Moderator Note: This is now the official thread for asking questions relating to EHM 2007 v3.0.1 /v3.0.2 / v3.0.3 / v3.0.4 .CPP fatal errors - Archi (20 July 2011).

You may also want to look at this thread which discusses the modding limits of EHM 2007: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =13&t=3701

There is also a useful thread discussing saved games crashing on the same date here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... f=3&t=3700

User's original message:

I went to go load my game and look at this:

Its not loading and of course I hadn't created a back-up yet Image, I highly doubt, but is there a way to fix it?

What happens when you try to load it?
What patch are you running?
Are you using an edited database?
What have you done to EHM between when it last worked and when it stopped working?

1. When I load it I get a few errors like, "v3.0.3 tactic_manager.cpp 3191", "v3.0.3 scout_manager.cpp 1882", "v3.0.3 news_manager.cpp 1895", actually thats all of them.

2. 3.0.3

3. Yeah, I updated my rosters an "created" myself, I'm betting that is the problem :(.

4. I used the editor.

Yes it definately sounds like it could be the editor. Although I'm surprised that it didn't crash when you started the game. I guess it's corrupted the saved game. What exactly did you do with the editor? Did you just create yourself or did you make any other changes?

I created my self and updated the roster (made most of the people who were traded this year on there new teams) also I un-retired Brett Hull simply because hes my favorite player :D. So is there basicly no way of getting it back? :(.

It would probably be best to start again with the default database. Then make a few changes and try again. If it works, back it up, make a few changes and re-test it. I don't think there's a fool-proof way of using the editor

Aw , well that makes me kinda widdled off now because I put a lot of work into that, but I do thank you for all of your help. Where do I get a the default database?

Did you not backup the database before you made your alterations?! You should always keep a backup. Otherwise you could try re-installing the latest EHM patch.

You should take a look at how to run multiple databases in EHM so that you always have a convenient backup of the default database; see the bottom of this thread.

Re-installing the patch worked, and thanks for the link to that thread. I was reading it a few day and couldn't find it , yeah I'm pretty slow :-D. Thanks for all the help I appreciate it!

Sorry but the editor didn't cause this. This is a corrupt saved game (almost certainly some hardware error - likely hard disk error - maybe lack of disk space upon saving) as the header file for the saved game is corrupt. It is not possible for the pre-game editor to cause this.

Go to Si forums and ask there, or you could search with the magnifying glass, in the top right corner to see if there are any posts previous to this. Si Forums likely the place to go though, as they handle official problems such as yours.

I've lost a season like this too.
The problem, for me, was that my hard drive was too close of maximum capacity at the moment of the save.

I haven't had a problem since i made some room on it

Hope it helps

I simed through seasons to June 2011 and I get this error:

v3.0.4 file_llist.CPP 238 (file_llist::add_node() : cannot open file

Anyone know what this means??

Probably best to post this on the SI forums themselves. You will likely get a faster response over there. Although someone here may be able to help when they have a look.

What modifications had to you done to the game (notably the database) before you'd started your game?

Not much modification..just the unfaked database.

Is it only the unfaked database? Have you edited anything with the pre-game/saved game editor?

The only time I got an error like that was when I was playing with the arenas. Giving them proper names and capacities and the like. I figured I screwed something up. I installed a clean DB and it worked okay.

Are you getting that error when trying to load the game? Or when you try to sim past a certain date?

First thing I'd do is check an autosave (if you have one) and see if it does the same thing.

If that doesn't work, try starting a new game and leaving it on overnight to sim past that date again, see if the same thing happens.

Errors like this are very often caused by using edited databases. I believe the Unfake DB is based on an old version of the official DB (I think it's version 3.0.2) - I don't know whether that is responsible for any problems as well.

Your best bet would be to ask in the SI Forums. Make it clear what version of the Unfaking DB you're using, and ask whether using a custom DB based on version 3.0.2 will cause errors when trying to play it in 3.0.4, or does the 3.0.2 DB have bugs that were fixed by the later patches.

Fatal: v3.0.4 select_leagues_screen.cpp 85

Hi,

I'm currently running NHL: EHM 2007, and whenever I go to create a new game, I get the following error message. Bare in mind that this message pops up when the main screen is still visible in the background. The screen never changes.

"Fatal: v3.0.4 select_leagues_screen.cpp 85"

When I click 'OK', the game shuts off.

I have discovered that whenever this happens, all I need to do is re-install the version 4 patch and it works. After creating a new game, though, it goes back to the exact same problem. It gets rather annoying - so although I've found a solution, I'd like to know if there is a permanent fix to my problem.

I appreciate any and all help.

Thanks

Problem when editing the database

Posted: Mon Jun 30, 2008 10:11 pm
by Shadd666
Okay, so here's a problem that LordRoke is having. As he is not very familiar with the English language, i'm gonna translate his message:

Hi,
I'm using the editor to replace the Finnish leagues by the French leagues.
To start with, i put the Ligue Magnus teams in the top Finnish league. Both leagues have the same number of teams, so there's no problem. The game works well.
Then i put the teams of the second French league (aka Division 1) in the second Finnish league (aka Mestis). As the number of teams is different, i decide to keep two Finnish teams. But then, when i start a new game with this new DB, i've got an error... but an error that concerns the top Finnish league!

First error message: "v3.04 fin_first.cpp 1267"
Then: "v3.04 fin_first.cpp 76"
And then the game crashes.

I don't see where the error comes from, so i'd need your help.
Thanks in advance!

(note: please try to not be too technical in your answers, as i'll then have to translate it into French :D )

Are you sure that he put those teams in Mestis?

Because in Mestis have only 12 teams.
french national League 1 = 16 teams
french espoirs League = 11 teams (don't know which one is the division 1)
Finnish Suomi Division = 18 teams
Finnish Suomi Division North = 10 teams
Finnish Suomi Division South = 8 teams

I think that he put those teams in Suomi Division and there is two divisions.
And in those divisions, there have to be excact same number of teams.

Or he put one extra team in Mestis..

From what i understood, he just replaced existing teams by a French team. And when there wasn't enough French teams to put in, he let the remaining Finnish teams. He is aware of the issue of having the exact same number of teams, so i doubt he made such a mistake :dunno:
