How to retired player sweater number?

Post by riazorblues86 »

As per title, how to do it?

What's a criteria? Did he need to play 1000th games for a single team? or maybe there is another way?

Please advice and share the knowledge.

Thanks in advance.

I think 1000 games with single team is one of criteria, but goals, points and awards also take into account. I am mostly playing in euro leagues and I got several number retired, although that player met only GP criteria, his numbers were actually thin.

Same as with getting into the hall of fame, a long career is often enough. Doesn't matter if he was good. The Hall of Fame in my Jets save is closer to a Hall of Shame at this point in time. Especially the goalies inducted have been questionable at best.

Filip have you ever managed to get a player who retired from free agency/another team get their jersey retired? Because incidental evidence for me are pointing to Free agents retiring not getting their number retired, which I guess makes sense because unless the game caches the number every player had at a certain club. It would have no idea what that player's number actually was. I had this happen with Shane Doan as the Coyotes. After his contract ended I let him go to free agency. He retired from free agency early the next season and his number was not retired despite being loyal to the franchise his entire career. Which seemed really odd, unless it was because it didn't know which number to retire.

On that note I'm currently paying Blake "where have my legs gone" Wheeler 10.5M$ a year to make sure he gets his jersey retired with the Jets. It's getting a bit bothersome.
