Hi, im just wondering about the effects of installing a patch to the game an by loading a existing game that have been started with the 3.0.1 version. So I want to know if its desirable to install the patch and continuing playing my ''old'' version game. I also want to know which fixed aspect gonna take effect in a game that have already been started as a older version. Or is this unsafe or bad to install the patch and playing a older version game ... ???

I just never did this before but theres some remainings and non negligible bugs in the 3.0.1 version and im interested in applying the new patch but i would like to know precisely whats gonna be fixed and what will not be in operation in a existing game versus if you start a new game if there are differences ....

Thks a lot in advance !!! weighed !

SI usually put a disclaimer with their patches, saying that they are save-game compatible but to see the full benefits you will have to start a new game

In this case I suggest everyone apply the patch and start a new game if you read through the three pages of items on the changelist for this patch you'll see why I say that. I can't go through and tell you which will or won't take effect immediately but things like database changes will only take effect with a new game. Since the database changes are extensive with this patch you should restart your game.

You can continue your old game and some changes will take effect imemdiately (like the changes to the practice screen) and others like scoring tweaks should be good to go but those issues that affect new players, how players develop, etc will only filter in as new players are created etc. So really the answer is start a new game; everyone freaks when SI says that so they say you can continue... and you can, but especially with as wide-reaching a patch as this one you're better off to just start over.

Easier for me to say though since I am used to restarting my team every week during testing, admittedly... but if you want a reason to start over, why not take over as GM of Columbus and join us for Challenge 6? ;)
