Looking back at the season
2nd place 52-23-7 111 points, lost to Calgary Flames in the playoffs 4-3 who then wen't on to beat the Penguins for the Stanley Cup, My prospects have done well for the most part, Jack Johnson and Marc Stall ended up being busts however (JJ 10 points 15 games in the AHL, Staal no1 defenseman with -6 and 15 points in 75 games)
I got rid of them both so it wen't well.Injuries were a problem when St Louis was out for 3 months, and bernier was out for the entire playoffs(4 Months)

Trades
Peter Budaj wen't for a 3rd
Jack Johnson for a 2nd
Rob Blake for 3 prospects(salary...)
2 Busts+a no-go prospect+6th rounder for 1st rounder from the bottom team in the leauge(Blues)

Draft Lottery

Well Ducks got the first overall pick, Blues have the 2nd and I have the 26th, There goes my dream of getting Tavares...

Entry Draft skaters & goalies
Tavares, Hasek regen, Belfour regen, and alot of guys with no skill but excelent potential... Don't think the attribute bug would matter here, the draft is horrible!

Pre-Draft Analysis
Instead of giving you the boring bollocks the news message throws at you here is my team

Goalies Defensemen Left Wing Center Right Wing
1 M.Biron S.Souray A.Frolov V.Lecavalier M.St Louis
2 J.Bernier B.Sopel M.Cammaleri T.Lewis D.Brown
3 R.Kristan D.Tanabe A.Mccauley A.Kopitar A.Tukkonen
4 R.Munce C.Teubert J.Blake B.Boyle B.Willsie
5 C.Price A.Miller C.Macarthur J.Lundqvist A.Mccormick
6 T.Rolheiser M.Norstrom J.Cowan K.Turris T.Jackman
7 A.Aksenenko C.Braun R.Stoa S.Parse

Theres loads more but these are mainly the ones i use, My RW Depth is low but its the off-season so no worries there.

Prospects & Draft
J.Bernier[G]->>>>>Projected to be a starter, looks ok as a backup for now still 20 though, will probably rotate around Manchester and LA
C.Teubert[D]->>>>>Already my no4 defenseman, picked him in the 2008 draft and he rocketed his attributes, will probably stay provided he has a good camp
K.Turris[C]->>>>>Another great prospect, before i brought Lundqvist in he was a stead 4th/3rd liner, he put up 5 goals and 15 assists in 79 games, still 19 and needs to develop
S.Foley[D]->>>>Projected no 3-4 D-man, looking good so far, he had a good training camp last year, but others played better, he might play this year, but its a longshot.
T.Rolheiser[G]->>>>Goalie prospect, im having trouble keeping a few goalies on roster, and he is projected to step in as a backup to help bernier in a few years.

And now the draft:
Tavares wen't first as expected, i selected my Hasek regen, now im set in the net for a few years;
Traded my 26th overal 2nd and 3rd rounder(had 4 2nd rounder 4 3rd rounders) for the 8th overall pick, i used it to select Juri Zharkov, in the 2nd round i selected Per-Erik gustavason and that was just about it for the amazing prospects, rough diamonds? we will see.

Untill the first of july
Well Karel Martinec(Hasek regen) Went red hot and was wanted by just about every team in the league, major steal i say.Soon its the 1st of July, and that means hell, i still have 8 players to resing and about 6 mil on my budget...
Martinec signed for 3 years@ 800k per year, nice! he already took over the backup job from bernier, il probably trade Biron away, he is playing well and i think i can get some nice return for him.

It's done Biron is packaged in a deal for a 3nd roudner from the worst team in the leauge, Biron was overpaid mostly, after putting up a 850 sv% i figured he wasn't worth his 2 mil.(board wen't mad, there a bunch of dicks anyway, i won you a Stanley Cup ffs! :rage: )

1st July-Training camp

All hell broke loose, offers sent flying and so on, i lost the following players:

A.Kopitar
A.Miller
J.Blake

Made an offer for the following:

*=offer sheet

B.Orpik 4mil@ 2years
M.Grabovsky* 1.2mil@2 years
S.Koivu 25mil@5years
A.Volchenko 2mil@2 years
A.Kopitar 4.5mil@3 years
D.Briere 17mil@3y years

Out of those i really wan't Orpik and Briere.

Rolheiser for a 3rd sounded nice so i accepted.

Grabovsky to the habs, they matched my offer, ah well.

Volchenkov and Kopitar rejected, so i offered them a bit more, Leetch entered the HOF

Brier to sens, Norstrom retired, meaning i need 2 Stay-At-Home D-Men, a LW and a decent C, kopitar snubbed me again...
Well i signed Koivu, which hit my budget a bit, still plently of money however.

Blues got Volchenko... not good Orpik still out there

Orpik wen't to.... you guessed it grrr  need to find more D-men(Rory isn't really stellar, but him my no4 D-Man is too much)
approached S.Niedermayer with a 10mil@2 years contract.

Damnit still need a center and the only decent one out there is Kopitar, and he keeps rejecting me.

Kopitar 9.5mil@3 years... withdrawed the offer for neidermayer im done for the off season as august comes..... i need some sleep.

The regular season "disaster"

Playtime: 15days 0h 0min 0 seconds
Well the start was about as bad at the kings are having this season

Lets do a "short" recap:
5-6 OT loss vs Columbus
3-6 win @ Crapitals
8-3 loss vs Phoenix
6-5 win vs Avalanche
3-5 loss vs Cannucks

*sighs*
Players that care about the score
D.Tanabe 6a -9 10GP
V.Lecavalier 6g 7a 10GP
S.Koivu 6g 6a 10GP
M.Cammaleri 7g 8a 10 GP

Players that are cold (literally):
J.Bernier(Cloutier clone ftw) 4GP 5.04 gaa
J.Boychuck 1g 2a 10GP -6
B.boyle 0g 0a 10gp 55(!!!) PIM
B.Dupont 0g 0a 2GP 2 PIM

K.Martinec (Hasek Regen) is currently on fire in the OHL, now i really wan't him back
Sent R.Munce(G) to Monarchs and recalled C.Price(G)
M.St Louis on IR with a day-to-day skate bite since OCT 7th

Not All-star, stuck with another wannabe beach-ball on the team, Price is looking ok 9.03 SV% with Manchester... his morale is good as well

Kings 2 @ 1 Red Wings

Price saved 19/20 shots for his first victory in his first NHL start, S.Souray Assisted on both goals :)

5-2 loss vs the sharks so much for C.Price being the comeback hero

St.Louis off IR before the game vs the blues

Team is completed
Now that everyone is off IR i am finally ready to play here are the results:
6-3 win vs Blues
3-8 loss @ Devils(S.Koivu 800th NHL Game)
2-5 loss @ Blackhawks
4-3 OT win @ Rangers(A.Kopitar 100th NHL Goal)
7-2 win @ Flyers(S.Koivu 700th NHL Point)
4-3 loss vs Blackhawks
4-3 loss vs Blue Jackets
3-5 loss @ Blue Jackets
6-1 win @ Ducks
4-2 loss vs Sharks(A.Mccauley scored his 300th point)

Recap
This team seems to be an excellent recap of the REAL kings goaltending situation, the starter sucks more then me, and the backup is having a stellar season -.-

Well not really that stellar with a 3.66GAA and 8.78 SV% .... i just had to get rid of Biron

Right now the best players on my team are:

V.Lecavalier 11g 13a 17 GP +5
M.Cammaleri 8g 14a 17 GP -3
D.Tanabe 3g 11a 17 GP +4
S.Koivu 10g 8a 16 GP +4
S.Souray 6g 12 a 17 GP -3

And now... the worst:

J.Bernier 2 GP 7 GA 1W 3.50 GAA
R.Fitzpatrick 2g 3a 17 GP -3
B.Boyle 1g 1a 16 GP -7
D.Brown 0g 2a 16 GP -2

Im going to need to fix this one way or another,
After 17 games im 6-10-1 and 14th in the west conference :(
Looking forward to it! Can you take a look at how Marc Staal is doing in your game in '10? Thanks!

Cheers.
Well his ratings are through the roof, however he can't produce, i traded him for a first and another prospect

17 GP 2g 5a -3
Not really good for a touted top prospect is it?

Sorry for any spelling mistakes its a long post :-D
