Hiya everyone ive just took over as GM of the Red Wings and one of the 1st things ive noticed is that ive got a lot of players over 33 on defence.Ive even got Chris Chelios who is 44 lol
Ive tryed trading my over 30s club for young and up and coming players but noone is interested which i assume is because of the ages of my players.
So can anyone suggest some decent D men who are under 30s to replace my 2nd 3rd and 4th liners over 33.

I have had great luck with Mara from the Bruins. They were real eager to get rid of him at the deadline.

You can get Van Ryn from Florida for Detroits Brett Lebda and Andreas Lilja, almost always. Also you can usually get Morris from Phoenix for either Schnieder or Markov and a prospect.

Hold on to Fischer, he usually develops into a 3/4 dmen. Lidstrom will be one of the best dmen in the league for the next 2, maybe 3 seasons, so hold onto him as well (Hes got a no trade clause anyways).

Also check out Ossi Vaananen, hes a solid player at his starting age, and usually develops into a real good dmen later on.

Also another thing I usually try to do is trade Datsyuk and Even McGrath(and maybe a draft pick or 2) for San Jose's Patrick Marleau. Your GM won't like the deal but Marleau is a much better player than Datsyuk. Zetterberg and Marleau are a great, fairly cheap combination I think, with them 2 together, you can expect 100 points or more out of them both.

I've played the Wings the most in the game so if you have any other questions, let me know.
