Minimize Game

I'm always wanting to minimize my game here and there to look up stuff and so forth. So I know either I can just save the game and exit it completely or I can just do the Ctrl-Alt-Del and make it minimize that way, but is there any button or something that I don't know about to make this easier?

Thanks for anyone who can help me out.
:-D

I run my game in windowed mode. It's in the Preferences section of the main EHM startup screen I believe. This gives you a minimize button just like any other window. It's not full screen, but I'll take it.

Cheers.

First, I would suggest windowed mode, like CatchUp said. It makes navigation so easy. ;)

Or, if you want to keep the full screen, you can use Alt+Tab to nav. to other things.

I'll probably just do the window thing and if I don't like that too much, I'll just resort to the old Alt-Tab thing.

Windowed mode is the way to go. It's the only way I've played EHM since the first version came out. Then again, I play at work all the time so I want to be able to hide it quickly if someone comes into my office. It's also good if you're bouncing between windows, say EHM and Firefox or maybe Photoshop.

Alt+Tab.

Although it's best to run your game in window mode.

Well to make it work at my house i had to use like 1258 X 1025 pixels (something like that, i am at school right now so i can't check).

How does it not work? Do you get an error message? Does it just not look right? It's kind of hard to know what the problem might be when it just "won't work".

I've got the resolution set to 1280x1024 on my work computer and I think it might be set higher at home. The game runs perfect windowed on both. I forget what the default resolution of the game is. I want to say either 800x600 or 1024x768. What resolution is your laptop set to and what is it capable of?

I had the same problem a while back and the guys here were able to help me.
Read this thread and you should be all set.

I know that it asks for your window to be a certain size and the problem is that what it tells you it needs to be... it already is.

Kind of weird, but the samething happened to me. Thanks for the thread link Joe, I'll use that to see if I can get some help from it.

Aside from that, I don't mind running it in full mode too much. Just nice if you can bounce around and not have to deal with it the other way.

I think the consensus is that you can't use windowed mode unless you can set your screen width HIGHER than 800 pixels.

I see you've already posted here, but this is the thread I'm talking about : http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... php?t=1798

Did you check to make sure you entered the right info? Archi posted this:
archibalduk wrote:What does the whole of your target box read? It sounds like you didn't add the text correctly, e.g. you overwrote what was originally written in the box.

It should look something like this:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files\Games\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\ehm2007.exe" -small_screen -windowed
Of course change the above so that it reflects where your copy of EHM is installed.
I don't have this problem so I'm afraid referring you to other people/posts is the best I can do. Hope you get it sorted.

Cheers.

I noticed that you can't do it unless you actually go above 800 pixels. Which by that time, you can't stand it, because you have to be face to face to see anything on the computer.

Unless of course you have a big monitor, but like most people in this world, we all don't... kind of expensive.

Anyway, I find that using Alt+Tab are just fine!
