the best player in the league but Leafs are still bad because of bad defense/goaltending, The game is so realistic, eh?

I think we could see a lot of games like this for the Leafs this season- youngsters performing well, team scores a decent amount of goals but still loses.

Welp, this season was fun. Who even needs a top 6, Buffalo sure doesn't...

That slide into the board looked really bad for Kane. That's a couple of weeks easily unless he's lucky.
Tough game for Mitchell too!

Did Marchand just register 5 points ???
And Laine get two for his NHL debut, I'm eager to see the battle for the Calder trophy, it's gonna be fun

Yup! Marchand is coming in hot after a successful World Cup playing with Bergeron and Crosby. He also signed a big 8 year deal with the Bruins a couple weeks ago, so he's got nothing to worry about except playing hockey.

I prefer to see Marchant playing like this them being a rat all the time. He's certainly more entertaining that way.

Speaking of fantasy hockey, do many of you guys play it? Maybe some of you could show off your teams
Here's mine:
I drafted it a couple of hours ago, it's quite bad. This is my first year of playing so I was a bit confused who to pick as I wasn't really ready but I hope it will turn out fun!

Here's mine
First time doing a "normal" draft, no idea how well I'm going to do
fun fact: Crosby dropped all the way to 11th pick!

Never understood that fantasy hockey thing. Is it something you have to pay for?
I've tried a few years ago some free ones, and of course I was pretty good at it, haha!

Some people do leagues where they pay and have the chance at winning a cash prize. Some people pay for tools and such that help them play fantasy hockey. It's usually just free though. At it's core, it's just a competition between a bunch of people where you're drafting your team, managing your roster, and deciding who plays when. I know a lot of people like fantasy hockey because having a player on your team makes watching a game more interesting.

My wife's a Teacher Assistant too, and at her school they have a hockey pool for staff this year, and I helped her pick her team.....they have a website where everything's shown/calculated, and for I think the first time ever she was looking at hockey stats yesterday morning! HaHa
I think they're quite common at places of employment here in Canada, where staff that want to participate, especially now with websites doing all the calculating/presenting of the stats...just one more thing to talk about while avoiding work HaHa

I've never participated in a money league(I've done BPL and NFL before but none were pay-to-enter), I just either join a league with my buddies or some random league. I feel like it makes me interested in some of the teams that I wouldn't usually pay much attention to. Now if there's a game on that I wouldn't usually watch, I'm more interested in it because I want to see how Player X is doing.

Back in the early 90s when I was in the Air Force we had a fantasy football (NFL, not soccer) league for a bunch of us in my unit. This was back before the internet fantasy football everyone knows now. One guy had a program on his hot new 386 computer that tracked everything and he'd have to connect via dial-up to a service to download the initial rosters we used for the draft. Our draft was a live draft with a bunch of us sitting in a room and players written up on a white board. Everybody had notebooks in front of them with their info. It was a lot harder than it is these days. It was also a lot more interesting and fun actually.

Cool!
I remember hockey pools back then (and before) and doing the stats every day with pen/paper and a newspaper HaHa
I worked in a machine shop from 2000-2009 and we had an NHL pool every year, and the draft day (with everyone in the same room) was the best!

When I was involved I enjoyed the "extra stats" like hits and blocked shots & the "head-to head matchups" that we never had in my youth (back then it was just goals and assists, and maybe wins/shutouts)
