What happens if you have less than 23 players in your roster, does your salary cap counts your AHL player with the highest salary or does it only count 22 or even 21 players?

I think the salary cap only takes into account the top 20 salaries of the NHL team. But i don't know what happens if you have less than 20 players.

1. Salary cap during off season (July-October) will reflect top 24 salaries on the roster, regardless of AHL, NHL, ECHL, or CHL as long as the player is signed by the team...So this is inaccurate for you as manager...because you may keep a $450,000 player over a $1mill you send down to the farm during the season. You have to manually add up $ so that you can prepare to be under the cap during the year.

2. Salary cap during season--Players on roster. Max 23. If you have 22 only, it will be the 22. If you have 21 it will be 21. Only the players on NHL roster would count. Sometimes things change a bit if you have a player on IR that makes alot of money. Some of that salary may not be counted for period player is on the IR.

I have to ask why? Can't it just tell me how much cap whats on my currant roster hits all year round? Because its a lot harder to work out how much money I have available when I first have to take off all these players who won't be included... also not to mention I have to find out which players are the ones its counting! Can't it just go as it does during the regular season so I only have to knock one salary off the count... or do some managers call half the AHL side up in the offseason for training camp or something?

NOpe, because that is the one way the game does not work bud. Just the way it is. If you can figure out the AI on the game like you have though, I am sure you can figure out all the coding of the game and change that too. So please do it, it would make everyone happy.

Hard to believe you could find this thread buried 20 down there, but you don't realize how much excitement everyone will treat your " I beat the AI in this game" stories.
