Best game you've ever lost?

Just won my second cup, after dominating the league, and taking most of the important awards and sending Alfredsson, Heatley, Spezza Redden and Emery to the all star game. Binghamton was also the best team in the AHL. Had Spezza, Meszaros, Marc Staal and Kulyash locked up long term for very cheap money. Got all my dream staff. Had Kaspars Daugavins, Staal, Ryan, Kulyash, Logan Couture, Aron Marvin and Sam Gagner in the system (and a few other good prospects), yet to play their first NHL game.

My autosaves haven't been working for some reason. And I just tried to load my game, and I got errors and the game crashed.

It was by far my most successful game ever, and its gone :(.

Anyone else experienced this? What have you guys lost?

Well, I thought I had lost a huge save on the old version, but I tried and tried and it started loading as usual again.

Then of course I've lost a few other saves, but not that long in...

Save early save often in different slots - the old gamer adage. That sucks though, but at least you have the memories ](*,)

I basically save after every game..overwrite the last spot. I forgot to do this in my Canucks career..where I am not coaching, and lost 6 months of time. That drove me nuts.

In year two of the CBJ challenge, the game has been saved upwards of 140 times. Not quite after every game, but close.

I do the same thing. Save after each game just to make sure you don't lose anything. Sometimes if there have been many days between games, I'll save somewhere in the middle too. It takes a bit for my computer to process and get through every AHL, CHL, and NHL game (sometimes Brit league games too). If I've got a 5 or 6 day break in the action, I don't want to have to go back and sit through all that again if there is a power outtage or computer freeze or whatever.

Any time something major is going to happen like an upcoming game, or has just happened like a huge win or a big trade I save. Then I let the autosave get my back. I also save a monthly file and move it to another folder just to be sure. You can never be too careful. :tiptap:

I thought that this was going to be about games you were killing a team in every area but the score when I read the thread title and I was thinking of my first loss in season one of my Bjax career as a prime candidate. In it we outshot Vancouver 61 to 8 and lost 2-0 ](*,)

I lost a Carolina game that was 18 years in..

My whole folder was corrupted.

This was back in EHM 2005.

As it occured me to have some crashes during games, i now always save before a game. And i use rolling saves, so there are 4 running slots for my game, so i won't lost more than 2 weeks of play if one of the saves get corrupted (never happenend to me , though).

I have two save games that I use in a cycle when I save after every match.

A game with Rimouski Oceanic

I was going to build an very improbable dynasty by going to memorial cup the third time in 4 seasons. Crosby was gone, but I got two killer powerforward import... Many of my players got drafted or signed my NHL, Desjardins, Roussin, Bolduc etc, it is surely the proudest things in junior gaming than having your goalie isn't but when he turn 20, got 700K contract with Calgary :)

I had saved my other game (Minnesota Wild) over by mistake!!
