Financial trouble in Slovak league!

I'm playing a career season and in November year 3 have moved to Skalica in the Slovakian league. They were positioned 7th in the league (of 10) and since joining have been able to maintain that position well. But there is one big problem, the finances! Its not just the wage bill either. When I joined the team was paying £270k per year on wages, but the losses from the previous season were £550k in total! I lost over 900k and only gained about 300k. Where's the cash going? 370k is going to the category named "other"! I know I can sort out the financial situation (1 mill in debt) if I only have to drop the wages, but at the moment I'm losing everything I earn into the other category! Interest is included so it can't be that. Another problem is the gate. I get about £6k per game and the arena sells out its 3,000 seats! Last season I was at Wightlink in the EPL, and getting that much cash from a 1,000 seater rink. Do Slovakians watch hockey for pennies? My main income is actually merchandising, which gives me half my cash! What can I do to get my finances back to a positive number?

And please don't say quit the team. I want to get past this problem and don't want to just skip around it by going elsewhere. I know it will be hard to win the league against teams paying 500k a year to players, but I want to at least get somewhere with this team

Wow! Hard job you have here...

It seems that the owner doesn't do his job very well for the tickets price.

If possible, try to ask your board for extra cash to put in the team, but i guess they won't want to do so.

A high-caliber player (according to your league standards) should have a really positive impact on your merchandising sales. But that kind of players wants generally a lot of money and you'll maybe not be able to offer them what they ask for  Furthermore, they'll maybe not be interested in a team which is at the bottom of the league.

Maybe old players will, like 40 years old ex-NHLers, for example :dunno:

I should also suggest you to talk about this on the SI boards... Maybe something has to be tweaked there, i don't know. At least, you should ask them what is exactly covered by the "others" expenditure line.

A team in financial trouble is really hard to manage, as you can't do a lot of things to deal with it, as you're not the guy in charge of the finances, but the one in charge of the staff and the players, so you don't have a lot of options to deal with finances.

Talk about trouble! I don't think I can get much more out of merchandising, its already half my income and 3x that of the gates! It seems I don't have many options. I can't ask for more money because its greyed out and the board are saying they believe I have "adequate rerources to do my job"! lol, at -1mill! I think I'll just have to wait till next season when I can build the squad myself at a cheap price and see if I can get somewhere with minimum cash and maybe even some more will come my way!

Other way to make money is to sell players... But don't expect to bring a lot of money this way

Yeah, for sure, the debt is deep  In my game, i just took control of a team with a -7 millions $ team, so i understand your point :D

By the way, with the upcoming 3.0.3 patch, we'll maybe have to restart a new game to have all the tweaks and corrections, so don't worry too much about your debt :D
