It's all happening again!

So far the patch has been really good for me...prospects are better, the defense actually scores goals, etc, etc. One of the biggest problems I thought it addressed really well was the tendency for players to have sudden and extreme drops in ability when they get to about 35 years old. Some players would become completely useless by the time they were 30...
But I was wrong! It's happening again! I'm in the 11-12 season and ALL my players have suddenly dropped at least one point in any number of attributes! I had noticed a few players being put on waivers who looked much worse than they had been (Huselius, who was on my team had dropped to nothing better than a 10 in attributes within two years) but figured it was fair enough, players have dropped off the face of the earth before. But then this! Pre-patch this didn't happen to me....players would sometimes drop as they aged or if they weren't practicing hard in the relevant field but I've got guys who have been on off. skill almost all year shooting worse than they were before....guys on general have dropped in speed, shooting, passing, checking, pokecheck, etc, etc, etc. My training system is set up properly (i.e. this has never been a problem before halfway through the 11-12 season, I have three intensives and three mediums on all schedules except general which is all intensive), my guys are getting ice time and not set to resting, they've been practicing all year and they're dropping!
Is this happening to anyone else? Am I missing something? Do players maybe get tired of listening to the same coach after x number of years and quit working during practice?
